One of the most popular destinations in Asia in recent times Indonesia Bali island , should be in the first place among the places that every traveler definitely wants to go and it is usually found. If you also want to have a Bali vacation or honeymoon in Bali but don’t know where to start and how to organize it, How to plan a Bali trip my article is for you.
In this article, when to go to Bali (rainy season), how long to stay, where to book flight tickets and hotels, how to visit Bali and how far to go
When to Go to Bali?
In Bali, which is very close to the equator, the temperatures vary between 20 – 35 degrees throughout the year, so we do not have a risk of cold weather.. The most important criterion in determining a date for a Bali holiday is monsoon rains.. We can say that Bali’s rainy period is from October to March, while July – August, which is the summer months in Turkey, is the dry and therefore the most crowded season in Bali.
I went in February, which is one of the rainiest months, as there are other destinations I want to go to in the summer and I don’t want to visit Bali at its most crowded time.. I was satisfied with my trip; because I love going to tropical places like this during the cold winter months.
What happens when it rains, in the form of drizzle that can last up to a few hours or very heavy rain. now it rains whatever comes your way, then everywhere is sunny again. But if you want to swim in the famous Kuta and Seminyak regions and its surroundings, because of the rains, the beach is not your dream of ‘white sand and a blue sea like a sheet’.. This part was not a problem as I went to Bali for a cultural holiday rather than the sea-sun and I rented a hotel with a pool during the ‘stay’ days.
To Bali If we gather the answer for the question of when to go;
- For those who say “Crowded and high hotel prices are not a problem, it is more important to have great weather”, June – July – August (high season)
- For those who say, “It would be nice if I could hang out on the beaches a little bit, but it’s not the peak season, I’ll still stay in a hotel with a pool in case bad weather happens” April – May – September – October (transition season)
- For those who say “I’m not going to swim all the way to the sea, I’ll travel all the way, as long as it’s not too crowded” (see me) November – December – January – February – March (low season)
What’s In Bali How long will you stay?
Yes, we have come to the part that I see most asked in the messages I receive, which leaves us all in doubt before we go: How much for a Bali trip? should allocate time?
Usually the situation goes like this; Our hero, who is planning a Bali vacation, wants to see not only the island of Bali but also the places around it, while he has gone that far.. Because plane tickets are expensive, he will travel all these hours and he cannot do this many times in his life.. But our hero also only has very limited time.
“Yeah, exactly” I can hear you say, so let’s solve our equation with many unknowns step by step.
<
The most important thing you need to do is determine your expectations from Bali vacation. I regret to see that many people from Turkey go to Bali only to swim in the sea and quickly pass the Ubud region, which is Bali’s real wealth.. Especially if you are dreaming of honeymoon in Bali and you are going to get out of your wedding and wedding periods, which you are extremely tired of, you can make such a holiday, but I still recommend you to allocate one third of your holiday to the Ubud region.. Because that’s when you’ll see the temples, rice fields, waterfalls and more in Bali, and the fact that you’ve been on vacation ‘to the ends of the world’ makes more sense as you’ll see things that aren’t often found where you live.
My advice to those who go especially during the transition season and low season like me is to spend two-thirds or half of their holidays in Ubud.. For example, if you planned a 6-night Bali trip, it would be appropriate to spend 3 or 4 nights (I think 4 is better) in Ubud and the rest in one of the Kuta – Seminyak – Nusa Dua – Jimbaran regions.
At this point, “Okay, but how should I choose a hotel in the places you mentioned?” If you said (I think you did ), don’t forget to read my WHERE TO STAY IN BALI article for my Bali hotel recommendations and things to consider when choosing a hotel, as someone who has stayed in 4 different hotels in Bali.
Sample Bali Trip Plan
How did I travel? As someone who works full time and has as limited time as anyone else, I could spare 6 nights in Bali, I wish I could spare more.. It’s definitely not less than 5-6 nights, let’s agree on that once, or if you skip the sea holiday part completely and only visit Ubud, maybe it will be like that.. I stayed in Seminyak for 2 nights and Ubud for 4 nights.
Car Rental with Driver in Bali
With a chauffeured car for 4 of 6 days I traveled. Although a chauffeur-driven car may sound like a luxury, it is the most common for tourists in Bali and a normal way to get around in the least amount of time.. You can contact me on my Facebook page (Hayat ve Seyahat), Instagram account (hayatveseyahat) or send an e-mail to [email protected] for the information of the driver, whom I was very pleased with while I was traveling and recommended to many of my readers and helped them travel together after I returned.. Although there are many drivers in Bali, this friend that I have tried before and recommended to everyone with peace of mind will be more reliable for you.. Please write to me only after you have bought your flight ticket and therefore your trip is final.
In case you are thinking of writing to ask the price of a driver in Bali, I would add: with driver daily in Bali car rental price is 50 dollars per car, the car can take a maximum of 5 people, gas and parking fees belong to the driver, you do not pay for the food.. Tour duration is 10 hours maximum, 30 dollars if you want a half-day tour. You pay in cash at the end of the day.
The First Day in Bali: Seminyak & Its Surroundings
After opening the driver issue in parentheses Then let me come to the details of the 4 days I traveled with him; one was the day I arrived in Bali and my stay was in Seminyak. In Bali, there are famous beaches that I want to see close to the airport and therefore Seminyak, and some temples that must be visited in Bali, such as Uluwatu Temple.. Since my flight arrived early in the morning, the driver greeted me at the airport with a sign with my name written on it and drove me around the places I mentioned all day and dropped me off at my hotel late in the evening. transfer to your hotel (the driver can also help with this) and making the tour the next day.. Result: Keep the number of days you stay in Kuta – Seminyak – Nusa Dua – Jimbaran areas, which are the sea regions of Bali, as one more than the number of days you want to spend at the hotel and on the beach with a ‘stay’, and for that one day you can go to the beaches with a driver. plus tour Uluwatu Temple. Since I will explain the places to visit in Bali separately, I will not go into details here.
Second Day in Bali: Enjoying Massage in Seminyak
I mentioned the day I arrived. My second day in Seminyak was my day of enjoyment after spending it with the tour. I hung out at the hotel pool (because the beach was not in good shape because of the rain), got a Balinese massage, toured around Seminyak and Kuta. Naturally, I was on my own today, so I made a deal with the driver to take a day off.. Those who want to extend the sea-sun part of their Bali holiday can add a day here; In this section, you can do everything you can think of, such as eating good sea food, hanging out in cafes, meeting young people, nightlife, sunbathing, relaxing, doing water sports and learning to surf.. One day was enough for me and so I completed my two nights in Seminyak.
Third Day in Bali and After: Ubud & Cultural Tours
I agreed with the driver for Ubud tours for the next 3 days; He took us from hotel in Seminyak to Ubud hotel and we toured around Ubud for three days. Although I traveled as fast as I could, there were places that were missing, which is why I said “I wish I had more time”.
Spending a day in Ubud, again, hanging out at the hotel I wanted to and relax enjoying the view at this hotel with an infinity pool overlooking palm trees. All in all, I spent one day each in Ubud and Seminyak without a driver and the other 4 days doing a cultural tour with a driver, and I think it was a good planning (I did a lot of research beforehand). Of course, there is no such thing as the truth, after getting an idea of what is where and what is on the map, it is the most logical to make the final decision in line with the recommendations of the driver.
Please do not take any of the expensive tours that are sold on the internet and that are not specially designed for you.
According to your expectation from Bali holiday, you need to divide the number of days according to the sea and culture concepts and contact the driver accordingly. We learned that we need. Now that we’ve taken care of Bali itself, we’re taking it one step further.
Places Near Bali & Places to Plan a Trip with Bali
In case you have less than 6 days for a Bali trip, I think you should not mess with the neighboring places that I will talk about in this part of the article.. But let’s say you have more time, or you think differently than I do and you say “3 – 4 days is enough for me in Bali, I want to see other places”. Even though I don’t recommend it, let me help you
Bali and Singapore Trip
The most frequently visited place with Bali and the first place I would recommend Singapore. It’s a great city/country, and you’re already passing by as you’ll probably be transferring to Bali from there.. Even though I went to Singapore before, I reserved 3 days before Bali.. The minimum number of days I would recommend to you for Singapore is 3, but if you say “I have a few hours of flight transfer, can I travel in the meantime,” I have no objection to you, of course, you can take a look at the city from the end.. PLACES TO VISIT SINGAPORE, you can read my articles about Singapore, especially my writing.
Bali & Gili Islands & Lombok Trip
Want to explore more of Indonesia itself, not another country? Then the Gili Islands and Lombok might be for you. I heard that the sea of the Gili Islands is very beautiful.. From there you go to Lombok and buy your return ticket from Lombok instead of Bali.. For example, Singapore – Bali departure and Lombok – Singapore return.. With keywords such as Bali to Gili Trawangan, you can find out the ferries operating on this route and their prices.
For example, if you have two weeks for a Bali holiday and you’re gone, it’s possible. If you want to see as many places as possible, you can do all of them in the form of Singapore – Bali – Gili Islands – Lombok – Singapore.. I, on the other hand, did not go to Gili and Lombok even though I have two weeks for this holiday; because I chose to go to Malaysia instead
Bali and Malaysia Trip
For details of how I made a route and where and how much time I spent SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA & BALI TOUR: DESTINATION & COST. As you can see, only a limited number of destinations can fit in a limited time and I couldn’t do everything (Gili and Lombok were missing), the important thing is to set our priorities. Before this holiday, I decided that it was a priority for me to visit Kuala Lumpur – Langkawi – Penang trio.
How To Get To Bali – Bali Flights
There is a direct flight to Bali from Turkey, the most comfortable way is of course to go this way. However, if you want to reduce the price, you can choose connecting flights.. Bali airport name is Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar) and airport code is DPS.
I shared the link just above In my destination article, I wrote the flight tickets I could find; I arrived in Singapore by connecting flight and from there I took a direct flight to Bali.. Instead of going back to Singapore from Bali, I went to Kuala Lumpur and returned to Istanbul by connecting from there.. You may need to spend a lot of time to find tickets, but if you can find the departure and return cities from different places as I did (the so-called multi-point flight method), you will have the opportunity to see different places instead of go and come.
Apart from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, there are also transfer alternatives such as Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Hong Kong, although it is a bit far away. You look at the prices and the places you want to see. it can take a long time to find the tickets.
I usually use the skyscanner site to find flight tickets and after finding the appropriate combination I make inquiries from the airport’s own site and compare prices on which site is cheaper.. Buying round-trip flights in one go and domestic flights in Asia in one go often gives more flight combinations and the best price, but you have to try.
Tip: Remember that there is a strange rule that if you don’t use one of the tickets you bought in a single session (linked to the same booking reference/PNR number), you cannot use the others; e.g. if you take 4 flights together as multipoint and your plan has changed 2. If you don’t get on the flight, you can’t get on the next ones either.. So if there is a flight that you are not sure about, take it separately.. Since I am not an airline agency, I refrain from saying that this is the case, of course, if you have any questions, I say consult the authorized people.
How to Travel Bali?
I told you that the most efficient way to travel is to rent a car with a driver.. As I mentioned before, you can write to me for driver communication.
If it’s not a problem for you, Bali’s heavy traffic, traffic flows on the left and you don’t have someone who knows the best route to take with you. You can travel by yourself by renting a motor or a car.. Not my recommendation.
You can use Uber or get a private transfer service like a Bluebird taxi. It might make sense if you’re going to a single destination during the day (from the airport to the hotel or just to point X and back), but keep in mind that Bali is often visited as multiple destinations in the same day.. Just on the last day, on the way from my Ubud hotel to the airport, I requested a taxi from an agency on the way to the airport, that is, I used this method.
I recommend you to continue with my other articles in the Bali category, where you will find all the information you are looking for.
