It all started with the announcement of our gourmet friend Orhan Şanlı that he would attend a gourmet event at Cafe Locale, one of the places to go with children.. Just as there is no wedding without a camber, this event cannot be without me as a wandering gourmet sitting next to Cafe Locale.. Even if it is, it would be incomplete 🙂 Actually, I come to Cafe Locale with my wife in the first week of its opening, we are amazed by the size of the place and the beauty of the giant tree in the middle of it.. They have made a solid investment here, we wonder if they can fill it.. Seeing that they are very busy even on weekdays is a blessing to this event.. On a cold February evening, Cafe Locale’s manager Gülseren Alkan, PR’s Dilanur Esen and Burcu Kalkavan from bloggers Orhan Şanlı, Burak Makaracı and We are starting a nice tasting event with Zeynep Ceylan. Accompanied by Lamberti Pinot Grigio white wine chosen for us by wine sommelier Özgür Kızıl Bey, brie and roquefort from the French, gouda representing the Netherlands, As the Turkish power, we are opening with a cheese plate consisting of old cheddar and smoked cheese. While we chat with Sommelier Özgür Bey about the variety of wine at Cafe Locale, artichoke with avocado, one of the specialties of the place, is among the starters.. Since I am not an artichoke sympathizer, I only state that the bland taste of avocados disappears when taken with artichokes, and that they complement each other in this sense, while the artichoke lovers at our table give full marks to this specialty and they strongly condemn the fact that I have nothing to do with artichokes 🙂 I am a carnivore friend, come to me from there 🙂 When it comes to Sommelier, it is a wine expert with a short definition, and a wine expert with a long definition, in many areas such as purchasing, storing and presenting wine, informing the customer about the wines suitable for the customers’ choice of food. specialized person. In other words, it is a specialty that comes to mind when the wine expert is mentioned, different from that of the degusters who examine the wine by seeing, smelling and tasting…. Even though this concept is served in a basket alongside beer in general in restaurants, since we are still in the wine tasting mode with cutlery and pinky fingers in the air, our mixed frying plate is served to our plates with tongs, seeing the care that it has never seen before, and is consumed with pleasure.
During the conversation, I told Ms. Gülseren that there are no children’s playgrounds in cafe-restaurant-style venues on the Anatolian side, and that this is actually a great need.. Ms. Gülseren also states that they have a huge playground that always has her play sister.. I am both surprised and delighted. To have a restaurant with a children’s playground, eat fish or kebab, how far is it?
And here comes the difference maker of the night for me.. Lamb’s ear salad with green apples topped with goat cheese dates. The harmony of melted goat cheese in pitted dates and dates is astonishing.. I can’t get enough of the food…
And two more specials for the place. Mini pie with likes and Artichoke wrapped in Bresaola (Italian pastrami) >… There is definitely an artichoke lover among those who prepared the menu 🙂
Now it’s time to move on to the main dish. Our chief Mr Müslüm takes the stage. We start with Turkish delight… The inside of the Turkish delight, which comes to the table in a hot cast iron pan, loses its pinkness while waiting for Dilanur and me.. We don’t experience a flavor explosion. But we admit that we are the only guilty ones 🙂
Mr. Özgür replaces our white wine with Mon Reve Tempranillo branded red wine when we switch to red meat.. This soft-tasting wine appeals to me more than Lamberti. While we continue with the meat, Müslüm Chef asks us for pieces, and we prefer lamb chops.. The chops are coming, the chops are coming. No such cooking consistency, no such flavor. Sealed meat leaks when cut. Well done to my chef… We make the finale with cake variations and coffee selected from Locale’s cake showcase.. It’s time to say goodbye.
