Singapore. today we left the French Romain’s apartment, which we met in the morning on Tioman Island, Malaysia, and settled in the hostel called Betle Box in the city center.. We settled in a hostel room with breakfast included, which costs S$23 per night.. Also, there is free internet.. You can reach the city center by walking for half an hour.
Although our first day in Singapore started off rainy, my travel mate Farid put on our raincoats and borrowed an umbrella from the hostel and went outside.. First we took the bus to the Chinatown area.. It is considered heaven for those who want to shop. You can find everything you are looking for. After Chinatown, when I saw the shopping malls selling electronic devices, I hung out with them.. My friend went towards the city center. There are many electronic malls near Little India.. I visited all 8 floors of one of them.
My intention was to buy the new Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1. Prices given in each store are different from each other.. I was surprised when a salesperson in one of the stores asked if you were from Turkey.. No one has ever guessed. Another interesting thing is that when the salesgirl at another store asked where I was from, I told her to guess.. When I said you are from Turkey, I almost fell open.. He could guess from my English accent.. Check out my experience!
After noting down the tablet PC prices, being hesitant to buy or not, I switched to Little India.. This region, where Indians live, does not have much attention.. Its streets, which are full of restaurants and small shops, are ordinary.
We went down Victoria Street and then went to Marina Bay, the popular place of the city, and met with my friend Farid there again.. This area is the place where high-rise buildings, hotels and cafes are located with eye-catching illuminated signs.. Around the river, many people were constantly taking pictures with their cameras in their hands.
Laser shows from Marina Bay Sands Hotel, one of the buildings that have become the symbol of Singapore, and sound and light shows at the pool built on the river in front of the hotel. it caused our eyes to be locked there with those who were there. Singapore StreetsThe dance of the waters with classical music was impressive. From the same pool, the fire dance sometimes accompanied the dance of the waters.
The Marina Bay hotel, which was opened in June 2010 and includes a casino, shopping center and museum, has 2561 rooms.. A total of 8 billion dollars was spent on the construction of the complex, which is also the most expensive casino in the world.. It has the world’s largest casino hall with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines.. With the completion of the entire complex, a new opening was held in February 2011.
The 1-hectare SkyPark at the top of the hotel is designed in the style of a ship’s deck, with pools the size of 10 Olympic swimming pools, and you have the opportunity to see the entire island of Singapore from here.
Think about the size of the country.. The whole country is under my feet, what an easy thing to say for what’s there. Of course, in order to taste it, you must be a customer of the hotel.. Entry to the casino is free for foreigners, but Singaporeans must have quite a few dollars in their pocket.
My recommendations for accommodation: Those who want to stay in Orchard Road Grand Park Orchard Hotel they can stay. very nice hotel. Again, the Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel, located in the most beautiful places of Clarke Quay, can be an exquisite choice.. The Marina Mandarin Hotel where I stayed in the Marina Bay area was also a suitable choice.. One of the most suitable places for those who would prefer a hostel is The InnCrowd Hostel where I stayed for more than 10 days in Little India.. I also recommend Betel Box on Joo Chiat Road, close to Geylang Street, where I stayed when I first went to Singapore.
We walked to the area as Arap Street.. The buildings here consist of 2-3-storey historical buildings and almost all of them have restaurants, cafes and bars.. We sat at the Turkish restaurant called Sufi’s Corner and sang our tea and hookah.. After a long time, the taste of drinking tea in a teapot was completely different.
