Our introduction to
Camel Beach dates back to 15 years ago.. When we came to Bodrum for the first time, we had no idea where to swim.. When our family friend, who has been living in Bodrum for years, told us to go to Kargı Bay without hesitation, and that we would thank her later, we were quite excited and set off.. And just as he said, we loved Kargı Bay, we even loved it so much that we bought our first summer house in Bodrum from Bağla.. Come and go, 15 years have passed, we moved to Yalıkavak, but when we still yearn for the sea, we come to Kargı Bay to Camel Beach.
How is the Sea of Camel Beach?
Although Bodrum is surrounded by bays on all four sides, Kargı Bay is another. It is always my favorite with its long beach and glassy sea!
Camel Beach, also known as Camel Beach. If you ask what’s the relevance of camels, there are camels you know here. In the past, you could go for a tour on the beach by riding camels, but now camel tours are held in a small area, not on the beach, and are purely aimed at attracting the attention of tourists. somebody. For this reason, the crowd increases considerably at noon in the summer.
The area called Camel Beach is actually Kargı Bay.. I think this is one of the cleanest and most beautiful bays of Bodrum.. First of all, the sea is all sand, so you don’t have any difficulties in getting in and out.. The fact that it doesn’t get deep right away is an advantage for both families with children and newbies to swim.
If you want to go deep, you have to swim a lot. If you like to jump from the pier, there is a long pier as the boats dock.. If you come early in the morning, a glassy sea awaits you, so that you can see the fish without wearing goggles.
As the bottom is sand, water can be found more easily in crowded times.. The water may seem a bit cool at first, but then your body gets used to it and you don’t want to get out of the sea.. When you compare it to holiday destinations in the south like Antalya, Bodrum’s sea remains cold. Unless the weather is extremely windy, the sea is smooth, almost like a sheet in the morning.
Camel Beach Entrance Fee
Unfortunately, the number of places where you can swim for free in Bodrum is very few.. You can also park your car at Camel Beach by paying a fee, and you can use sun loungers and umbrellas for daily spending limit.
Akpınar and Efem Restaurant Businesses that have been serving in Camel Beach for many years. Since it was our house in the previous years, the site was renting a place from here seasonally. When you come to Camel Beach, you can see the names and sunbeds-umbrellas of various sites.. Only site residents can benefit from these places.
We last visited Camel Beach in September 2019. We parked our car without paying a parking fee as it was off season. When we come here, our choice is usually Efem Restaurant. In the season, the spending limit is 40 TL per person. But we only paid for what we ate. The advantage of coming to Bodrum in autumn.
A voucher is issued to you at Efem Restaurant, with this voucher you can eat and drink from inside. Sunbeds and umbrellas are also included.. You can have your meal on the beach or in the restaurant.. Although there are options such as pizza, hamburger, chicken skewers, grilled meatballs, pancake-tea is my favourite.
Let me also talk about the food and beverage prices of Efem Restaurant: Efem burger 30 TL, margarita pizza 24 TL, mixed sandwich 22 TL, glass of tea 5 TL, cola 10 TL, Efes beer 24 TL. (September 2019 prices) Let me remind you that the place has shower, dressing cabin and WC facilities.
How to Get to Camel Beach?
When you proceed from Ortakent and follow the turn sign to Akyarlar, you will see the magnificent view of Kargı Bay after a few kilometers. When you go down the winding road, you can easily see the Camel Beach sign.. It is also possible to reach Camel Beach by daily tour boats.
Let me remind you that minibus services are also organized from Bodrum center to Camel Beach during the season, but the journey takes about 45 minutes. It is possible to reach Bodrum center by car in 25-30 minutes depending on the traffic.

Short Camel Beach Notes
- If you come early in the summer, you won’t have any trouble finding space.. It gets very crowded especially on weekends.
- All of the businesses are paid, but don’t expect luxury.. Moderate places.
- If you have the opportunity, if you come after April, May or September, everywhere is free 🙂 It’s great to enjoy the sea without anyone! If you want to relax, choose low season.
- Be ready to hear all kinds of music as tour boats arrive around 12:00.. For a few hours the place is full of strangers. When the boats are gone, the surroundings are calmer.
- You can walk from the seaside to Yahşi, the beach is very wide.
- If you have children, they can play comfortably in the sand, and the shallow sea allows them to swim safely.
