A Fashion Movement with Colorful Patterns: 8th Act

8th Act; Although it is a brand that has just joined us, with its super-energetic stance and youthful attitude, it is like what we have known for a long time.. While we find ourselves in one-sentence mottos that add identity to their designs, I have no doubt that we will become more attached to these colors every day.. The essence of the word; Now it’s time to choose a route from the colorful pattern journeys of Betül Demirkol and Ecem Dursun, the creators of the 8th Act, and feel the street fashion in its most conceptual form, and be free like colors.. The only thing we need is; An 8th Act design in the closest place to us.

It was a New Year’s Eve special design meeting, it was their market Then, the 8th Act appeared in many places with its patterns that were immediately evident.. You’ve probably come across and met them in the boutique section of Union 22, one of the hip places in Nişantaşı, or in Selfestate in Galata.. It is impossible to miss the colorful patterns they bring together with basic forms.. In order for you to get to know them better, I talked to Betül Demirkol and Ecem Dursun, the creators of the 8th Act, where the spirit of street fashion was brought into a concept brand form with color and graphic movements, about their brand new brands and their first collections.. These days, they’re working on a similar style of spring/summer collections; But be prepared for surprises! I am sure that these two will go beyond the basic forms with a wide variety of complementary alternatives and bring a full collection to the 8th Act.

8th Can we get to know the Act? How do you define your brand?

The foundation of the 8th Act dates back to our university years. As two close friends, we graduated from Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty/Textile and Fashion Design Department in the same term.. Both of our majors are pattern design, and therefore, we were always intertwined with colors, various forms, different surface designs and paints throughout the university.. Our aim in continuing our studies in this main art branch; to popularize pattern design, to make it usable in every field, and to make people adopt that fashion can actually be a reflection of even a painting.. Finally, the 8th Act emerged as a pattern-oriented, dynamic, alternative, young brand aiming to instill the perception of ‘full print’ to everyone who identifies with this idea.. The feedback we get with the first collection of bananas motivates us.. We would like to add accessories, hats, socks and bags to our collection in the near future.. As 8th Act, we aim to be a versatile concept brand in the future.

Why 8th Act?

We can say that we went through eight main stages while establishing the 8th Act.. When we say pattern design, fabric selection, creating the pattern, according to us, ‘8. was to reach people who would adopt our ‘movement’ patterns.. At the same time, the word ‘Action’, which means movement, defines us literally.. Our brand sets out from the concept of ‘action painting’, which reflects splashes and sprays of color and tone.. After all, the motto of the 8th Act is ‘Action in Colors’, which means movement in colors.

When we look at the designs, we see a colorful pattern scale. We see. What is the story or motto in your designs?

Our first collection came out with 12 different patterns. Each pattern in the collection has a name and motto.. In 8th Act designs, everyone can choose the idea that suits them and meet with their favorite patterns.. For example; In our ‘Kea’ pattern we say ‘be free as colors’, in ‘Matrix’ we say ‘allow the feelings that describe you’. ‘Pops’ means ‘real action comes from within’ for us. On ‘Cob Web’, it says ‘allow action to be free’.

How style us in the first collection waiting?

Our first collection consists of basic unisex sweatshirts and tights. The street-fed attitude of the 8th Act complements each other with graphic-heavy patterns and designs in a comfortable form.
