Healing and flavor storage of winter months pumpkin soup is an extremely delicious soup that we are not used to seeing on our traditional tables.. Moreover, the pumpkin soup recipe is a very easy recipe to prepare.. Don’t forget to try the pumpkin soup, which is mostly considered as pumpkin dessert in Turkish cuisine.
Ingredients for the pumpkin soup recipe:
- 500 gr pumpkin
- 1 sweet potato (regular potato is also ok)
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 carrot
- 1 glass of coconut milk (regular milk also works)
- Homemade marrow bone broth ( not required)
- Olive oil, salt, pepper, ginger and turmeric
We start our soup by peeling and washing the ingredients. It takes some time to chop the pumpkin.. First we remove the seeds of the pumpkin that we cut in half.. You can dry the seeds and eat them later.. Then we peel the pumpkins, which we cut into thin slices like watermelon slices.
Two portions of soup can be made from a 500 gram pumpkin.. Therefore, you can put half of it in a freezer bag and throw it in the freezer and use it again later.
If you use normal potatoes and regular milk, you can add a tablespoon of honey and a glass of honey to get a taste like in the recipe. you can add a pinch of nutmeg.
We fry all the chopped ingredients in olive oil for a few minutes.. Then we add homemade marrow bone broth, coconut milk and some water.. After adding salt, pepper, ginger and turmeric to further flavor our pumpkin soup, we let it boil.. You can add a teaspoon of ginger and half a teaspoon of turmeric.
After boiling for 5 minutes on medium heat, we taste and add spices if necessary.. Then we pass our soup through the blender until we get a smooth consistency.. You can serve your soup after turning it off and resting it for a few minutes.. If you wish, you can decorate the top with pumpkin seeds, bon appetit.
