By the way, if you are planning to go to Budapest, you can read about how to find a cheap flight ticket at here.
1. Budapest Ruin Bars
We start first with Ruin Bars, which is an indispensable part of Budapest nightlife.. Of course, if you’re hearing it for the first time, you might probably be asking, “What’s with Ruin Bar?”
Let me answer right away.. As the name suggests, ruin, or ruin, refers to places where the old buildings are brought back to life and transformed into bars, cafes and entertainment venues.
This Ruin Bar frenzy emerged as follows: After Hungary came out of the communist period, it was a ruin in need of care. The buildings and streets started to be beautified with the cooperation of the youth.
Of course, the young people, who were also thirsty for art due to the pressure brought by the communist era, were enraged. they managed to revive it.
I think they did very well.. Because you feel so comfortable in Ruin Bars that you want to spend time there day and night.
I think people are happier in places where they don’t really contract.. Personally, I felt very comfortable at Ruin Bars and had a lot of fun.
Another reason for my happiness was that even though it was so crowded, no one had fun without disturbing anyone. Only on the weekends, Ruin Bars get a bit more crowded, that’s all.
By the way, these inspiring and friendly places are open not only at night but also during the day.. While you sip your coffee calmly during the day and marvel at the colors and all the details, you also enjoy the comfort with beautiful music at night. You can make reservations at the ruinpubs where Ruin Bars are located.
As we understand the Ruin Bar logic, we can now move on to the places I will recommend:
By the way, Ruin Bars are included , 10 Legendary Reasons to Take a Trip to Budapest, Hungary be sure to read my post.
1.1 Szimpla Kert
First of all, one of Budapest’s most I wanted to start with the biggest and most famous Ruin Bar. Because this is Budapest’s first Ruin Bar, converted from a big factory.
Don’t mind me saying it’s just a bar.. In fact, you have what you look for in Szimpla.. In fact, let me list everything down one by one:
- A large open courtyard,
- Top floor playing quality music,
- Each one with a different design rooms,
- 5-6 different bars, including a hookah and cocktail bar,
- Live music on certain days of the week,
- Movie screenings,
- Coffee and wine making courses,
- Circus of Briga (2. The market where bicycles, accessories, recycled jewelry and other items are sold)
- The farmers’ market that opens to the courtyard road on Sunday and
- Some of the amazing pizzas I can count.
So you see, this Ruin Bar is pretty functional.. It is a place where you can have a great time not only at night but also during the day.
When you go, make sure to wander through the rooms on the upper floor one by one.. They all have a different atmosphere.. All items that we can call debris have come to life with art.
Maybe none of the strange antiques match, maybe there are holes in the pipes on the wall, but that’s the thing.. You feel so comfortable and happy in the old days that you live the present time among your memories.
Even if you are not interested in nightlife, I would definitely add it to your list of places to visit in Budapest as a daytime activity.
If you are going to rent a car in Hungary: Use THIS SITE
Also, if you come during the day, make sure to coincide with Sunday, you will see the organic market as well.. And after the market, don’t forget to eat the excellent pizzas of Szimpla Kert and taste the Hungarian Beer.. (Like Dreher Beer, which is not lost in Budapest.)
- Prices: Beers are around 300-500 HUF. No entrance fee.
- Address: 7. District Erzsébetváros, Kazinczy Sokak, no 14, 1073 Budapest

I have explained every place where you can visit during the day while having fun at night in my Places to Visit in Budapest article. I say definitely read it.
1.2 Doboz
This is one of the good Ruin Bars of Budapest, which is also equipped with different designs.. It has a capacity of 1500 people and has 2 different dance floors.
In addition, the bar’s DJ excites the visitors with 8 different music styles 4 days a week.. Of course, people get hungry when they jump and get tired.
That’s why 1. there is a street food bar on the floor where you can find good burgers and sandwiches all night.
Also, Doboz is full of dancers all night long.. And if you want, you can organize your own ‘house party’ here, just for you.

1.3 Anker’t
Let’s go to Ruin Bar, which has the biggest courtyard in Budapest.. Again, this is a beautiful place where you can immerse yourself in music amongst the wonders of art hung on the wall.
It’s a place converted from an old factory to a bar.. You can have a good time both day and night. The cocktails are worth a try.
While it is a quiet place to eat and drink during the day, it gets very crowded and fun in the evenings.. No entrance fee.
Of course, this is a seasonal bar as it is an open space.. So autumn and winter are closed, spring and summer are open.
- Address: Paulay Ede u. no 33
- Opening – Closing Hours: Monday-Wednesday (14:00 – 00:00) – Thursday (14:00 – 01:00) – Friday-Saturday (14 :00 – 04:00) – Sunday (14:00 – 00:00)
1.4 Instant
This is also “I want Ruin Bar but I also dance” a place for those who say. If you’re looking for a huge place with different music playing in separate rooms and a place where you can have fun until the morning, let’s take you here, sir.
Instant is one of the biggest ruin bars in the city.. The 3-storey venue has more than 20 rooms, 6 bars and 3 different dance floors.. Also, the decoration of the place is quite interesting.. The first time you go, you don’t have to dance by looking around.
And if you’re from Erasmus you’ll definitely come here. Because the Erasmus student does not pass inside. I think there is an entrance fee when you go in quieter seasons, but we did not pay because we went towards summer.. (You can get information about Erasmus at Erasmus Conditions link)
- Address: 7. district, Nagymező Street, no 38, Budapest
- Opening – Closing Hours: Open daily from 10:00 to 6:00
The Ruin Bars I mentioned above are one of the leading ones in Budapest.. Ruin Bars are especially concentrated in the Jewish Quarter.. All of the things I have already mentioned are in this region.
To view all the hotels starting from 80 TL in the Jewish Quarter and its environs where nightlife is intense: Click
If you are going to Ruin Bar, your priority should be Szimpla Kert. Because when you say ‘Budapest Ruin Bar’, it’s the first place that comes to mind.. There is also Szimpla in Berlin, but the reality in Budapest is much different.
Ruin Bars are like this. Now for the crazy nightlife lovers, I say let’s move on to the Hamam parties :
2. Budapest Pool Parties
Thermal baths are one of the most important places to see in Budapest both during the day and at night.. When you think of Turkish baths, don’t think of indoor baths, but healing thermal water in an outdoor pool.
Places to Visit in Denizli, just like our Karahayıt Thermal Springs.. Of course, we don’t organize parties, that’s different.
There is an event called SPARTY, which was created by combining the words ‘Spa’ and ‘Party’ around here.. If you are going to be in Budapest in the summer and spring, you can dedicate your Saturday night to these crazy parties.
I even want to write down where you can prefer for Budapest pool parties right below:
2.1 Szechenyi Baths
2.1 Szechenyi Baths
strong>
Because Budapest is the ‘City of Baths’, there are actually a lot of hot springs. But Szechenyi Baths is the most famous and largest of these baths.. It is even referred to as the largest medical bath in Europe.
This historical thermal bath, located in the Budapest City Park, has many visitors both day and night.. Because there are 15 indoor saunas and 3 large outdoor swimming pools inside.
Of course, you can use the spa and massage services during the day, enter the healing pools and wander around..
As you can guess at night; you can join crazy parties with music and laser visual effects.
I suggest you go especially in the spring months.. Because it’s much nicer to get into hot water at those times.
And if you like different experiences in nightlife, I suggest you make a reservation.. It is definitely an unusual night.
If you want to go to the thermal bath day or night, I write the prices below:
- Széchenyi Thermal Bath Entrance Fee (daytime) : 20 € on weekdays – 21 € on weekends
- Széchenyi Thermal Bath Party Ticket: 50 €
If you are going to the hammam party If you want to join the tour, I suggest you make a reservation on the Bathsbudapest website before you take a tour of Budapest.
2.2 Lukacs
You can have fun and dance at the same time while getting wet with natural warm spring water in Lukacs Baths.
Lukacs’ logic is the same as Szechenyi’s. The only difference is that it’s smaller.. Again, you can come here for parties both during the day and at night.
Of course, there is no night party every day in all hamams.. There are thermal pool parties only on Saturdays.. Prices are as follows:
- Lukacs Thermal Bath Day Ticket with Locker Usage: Weekdays: 3,700 HUF – On weekends and holidays: 3,900 HUF
- Lukacs Thermal Bath Party Ticket:
strong>50 €
strong>
. And even if you don’t go to party during your Budapest tour, you should definitely visit during the day.
Since we talked about Ruin Bars and pool parties, which are the most famous nightlife part of Budapest, now we can move on to classic nightclubs :
By the way, be sure to read my Budapest Travel Guide article where you can find answers to all your questions before you go on a tour of Budapest.
3. Budapest Nightclubs and Bars
From the beginning, I’ve always been talking about the Old Jewish Quarter.. Because the heart of Budapest nightlife beats in this region.
Many of the nightclubs and bars are also located in this region, among the Ruin Bars.. Some are also close to the Jewish Quarter and on the Pest side.
If you want to travel around Europe by train: Interrail What is it read my post
If you say “Brother, I go to Ruin Bar, but I do not miss my nightclub and bar”, I am writing some clubs and bars of Budapest below:
<
3.1 Peaches and Cream
This is one of the most touristic clubs in Budapest. The prices are a bit salty, but the inside is quite fun.
Also, it is located on the same street as the Instant venue I mentioned above in the Ruin Bar section.. Generally, young people prefer. That’s why you’re having a good time.
<
When you enter the venue before 22:00, you get a free pass. Otherwise, there is a fee for entry.
- Prices: Cocktails are around 2000 HUF.
- Address: Nagymezo Utca 46 – 48, Budapest
- Opening – Closing Hours: 22:00 – 05:00
To view all the hotels starting from 80 TL in the nightlife hotspots: Click
3.2 Hello Baby Bar
The bar in Oktogon Square is a beautiful bar. a preserved 19. It has a magnificent architectural structure as it is from the palace of the 19th century.
The courtyard of the bar is wide, so you can dance comfortably.. Electronic music is usually played in the large area of the venue.. But other than that, you can spend the night in a small room with R&B music.
- Prices: Friday – Saturday: 1000 HUF entrance fee.
- Address: Andrassy ut 52, Budapest 1062
3.3 Romkert
This is located on the Buda side, right by the Danube. only open in summer. Because it’s an open nightclub.
It gets crowded during the months it’s open.. Pretty fun place. What makes Romkert special is that it is located in a location where you can see Gellert Hill.
But it is very difficult to find a place for yourself because it is very full.. The prices are also above the average, for your information.
- Prices: Entry is free
- Address: Dobrentei ter 9., Budapest 1013, Hungary
- Opening – Closing Hours: 00:00 – 05:00 (weekdays vary)
3.4 A38
Now I would like to suggest a venue other than regular nightclubs. That is the A38 ship, where the cargo ship has been converted into a restaurant and crazy party area.
The ship is anchored on the Buda side of the city, between the Rakoczi and Petöfi Bridges on the Danube.. Of course, the ship is closer to the Petöfi Bridge, 10 minutes’ walk away.
By the way, the ship has 3 floors.. Roof terrace, restaurant – lounge and club. Although their prices are above average, they have excellent beers, wines and cocktails.
The dance floor and bar area on the upper deck is very lively, especially in fine weather.. Of course, the music continues not only here, but also on the lower deck.. That place is reserved for techno music lovers.
At the same time, world-famous DJs and artists take the stage at the A38 throughout the year.. I could not go, but I heard a lot about the reputation of this ship.
If you’re dreaming of a different Budapest night, consider this crazy nightclub gem after thermal pool parties.
- Prices: Beers between 390 – 1360 HUF , Between 1350 – 2650 HUF, if you want to eat, even just the soup starts from 950 HUF, for your information.
- Address: A38 Ship – Petofi Bridge Buda Side, Budapest
-
- Other Information: You can learn more about the A38 and the event dates on a38.hu.
Aside from these places I mentioned, there are a few places that make quality wines and cocktails. I would like to suggest more places:
- Tuk Tuk Bar and Warm Up Rustic:These two places make really good cocktails, I can recommend them with peace of mind. Cocktail prices are around 1000 – 1500 HUF. (Addresses respectively: Paulay Ede u. 31 – Kertesz u. 39)
- Kisuzem: If you are looking for a less touristy bar, I can recommend this place. A place where locals usually go, where both food and drinks are good.. (Address: Kis Diófa u. 2)
This is how Budapest nightclubs and bars. The music played in nightclubs is generally electronic and R&B.
Very crowded venues. There can be long queues at the gates, especially on weekends.
If you ask me, I would say choose Ruin Bars, which are identified with the city, when you come to Budapest.. Maybe you won’t get what you expect from a nightclub, but you can definitely have fun without contraction.
You can review all the hotels in Budapest, Hungary, from this link.
4. My Warnings About Budapest Nightlife
Finally, I would like to make some warnings that you should keep in mind before going to Budapest nights.. Namely:
- Don’t ask anyone to help you, so don’t trust them.
- Do not go to places that are not heard and that you do not feel safe.. Even though they don’t want an entrance fee, they can make a ridiculous request such as an exit fee.
- Do not mess with the place you do not trust again.. Otherwise, you may have to pay a hefty bill.
- Women of BudapestBe careful with (Budapest prostitutes). They want to take you to their places and you have to pay a lot of bills again.
- Finally, do not ask the taxi drivers to take you to the places they have contracted with.. They charge serious commissions.
