Freedom passes through Istiklal

The images that come to mind when freedom is mentioned have always changed from person to person.

What the word freedom evokes in me has always been “Istanbul”.. I still carry traces of Istanbul, where I went to Istanbul for the first time with my family at a very young age.. Every place where Issız Adam, which left its mark on the last days, was filmed is a center of attraction that fascinates me.

Beyoğlu, Istiklal Caddesi, Galatasaray, Cihangir, Tarlabaşı, Karaköy…

Places where you can catch something different at every step, every glance. This must be the reason why I come back with an interesting and different memory each time.

While every step around the square excites me; One of the moments I was most excited about was watching the Germany-Turkey match in the European Football Championship on the giant screen with thousands of people.

Istiklal Street, which started with the crowd waiting to meet in front of Burger King, hosts a very serious history with architectural reflections. The street, which is as crowded as possible every hour, embraces people from many different strata.

Many people who would not normally be able to come together are walking in the crowd without hesitation.

Along the tram line, when the sound of the tram sounds like a lullaby to your ears. the ones who wake you up are usually the street kids chasing the tram.

The street is divided in the brains at regular intervals.. Although the section from the Square to Ağa Mosque is called the first stage, the end of the first stage is usually Galatasaray High School.

The second stage starts with Galatasaray High School and ends at the Swedish Consulate or Tünel, the last stop of the Tram.

Whistle whistles or groups performing actions are also common in Istiklal, where no one looks at anyone, people of all disguises walk freely, sometimes shouting and singing, and sometimes romance reaches its peak.

The most It’s not far from here, at the point where batons are targeted at times when you want to be free.. However, there is no giving up. There is something unifying here.

This is a stereotypical street where everyone makes their voices heard or at least tries to be heard.

While popular songs rise from different passages, it is sometimes a pleasure to listen to the same song from the beginning in front of each one. Sometimes there is torture.

All kinds of groups, individuals or organizations, from the most extraordinary groups to student associations, prefer to make their voice heard on this street. He spends time on the street.

When you start to go down the tunnel a little bit, you come across the Galata Tower, which has always managed to attract attention with its historical texture and stories.

The tower, which was captured by the Turks with the conquest of Istanbul, is a historical peninsula. It has a panorama that can see the Golden Horn, Üsküdar, Kadıköy and even the Islands.. It’s impossible to get enough of Istanbul from a 360-degree angle.

After going to the top of the tower with the elevator inside the tower, a bird’s eye view of Istanbul will be good for every body.

While it is a source of happiness to find the stairs open on the way back, it is a source of happiness. Although going down to the entrance of the tower creates some uneasiness, it is not as overwhelming as feared…

Istiklal Caddesi, Tünel and Beyoğlu…

The place where freedom is best observed in Turkey!
