Designed to have the most luxurious, best and biggest of everything, Dubai is popular from a quiet fishing town where pearls are mined. turned into a tourist destination. Places to visit in Dubai can be grouped under two main headings: modern district and traditional district.. The modern district includes rows of skyscrapers, huge shopping malls and luxury hotels, all of which come to mind on a Dubai trip.. We can also include our palm-shaped artificial island, which surprises with its beauty, in this part.. The traditional region is; It consists of a region consisting of bazaars, mosques and historical buildings stretching around Dubai Bay.
I grouped the close ones and divided them into three parts; if you have three days (which is usually the case) you can think of it like one day each. I also wrote how to get to the places I mentioned, so that those who plan to use public transport do not have to find the stops, but if you want, you can easily go to each of them by taxi.. You can read DUBAI TRANSPORTATION GUIDE for information on which transportation method you should use, how to buy tickets and what you should pay attention to.. Here is the map where I marked the main places so that you can visualize their locations and distances.
Information such as when to go, how long to stay, what to wear, where to stay, where to shop. You can review my DUBAI TRAVEL GUIDE for. Let me remind you that the United Arab Emirates requires a visa from Turkish citizens, so you should make sure that you have made the necessary preparations for the Dubai visa process before your trip.
Choose among the beautiful hotels of Dubai. Don’t forget to read my WHERE TO STAY IN DUBAI, where I make hotel recommendations that will make it easier for you to do; I have gathered for you the most beautiful hotels in the city center, on the beach, by the sea, on the palm island and near the airport.
p style=”text-align: justify;”>1. GROUP
Let’s start with the beach side, Dubai Marina area and Palm Island, where Europeans and wealthy Arabs generally live.
Jumeirah Beach Residence: Locals call this area JBR for short. The letter R at the end can be used as both residence and road.. You can take a walk along the promenade in the skyscrapers area on the coastline stretching for 1.7 km, and stop by your favorite shops and cafe-restaurants on the way.
JBR was one of the places to visit in Dubai that surprised me with its beauty; skyscrapers on one side, people walking along a beautiful road with a view of the bay on the other side, those who sit and chat, eat, even those who lie on the cushions and enjoy the open-air cinema on the giant screen with headphones, colorful lights and live music coming from the concert area at a point ahead.. You should not miss an evening walk and maybe dinner after dinner like I did here.. Or you can come and swim at the beaches during the day.
To reach JBR, you must first go to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers stop of the subway, then go to the tram stop of the same name and take Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 or 2 stops. You must get off at one of them.
Emirates Hills: Inspired and named after Beverly Hills, the district of villas and residences lags behind JBR towards land. If you’re wondering what the area where mostly expats live (Expat: a qualified person who has come to a country to work) looks like, you can stop by, but it’s not essential.
Dubai Marina : The artificial canal zone created by the extension of the Persian Gulf coastline has an abundance of Dubai’s famous skyscrapers. You can take in the views of modern Dubai by wandering around and examining the buildings.. Don’t miss the 73-storey Cayan Tower, 306 meters high, which will probably attract your attention with its twisted structure.. Opened in 2013 and the world’s tallest spiral building, Cayan Tower was designed by the same architectural firm as Burj Khalifa.
Dubai Internet City
, which is the technocity of Dubai and hosts many technology giants such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, HP with the advantages such as tax exemption. strong> is also located near the marina area.
You can get to Dubai Marina by getting off at the Damac Properties stop of the metro or at the Dubai Marina stop of the tram.
Skydiving, an amazing activity for adrenaline enthusiasts, is very famous in Dubai.. Airplane jumps with the company Skydive Dubai are made in this region.. I was one of the parachutes that you will see as a point higher up when you raise your head, you can read my DUBAI SKYDIVE article about my adventure.

Now it’s time to leave the mainland and go to the famous palm-shaped island
Palm Jumeirah: The name of the palm-shaped island, one of the symbols of Dubai Also called Jumeirah Island (Jumeirah Island) or Palm Island (Palm Island). Even interestingly translated into Turkish as Palm Jumeira
The island, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge and where settlement started in 2006, covers an area of more than 800 football fields in total and doubles the length of Dubai’s coastline. made it out. Actually, if you look at the map of Dubai, you will see that there are two of the palm-shaped islands.. The other one is called Palm Jebel Ali and although it has taken its main form, it is still under construction.. So visiting Palm Jumeirah will suffice.
Even the island’s public transport system, where only the very wealthy reside and the very wealthy tourists stay in luxury hotels, is separate from the rest of Dubai and of course more expensive. Take the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop and switch to the island-specific Palm Monorail. Your Nol card does not pass on this line and you buy separate tickets for 15 AED one way and 25 AED round trip (Taxi is more convenient if you are more than two people). The Palm Monorail line currently has two stops; Palm Gateway stop, where you will get off the tram and start your journey, and Atlantis Aquaventure stop, where you will go to the very tip of the island.. Explore your surroundings and marvel at the luxurious life here
Atlantis Hotel: Opened in 2008, the super-luxury hotel is located at the farthest end of Palm Island from the mainland. I think it’s a good idea to go to the Aquaventure Waterpark water park in the vicinity of Atlantis, The Palm and have fun with the ticket you buy and swim in the Persian Gulf on the private beach of the water park.. It would be appropriate to allocate at least 3-4 hours to Aquaventure Waterpark, or even more if you are going to use the beach.. I described the water park and the super fun day I spent there in the Dubai Activity Guide article, click here to review and book Atlantis The Palm hotel, which especially families with children will love.
Take a monorail line or a taxi. Let’s ride back to the mainland.
Mall of the Emirates: Inside the Emirates Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in Dubai, is the Middle East’s first indoor ski slope Ski Dubai. It’s interesting to see people skiing and boarding while it’s scorching outside, you can join them by buying a ticket.. There is also a game and entertainment area called Magic Planet.
I will not talk about the stores inside the mall and how many options there are.. You may have read or heard that Dubai is a shopper’s paradise and everything is cheap; but unfortunately this is no longer valid.. Since both the eyes of the men were opened and all prices were indexed to the dollar, they went crazy with the dollar.. Therefore, if you say that there is nothing cheap, but I would like to buy different things from stores that are not in Turkey, check the stores at this address and find where the ones that interest you and head towards the target.. Otherwise, you will get tired of just going from one extreme to the other and you will most likely not find what you are looking for.
There is a large Carrefour downstairs in Emirates Mall. I bought breakfast items such as water, bread-cheese-tomatoes and chocolate dates that I would take as a gift to Turkey from here.. There is a wide variety and prices are reasonable.. Also, if you need to change money, don’t forget to stop by the exchange office, it can be difficult to find later.
You can reach Mall of the Emirates by getting off at the metro stop of the same name.. The shopping mall and its activity areas are open between 10:00 – 22:00 from Sunday to Wednesday and 10:00 – 00:00 from Thursday to Saturday.
Madinat Jumeirah: One of the famous bazaars in Dubai. As someone who lives in Istanbul and has seen the Grand Bazaar, I am not impressed by the bazaar itself, but it is a beautiful place as it is on the beach and sees the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, one of the icons of Dubai.. The bazaar is open between 10:00 – 23:00. Cafe-restaurants gathered on the beach side open from 12:00.. You can go to Madinat Jumeirah by bus number 88, which passes near the Mall of the Emirates.
Wild Wadi Water Park: This is like Aquaventure. a water park. If going to Aquaventure did not fit your plan or if you want to go to both, you can choose. It’s not like either one is much better than the other.
Burj Al Arab (Arab Tower): The world’s first seven-star and most luxurious hotel in the shape of a sailboat, the symbol of modern Dubai. I wondered how much the nightgown was and looked at it; double room price starts around 8000 AED. You have to have a reservation for something to go inside, and the cheapest way is to have a drink or attend tea times.. 27 where it is mandatory to spend at least AED 350 per person. I have heard of the restaurant on the first floor, those who want to enter can examine it.. Taking pictures from afar was enough for me.
2. GROUP
I will try to gather the central part of Dubai, that is, the must-see places in the central region, in this group.
Business Bay region: As the name means Business Bay, a district full of skyscrapers with Dubai’s business centers. It’s not a place you should go and see; I wrote this part for informational purposes only.
Dubai Fountain: It was the biggest show-stopping fountain in the world. If you want, you can buy a boat tour for 65AED from where Burj Khalifa tickets are purchased and watch the show (it’s called The Dubai Fountain Lake Ride), but if you ask if it’s necessary, I think no
There is a noon show at 13:00 and 13:30 every day except Friday.. On Friday, it is held at 14:00 instead of 13:00.. It might be a better choice to go to the evening show; Show time every half hour from 18:00 to 23:00.
The fountain’s musical show starts on time and lasts only 2 minutes. So if you want to watch it, it’s a good idea to book your place a few minutes in advance.. Loud music in the square, gushing waters, crowds of people everywhere, Dubai Mall on one side and Burj Khalifa building on the other side, which looks dazzling with its light, create a beautiful atmosphere; I think you should definitely watch the fountain show.
Burj Khalifa (Caliphate Tower – Burj Khalifa): Renowned as the tallest building in the world and rivaling other tall rivals With a height of 828 meters, the 164-floor Burj Khalifa can be seen from almost anywhere in Dubai, with a difference of more than 100 meters.. The building, which was started to be built in 2004, was 100 years old in 2007.. doubled and 150. made of steel after floor. It was completed in January 2009 with the addition of the slender tower at the top, and opened in 2010.
122. floor contains the world’s highest restaurant At.mosphere. If you have a high budget, you can choose this restaurant instead of going up to the building that I will talk about shortly and watching the view.. You can send an e-mail to find out the minimum price to be spent on reservation and per person.. I heard it’s around AED 400, but anyone can ask for the current price.
144. The world’s tallest nightclub on the 158th floor. 124. and 148. Tickets are sold to the viewing terraces on the floors. Open from 08:30 to 00:00.
Burj Khalifa 124. floor – At the Top: 452 meters high. Expensive clocks, sunset hours for the best view. Depending on the season, the ticket price between these hours is 200 AED, the rest of the time 125 AED. In fact, if you know the exact time of sunset, you can watch the sunset before you go out and watch it again when you go out (you are so high), it sounds pretty interesting
I’m a ticket to the 22:30 session I bought. They also built the world’s fastest elevator for the world’s tallest building and 124. the floor is reached in only 60 seconds. It even comes out so fast that I felt the pressure change in my ears.
Burj Khalifa 148. floor – At the Top SKY: 555 meters high. 125. There are extra things such as the opportunity to go down to the floor and watch from there, and beverage service.. Open from 09:00 on Friday and other days from 12:00 to 23:00. Ticket price is 350 AED for sunset hours and 500 AED other times. That’s a bit expensive for me so 124. The At the Top ticket to the floor was enough for me. I don’t think it’s that fascinating anyway, you have a limited budget and you think where to trim it, you may not go to Burj Khalifa.
Dubai Mall: This is it. it’s the biggest shopping mall in the world and even walking from one place to another is enough to make the soles throbbing, I can’t think of trying to find anything in it.. Open from 10:00 to 23:00.
Dubai Mall – The area with Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa is called Downtown Dubai (Dubai Center). You can easily arrive by getting off at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall stop of the metro.. Click here to review and book hotels in Dubai city center.
Souk Al Bahar: Traditional food and goods bazaar. You can stop by while you wait or watch the Dubai Fountain show, it’s right there.
Emirates Towers: It consists of two skyscrapers with pitched roofs and was completed in 2000.. One of the towers is used as a hotel (309 meters high – 56 floors) and the other as a business center (355 meters high – 54 floors).. Because the ceilings of the business center are designed higher, the building is taller but has fewer floors. Knowing which buildings are and taking a picture of it from afar will be enough, I think you don’t need to go as far as it.
Jumeirah Mosque: Opens to visitors at 10:00 in the morning. Tours for 10 AED take 75 minutes. When I went, they said it was only possible to visit with a guided tour and I couldn’t go inside, but the mosque itself is beautiful.. Although there are buses in front of Dubai Mall, I recommend that you take a taxi if you are going to go because they do not pass right in front of it.. Or if your time is very limited, it can be one of the places to be eliminated.. Since Jumeirah Mosque is right in the historical area, which I will explain a little later, you can add it to a place in your trip in Bur Dubai if you want.
It would be good to stay in one of these two areas that I have mentioned so far, I do not recommend the vicinity of Dubai Creek and Al Bastakiya, which I will mention below. align: justify;”>—
3. GROUP
Dubai Creek (Dubai Bay) and the bay, where Dubai shows its traditional face and can therefore be called the old town (historical city) section I will talk about the historical places and bazaars on both sides in this section.
We can generalize the area on the west side of Dubai Bay as Bur Dubai area. Now let’s have a look at the sights in this area.
Al Bastakiya Historical Area: The lesser-known local side of Dubai begins to show itself as you pass through the skyscrapers on the subway and get off at the Al Fahidi stop of the green line.. Here, skyscrapers are now replaced by low-rise buildings and super-luxury shopping malls are replaced by local grocery stores and markets.. The people, on the other hand, are mostly Indian and Pakistani; European expat population in the center does not come here. Since the weather was very hot, I had always dressed comfortably according to my head until here, and most people around me were like me.. Here, the looks start to bother you.
Al Bastakiya, which is a historical settlement, looks beautiful, you can wander around the museums and art galleries until you get hot.. There are interesting museums such as the Coin Museum, the Coffee Museum, and art galleries displaying works made by people with disabilities.
Al Fahidi Fort (Al Fahidi Fort): Built in 1787, it is the oldest building in Dubai. It can be reached on foot from the Al Bastakiya area.
The Dubai Museum with entrance 3 AED is here. It can be visited between 14:30 – 20:30 on Friday and 08:30 – 20:30 on other days.
Grand Mosque: Only Muslims are allowed to enter the mosque, which has the highest minaret in the city.. So it’s only open for worship, not visitors.
Hindu Temple: The only Hindu temple in Dubai. It is not necessary to see it, but if you come to the Grand Mosque, you can see it because it is right next to it.
Textile Souk (Textile Bazaar): Various clothing items are in the first place It is a bazaar where you can find many things you are looking for, especially Al Fahidi Fortress and Dubai Museum for those who think that there is nothing historical in Dubai. they must be unaware
Walk from Al Fahidi Fort to Dubai Creek and arrive at Bur Dubai Station. Here, small boats called Abra cross over to the opposite side.. This affordable trip, which costs 1 AED, can be considered a touristic activity thanks to the different landscapes around.
Across the estuary with Abra, from the Bur Dubai area to the Deira area
strong>what have you come to. Deira Old Souq Station is the area where Dubai’s bazaars are located.. Souq or Souk means bazaar.
Gold Souk (Gold Souk): There are so big and exaggerated jewelry here that people stare with open mouth. Other bazaar sights are also very familiar to Istanbulites; “Hello madam. Silk, cashmire, sunglasses, Versace, Prada, Gucci …” They start to follow you as you walk, and even if you say you don’t want it, they continue to talk to you for a while.. I didn’t stay in the bazaars for a long time because I was bored of it and was uncomfortable with the looks.
The bad news is that the prices are not affordable.. I can find cheap gold, buy and bring some, unfortunately, there is no such thing as selling it in Turkey Since all prices are indexed to the same thing, namely the dollar, both in Turkey and Dubai, the system does not give any deficit at any point.. Still, you can just visit the bazaar and be surprised by this much of the exaggeration like me, or you can get something to your liking.. Gold Souk is open Saturday-Thursday from 10:00 to 22:00 and Friday from 16:00 to 22:00.
Spice Souk (Spice Bazaar): There are many things you can think of, such as pots, pans, souvenirs, not just spices.
Spice Souk.
After touring the Deira area and its bazaars a bit, you can take the metro back from Al Ras stop.
BONUS: Dubai Miracle Garden It is not close to any of the groups I have mentioned, but I recommend you to take a taxi or something and go to the world’s largest natural flower garden and take colorful pictures.. The most important information about Dubai Miracle Garden is that it is a seasonal place; Definitely worth paying the AED 45 entrance fee if your trip is between October and April. Click for website.
