So far, I have had various experiences in my trips abroad.. While on some of these trips I was accompanied by my dear friends, in others I was “traveling” alone.
When I was traveling alone, everyone who heard this was asking me various questions.. Is it difficult to be alone abroad, how does it feel, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
I took a pen and paper in my hand to answer these questions today

Why Am I Traveling Alone?
Am I crazy in the first place Why am I taking my backpack alone and leaving !
Of course, my first preference is to have my beloved travel companions with me.. To date, I have not turned down anyone who wants to join me.. But our living conditions are clear, often it is difficult to find time to even meet with our friends, it is very difficult to bring together comprehensive overseas plans.
Those who regularly read Gorkemliyollar will know my overseas story.. I am in favor of the behavior of being courageous and making instant decisions on trips abroad.. Don’t overthink it, it’s not a risk with loss to win or not to try at all!
So it’s not easy to find friends by your side in instant decisions.. Usually my trips abroad show up out of nowhere

Being Alone Abroad
It’s an indescribable feeling at work Imagine, I buy my ticket and go to San Francisco 10 thousand kilometers away from where I was born by myself
strong>, the farthest end of even America… ..and at that moment I say that the closest I know on earth is in another continent!
Here is freedom this is when you are alone abroad you enter into a completely different world. You have nothing left of your previous life with you. It’s like being in a movie or a game, just walking on the streets is a different excitement.

Don’t I Get Bored While Wandering Alone?
The human feeling above Can you get bored with living? I think it’s very difficult But that alone is not enough.
What I always tell you is, travel planning the key to everything, planned travel brings you happiness. This is where planning comes into play.. There are different plans for me when I travel abroad with my friends.
When traveling alone, you have to plan so that you don’t have time to get bored!
For example, let’s consider a city from the Balkans, let’s say Sarajevo.. If I plan a 3-day trip alone in this city, won’t I get bored? If I were with my friends, I could spend weeks sitting on the streets and even making music, but when I’m alone, everything is different.
Take a satisfying route on a road you take alone. Countries, cities and activities that will excite you… Avoid too, ideally between 4-6 days. I’m not saying this for those who are going on a long tour, it can be a short trip to Europe.
In Manhattan / New York, United States that Doesn’t Even Let You Get Bored There are some things we should pay attention to.. As people who grew up in Turkish families, we are somewhat accustomed to “putting our backs on”, to put it bluntly.. The people we love, our families, our elders always help us. But forget about them abroad!
When you go abroad alone, you are responsible for everything about yourself.. First of all, your safety, personal needs, planning and more are yours alone.
I will not use cult expressions such as do this, do like this, just take the strings and trust yourself

The Difference Between Being Alone and Being Alone
I thought a lot if I should write a separate article for this topic.. I think I am one of the only representatives of the subject!
For some reason, being alone and being alone are always put on the same scale, these two words are very different
I only set out on my own, and then I have a travel life far from what you expected.. I can count at least 10 trips to give you examples of this.. I’ve even traveled with people I’ve met on the plane and even been a guest!
Or when traveling in Italy from asking for directions to people who think I’m native to participating in casual conversations on trains.. If you are single abroad, people are very sociable with you and it is very difficult for you to be alone.

Is it safe to travel alone
Yes, it is safe If something happens to you Will your friend next to you save you !
When you travel alone, you only have to think for yourself as I mentioned above.. Other than that, the risks around are the same. In fact, you wouldn’t dare to do the absurd and insecure acts that two people will do when they trust each other, alone

Challenges While Traveling Alone
Of course, being alone can have a hard time.. For example, if you don’t use hostels, you have to pay for two people alone in hotels, the room rates are fixed in most hotels.
Or even when you go to the washroom, you will not have anyone to leave your belongings. You are always responsible for all your belongings
There will be no one to make up for a small negativity that may happen to you.. For example, my bank, who thought that I was in Budapest and Bangkok a few days apart, suspicious and thought that my card was copied, canceled my cards without my knowledge! For my safety
In the end, I only had to manage with the cash I had. I had to. There was no one to whom I would say “Let’s withdraw money from you, we’ll settle accounts when we get back” !
