Kyrgyz cuisine and Kyrgyz cuisine became a culture that I never felt far from.. I’ve never been hungry. I even gained weight. Well, if you ask what is consumed the most in Kyrgyz cuisine: In the Kyrgyz cuisine, which is generally meat-based, pastries are also consumed a lot. But I think they eat the most meat.. There is meat in everything! It’s also so cheap, you’ll know what I mean when you see the prices below.. Let me give an example: go to the most expensive restaurant in Kyrgyzstan. have a crammed meal. You do not pay 50 TL. The average amount you will pay is 20 TL.. You can see all the dishes I’ve tasted below.
A cold salad and tea comes before the meal.. Breads (Nan) are hearty. Prices are quite affordable
The Best Kyrgyzstani Food
Now sir, I have seen both the south and the north of the country. Although there are differences according to the regions, I tried to explain the impressions they left on me in 1 line and with photos.
I wrote my restaurant suggestions at the bottom, focusing on that city since I stayed longer in Bishkek.. But don’t worry, in my Places to visit in Kyrgyzstan article, I also told about the restaurants in the Kyrgyzstan Cities I visited.
1. Borsok
The bagel we know, but in a smaller shape. They start the meal with borsok, which they call fried dough.
Before you buy a plane ticket: air ticket search engines read my article
Before the food arrives, you will see on the table. Then comes the main courses.. I have shared sample tables below.
2. Tea
They always serve tea before meals and it continues until the end of the meal.. Yes. You start eating with tea before the meal you know, and their tea is very delicious.
3. Ganbyan somyan
Meat noodles. So the noodles you know. They also add spices specific to Kyrgyzstan.
It saves lives, especially if you are hungry.. 1 portion can be consumed by 2 people of moderate quality.
4. Manty
Although ravioli is similar to the ravioli culture in Turkish cuisine, it is actually a little different.. It can usually be boiled dough in very large pieces and minced meat in it.
Sometimes fries can also be served. There are about 2-4 pieces on a plate.. But if I say half a kilo. You can think of it like a main course.
5. Guyru Ganfan
Ganfan is a very satisfying meal served as a mixture of rice and fried meat and vegetables in a plate.

Pilav or noodles are already included in many dishes.. By the way, each serving is even more than 1 person.
6. Plov
rice with meat. Indispensable in Kyrgyz cuisine. A life-saving, always satisfying and delicious meal.
It can be yellow or orange, especially in the south.. I think they put saffron in it. But believe me, I have never eaten bad rice in Kyrgyzstan.
7. Nan
The name of bread in Kyrgyzstan. But it’s getting ready in a round way. You can also ask for butter while it is hot.. I shared his photo above.
8. Lagman
Juicy meat and noodle dish. There’s meat on the noodles. It can be very satisfying but mostly spicy.
9. Kuurdak
I love this. When I’m hungry, it always came to my rescue. One was Kuurdak and the other was Shashlik.. Kuurdak, fried meat.
Already “Kuurdak”, “Fried” in Kyrgyz means. one of my favorites. I think you will like it too.
10. Dimdama
Boiled form of mutton and potatoes. In fact, this is the boiled meat you know.. Flavor? Another legend.
11. Five fingers
I heard this 2817392721 times before I went to Kyrgyzstan. A dish over noodles where lamb and onions fall in love. One of the favorites in Kyrgyzstan.
12. Samsa
Sounds like a meat bun. mornings are so beautiful. I know. The biggest problem will be breakfast, but I think you will have a comfortable breakfast in Kyrgyzstan.
13. Shashlik

It contains meat, rice and beans. Quite satisfying. say 1 portion. Don’t even order a main course on it.
15. Horse meat
Available in many restaurants. I didn’t like much. I didn’t like the taste for some reason.. Horse is very valuable in Kyrgyz culture.
Kimiz from milk, from meat They made different dishes.. In fact, in some highlands, patients were treated by drinking this red.. so precious. So holy.
16. Alcohol
Aragy Vodka or Kyrgyz vodka were the best. They were also very cheap.. If we think with the money we have, you can buy 1 bottle of vodka for 15-20 TL.. You drink a cocktail at the most expensive place and pay around 15 TL.
17. Chak chak dessert
A delicious dessert that mixes honey, dough and walnuts. For some reason, it reminded me of a bite. You can find it in many restaurants.
18. Ours
Horse milk. The taste is hard to get used to. but very healthy. (Note: I couldn’t drink. I couldn’t get used to its smell.) It contains up to 5% alcohol.
My Bishkek Restaurant Recommendations :
Bishkek was the richest city in Kyrgyzstan in terms of food and beverage. That’s why I wrote down all the restaurants I’ve been to in the city.. In many restaurants, you pay an average of 500 SOM per person, that is, around 25 TL.
But what I’m saying is valid for really high quality venues.. In a middling restaurant, you can pay less. According to my own experience, the Bishkek restaurants that I like the most are :
1. Arzu
One of the best restaurants in Bishkek. The place has both a garden and an interior. You can probably find all the dishes I mentioned above in the menu.
Before making plans: Check out all my articles from the Kyrgyzstan link
Prices: Koskoca steak 600 SOM, Lagman 210, Ganfan 180, Plov 220, Manty grain 33, coke 30, mohito 200, jack 230. In fact, you can consider these prices for most of the places I have described below.
- Address : 7 Togolok Moldo, Bishkek 720000, Kyrgyzstan
2. Navat
One of the best in the country for meat. They are especially good at local meat (They made the distinction as local meat.)
It is also known as one of the best restaurants in the city and even the country.. The interior design is reminiscent of the Ottoman period.. Prices are the same as in Arzu.
- Address : 42 Ibrahimova | 114/1, str.. Kievskiy (Togolok Moldo), Bishkek 720021, Kyrgyzstan
3. Supara
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants adorned with Kyrgyz culture.. In Bishkek, about 25-30 minutes from the city. Even though you can’t see the nomadic life in place, you can more or less imagine it in such a restaurant.
<
You can not only eat in Bozüy tents, but also watch dance and music shows.. One of my 3 favorite restaurants.
- Address : Karagul Akmata st., 1a, Bishkek 720000, Kyrgyzstan
4. Red Cow
If you are looking for a steak house, this is one of the best in Bishkek.. Both the place was beautiful and the food was delicious.
As for the prices: T Bone Steak was 750 SOM, cocktails were 200 SOM, Coke was 50 Som. Considering that 100 SOM is 5 TL, I say Kyrgyzstan is perfect.. That’s why.
- Address : 93 Toktogul, Bishkek 720000, Kyrgyzstan
5. Social Coffee
After visiting the parks during the day in Bishkek, we say let’s have a rest at the cafe.. This is actually both a cafe and a restaurant.
Prices are also very affordable: Cocktails are around 10 TL, Vodkas are around 5 TL, pasta is around 15 TL, steaks are around 35 TL.
- Address : Razzakova St., 62, Bishkek 720001, Kyrgyzstan
6. Mustafa
This was a local restaurant. There was a lot of Kyrgyz food. A friend of the driver brought us as well.. But we saw that there was not a single tourist other than us.. You know, we have “artisan restaurants”?. Heh that was such a place. As for the prices: Manty 140, Plov 150, Gosh-nan 140, Black Tea 35

7. Yaren Cafe
This is the Turkish restaurant in Bishkek. Its operators lived in Istanbul for years.. Then fate dragged them to Bishkek.
Now they run this nice restaurant. Don’t think of this place as an ordinary, wannabe Turkish restaurant abroad.. Whatever you are looking for, they are delicious just like in Turkey.. Not for the sake of it. I also wanted to write because I really appreciated it.
- Address : Cafe Yaren 100, Tynystanova st., Bishkek 720000, Kyrgyzstan
