Butterfly Valley: Paradise of Ölüdeniz

Butterfly Valley, with a history of 2500 years, is a paradise with a unique beauty located in the Oludeniz neighborhood of Fethiye district of Muğla.. Butterfly Valley, located at the foot of Babadağ, where paratroopers jump, in Ölüdeniz, was founded in 1995.. It has been declared a natural protected area, so no construction is allowed here.. Butterfly Valley, which is home to many endemic species, is home to more than 80 butterfly species from which it is named.. The most well-known of these butterflies is the tiger butterfly.. Among the plant species in the valley, there are many species such as thyme, olive, laurel, oleander, carob.. In the Butterfly Valley, which has a depth of 350-400 meters, there is a waterfall whose source is Faralya Village and pours from a height of 50 meters.. Butterfly Valley is among the places with the best view in Turkey, I am sure it will be in the top 3. The view of the valley from above is legendary.

BUTTERFLY VALLEY CAMP

Although no construction is allowed in Butterfly Valley, accommodation can be made in bungalows and camping areas in the valley. If you want, you can camp with your own tent at the campsites here for a fee.. There is also a free campsite here.. This campground is located on the mountain side just behind the beach in Butterfly Valley.. Its location is here. This campground is in a good location for scenery. The family living near the area receives 2 TL as toilet fee and 5 TL as shower fee.. There is a grocery store within walking distance of the area, but come with food supplies.

The best activities to do in Butterfly Valley include swimming, diving and trekking.. You think you are in another world in the Butterfly Valley, whose nature and sea are legendary.. In addition to the activities mentioned above, you can also have the opportunity to discover the butterflies that give the valley its name.. Butterflies are not available in all seasons.. Don’t forget to see the tiger butterfly, one of the butterflies that usually appear in spring.

WHEN TO GO TO BUTTERFLY VALLEY ?

Butterfly Valley from April to the end of October.. If you are going to the valley for the sea, of course, the summer months are the most ideal.. Let me point out here. Do not expect too much from the waterfalls here, as the flow rate of the waterfalls in the valley drops in summer.

On the way to Faralya Village from Ölüdeniz, there is a fountain and a rocky spot infested by bees, where vehicles stop at the first bend of the Butterfly Valley.. At this point, you can take exquisite photos like us.. You can shoot awesome videos, especially if you have a drone.. here I’m leaving the location of this observation hill.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please, please don’t get too close to the cliff sides of the rocks while I’m trying to get the best picture.. Be very, very careful about this.. There were those who fell from here and unfortunately died here !

BUTTERFLY VALLEY BEACH

To Butterfly Valley Beach You can only reach daily boat tours, minibus boats and walking into the valley from above.. Butterfly Valley Beach is a stony beach. The sea deepens after 5-6 meters. It is quite crowded in the summer and many daily boats come here.. There is a business at the entrance of the valley at the food and beverage point. I would definitely say go here once in your life.

WHERE AND HOW TO GET TO BUTTERFLY VALLEY ?

To reach the Butterfly Valley, you first need to go to Ölüdeniz.. You can go to Faralya Village with the minibuses departing from Ölüdeniz and go down the paths (these roads are quite dangerous) from here.. At this point, if your shoes are not good or you have little trekking experience, be very, very careful.. When you go down to the valley, you can also go to the waterfall flowing at the lowest point.. If you do not prefer walking, the best way is to reach by boat.. Butterfly Valley is definitely on the route of Oludeniz daily boat tours and they take a break for 1 hour here.. If you want to spend a longer time, the ideal option is the dolmus boats.. Round trip by minibus to Butterfly Valley 50 TL (2020 price).
