When I ask what awaits you at the end of the road, is it the beauty you aim for or the memories you have accumulated on the way, I can say that this route is indisputably both.. Because on this trip, on the one hand, you will feel the excitement of reaching a magnificent travel destination when you set foot in the city for your Nice Travel route, on the other hand, you will set off from Nice to Saint Paul De Vence, Villafranche-Sur-Mer, Eze, Antibes, Cannes, St.. On the French Riviera route, which includes St. Tropez and Marseille, you will memorize the unforgettable landscapes.. We will even stop by Monaco, the second smallest country in the world, on the way! If you are ready, let’s start our itinerary with Cote d’azur Travel Guide and Nice Places to Visit.

We traveled our Cote d’azur travel route by combining it with the Italian coastline.. ITALY & FRANCE TRAVEL GUIDE – ROAD TRIP PLANNING

InstagramContact me on my account, let’s talk about all travel topics

In Which Season Where to go?

Under normal circumstances, I always recommend the spring months for European destinations, but I think this route is definitely summer route! If you want a lively Nice travel experience, if you want to enjoy the turquoise blue sea of Nice and feel the holiday spirit, you should come to the Cote d’azur region, which can be called Europe’s honeymoon destination, in summer.. Yes, it can be very hot from time to time while visiting the villages, towns and cities in the vicinity by car, but that is the spice of travel.

Cote d’Azur Route & Planning – How Many Days to Visit?

During the trip, we stayed in Nice for 3 nights and spent 1 full day in the center of Nice . If you have the necessary time, you can think of it as 2-3 days, which is ideal for Nice centre.. However, there is an important issue, please do not limit this trip to Nice, because the beaches of France promise you an unforgettable road trip.. There are so many places to see!

We traveled the route Saint Paul De Vence, Villafranche-Sur-Mer, Eze, Monaco Monte Carlo for 1 day.

We visited Antibes and Cannes for 1 day and stayed in Marseille that night.

From Marseille for 1 day St.Tropez and completed our route.

We completed the Cote d’Azur (French Riviera) region on our France excursion route in the following order.

  • Nice: We loved it, it’s an incredibly enjoyable city. It doesn’t have a crazy long list for touristic, maybe places to visit, but it’s a point-and-shoot in terms of vacation.. Lots of food and entertainment options, beautiful streets, deep blue sea in the city center fascinates you.. Since its energy is very high, the environment is always lively..
  • Saint Paul De Vence: Fairytale town. It’s a very photographic stop, where not everyone gets off course.. It’s not as classic as Eze Village. It has a fairy-tale style that will make you feel the feeling.
  • Villafranche-Sur-Mer: Whether you enjoy the sea or have a cold drink in the tiny streets, mingle with the people. A location you will definitely enjoy. Luxury vacationers, who seem to have come from the hills to conquer the Mediterranean with their yachts, offer a different photographic view.
  • Eze: Confession: I couldn’t love it too much! I don’t want to compare, but it didn’t have the effect of Saint Paul on me.. Still, of course it’s beautiful, after all, Nietzsche wrote his book “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” here.. The most popular event is to see the cactus garden on the hill.
  • Monaco: The smallest country in the world after the Vatican. You see, hop France finished Monaco started. It’s a very rich place, but you should go there to take in the atmosphere of the Monte Carlo casino and watch the scenery from the cliffs.
  • Antibes: Neither overly touristic nor magnificent, but this ordinariness makes it so. makes it livable and very enjoyable. Stroll in and out of everywhere from the marina to all its old streets. You can have breakfast at Paul patisserie, thank you for every croissant you eat
  • Cannes: The bad news will not be a film festival mood waiting for you! Cannes, which we expected very cool, is actually beautiful, you can swim in the sea, but it still cannot meet the expectation it creates.. There was a lot of traffic, and I would say it was not worth it to see those red carpet stairs and the building where the awards were given at the film festival.
  • St.. Tropez: Isn’t that cool? On this beautiful coastline, which is the right address for beach parties and marginal activities, we were not in the mood to make kop kopecks when the Euro rates were like this.. Of course, we could not understand the full taste, but I think that if you go and stay for 1 night, the taste can be very different.. We really liked the famous cream dessert we ate here at La Tarte Tropezienne.
  • Marseille: We saw it from a port and went to the Allauch region. Since we went to the Balon Hotel, we did not spend time in Marseille, but our friends said that it was too crowded, too crowded.. Maybe it can put you in a different mood after all these quiet resort towns, for better or for worse.

How to Travel to the Cote d’Azur? Rent a Car

You have to rent a car in order to do all this route..
Draw route on Google Maps so that you can see distances between countries and cities. If you go with Google Maps along the way, you will not have much trouble finding directions.. Since we can use our line abroad, we do not have internet problems on these road trips.. If you don’t have internet all the time, you may have a hard time finding directions.. Don’t forget to download offline maps for precaution..

Since we started the route of this trip from Italy, we rented our car from there and paid a total of 106 Euros for 8 days of rent.

1700 km in 9 days. we paid a total of 190 Euros for gasoline on this trip we made. Our Highway and parking cost also cost 134 Euros. Unfortunately, there are not many alternatives to go to the beach, you have to use the highway and cover these amounts.

Cote d’Azur Accommodation Recommendation

We chose Airbnb as our nice accommodation choice and We rented a house because we were 4 people.. Our house was very central, we were satisfied. Our hosts even left wine for us as a gift.. We paid a total of 206 Euros for 3 nights here. Since Nice is a very touristic and popular travel destination, I recommend that you handle your accommodation as you buy your flight ticket.. Airbnb click for our home.

Places to Visit in Nice

Vieux Nice The old city area is mostly the heart of Nice where you will spend your time. When you come down to the beach from here, what you see is Plage de Nice, that is Nice Beach.. Enjoy this public beach, swim, sunbathe. And the water is really clean.. For the sea, we chose to swim around the famous Hotel Negresco located on the Promenade des Anglais coastline with a nice postcard.. Then we dived into the parks and side streets and saw the famous square Massena Square
, where we even danced and played with the children by a fountain that gushed from the ground! And of course, we did not neglect to catch the sunset from
Nice Castle towards the blue waters at
Castle Hill to capture one of the most memorable moments.. The sky was incredible!

Nice Eating and Drinking Tips

La Shounga we are very happy because here we found the cheapest and delicious Mojito in Nice. We brought Mojitos here for 5 Euros and their hamburgers were also very successful.

La Voglia, on the other hand, earned the right to be among the ones I’ve eaten in Nice with its huge seafood pasta that I threw up with a bear.. Their pizza was also good, but the pasta was different.. Don’t forget, seafood is very famous in Nice, so you will be in a city where you can try delicacies such as oysters and mussels!

Le Comptoir Central Electrique is a place where we stop by in the evening and have a few drinks since it is over our Airbnb house. added to the list as a venue.

There are so many suggestions about eating and drinking in nice travel recommendations that it is not possible to try them all.. However, I can easily say that you are going to a city where you can find every flavor you want!. Ask yourself after this trip. Did the destination or the road itself affect you more? It is very difficult to answer. Good luck!
