Skagway is located in the northernmost part of Alaska, called Inside passage. Skagway it is very impressive with every part of it.. We walk into a bar called the Mascot Saloon. At the entrance, there are mannequins describing that period.. The bars in Skagway were originally inside the tent. This hall was built in 1898. There were 80 bars during the gold rush period, but these bars were also used as transportation offices.. However, in 1899, when the state demanded a tax of $ 1,500 from each bar as operating cost, some of these bars had to be closed.
They have a dessert called Alaskan Fudge.. I definitely recommend you try it.
A musical about the gold rush period is on display in the hall called FOE.. Really colorful and nice show. With this 1-hour show, you can feel that era more closely.
