Belarus Visa Status

Places to Visit in Minsk

1. Independence Square

I say hello to Minsk by visiting one of the most important squares of Minsk. This is Independence Square.

The square is right there. a statue of Lenin in the middle; Just behind it is the Church of St. Simon and Helene.. It used to be called Lenin Square.. It is also one of the largest squares in Europe.

2. Church of St. Simon and Helena

The church, also known as the “Red church”, is located just behind Independence Square. You will already see that it says hello to you with its crimson tile tower.

This church, which was completed in 1910,. It was designed by the Polish architect Tomasz Pajzderski at the time.. It took 5 years to build. Admission is free of course.

4. Town Hall and Park

5. Holy Spirit Church

located just behind the Town Hall; This church, which means Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Turkish, is a very, very valuable religious building in Belarus.. Why ?

Because this is the central cathedral of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. You can understand it from the air inside.. The construction of the church is also quite old: It was built between 1633 and 1642.

6. Bar Street (on Ulitsa Zybitskaya street)

As I walk from the church to the river, I realize something: I love this area. Eki in the city mood. No cars on the streets. River on one side, parks on the other. What’s more !

7. Graffiti Street

I want to go to a different part of Minsk now. The place I’m going to now is a city that hosts the beauties I love the most, smells like streets, and locals struggle to have art in a city.

8. Gorky Park

Gorky park, aka Maksim Gorky Central Children’s Park, is actually a public park in Belarus. Park built in the 1800s. It was named after the famous Russian writer Maxim Gorky.

There are Ferris wheels, ski areas, activity centers in the park.. It would be great in the spring and summer seasons. For your information.

9. War History Museum (Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War)

All the places I have described so far were in the center of Minsk. In other words, you can reach all points on foot in maximum 30 minutes.. For what I’m about to tell you, you will either have to go by car or by taxi.

The Museum of War History, is my next stop and I really love it here.. 2nd. This is an extraordinary museum that reveals the events of World War II.. They are also very successful in this regard.

10. Library (National Library of Republic of Belarus)

Belarusian National Library welcomes me with its splendid appearance, more like an entertainment center than a library.

3 days weren’t enough for Minsk. As Minsk Nightlife is so beautiful, there is not much time left for the day. Also, dusk was falling very early. So, in case you go to Minsk and you have time :

  • Belarussian State Circus : Circus. They praised this place so much.. time is not enough. By the way, it was one of the proper circuses.. FYI.
  • National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre : If you haven’t watched an opera and ballet show, I suggest you add this place to your list.. But before going, you have to buy tickets online.
  • The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus : Museum lovers should not skip this museum. A rich museum that has made its mark on the lists as one of the 3 best museums in Belarus. You can also check out other museums on Tripadvisor.
