We are arranging our desert safari in Dubai through our hotel.. 4×4 Toyota jeep is coming to pick us up. When we started to speak Turkish in the vehicle, the driver said, “Oh, are you Turkish?” enters into love. He also came from Turkey, it was a nice coincidence for us.. He also put Demet Akalın, the only Turkish CD he had.. Now we are ready to go. Of course, think about the harmony in listening to Demet Akalın in the deserts…
After a little break before the safari, we enter the desert.. Generally, vehicles gather and go on safari together.. If someone stays on the road, others support. They were going through a separate training for desert safari driver.. Our Hanefi was the only Turkish driver among about 300-400 drivers.. Before starting the safari, our driver lowers the tire pressures.. This is the trick of navigating on the sand.
Vehicles can stand upright up to 70-80 degrees.. It’s like the road is ending, we’re going down steep slopes. A truly excellent experience. It is now understood why special training is required for safari driver.
After a wonderful safari tour of about 30-40 minutes, we reach the area where we will have dinner in the desert in the evening.
Where we will eat. When they came to the place, they set up a small track there.. We also enjoy driving in the sand with small ATVs.. But here you have to act fast. Since the number of ATVs is limited, you can use it for 15 minutes for the price you pay.. Then there are those who try to grab the ATV you got off while you were getting off.. No order and no order. For this reason, you should act aggressively while riding the ATV.
Then we go to the area surrounded by small tents set up in the desert.. We watch the sun set over the desert and the reddening sands at the hour that coincides with the sunset.. They arranged the tables radially around a large stage, and there are tents around.. There are small shops selling various souvenirs or food here.
It is free to have a 10 cm long Indian henna.. If you want more, you can decorate your whole body with really cool motifs for a very small fee.. It lasts for about a week when it’s done.
Then we get our meals in line.. It’s like a barbecue buffet.. The food is the same, but the men and women queue separately.
After the meal, the dance show starts on the middle stage.. Although mostly oriental, we sometimes watch local dances that Arab men participate in.
We have a very pleasant journey on the way back.. Our driver also had a small photographer’s tent at the place where he ate in the desert.. Awaiting his father’s arrival in the evening, 5-year-old Eren joins us on the return journey.. An incredibly smart boy, he makes us laugh until our stomach hurts with what he says and does.
In general, desert safari should also be on the must-do list in Dubai.
