El Nido Philippines

We hit the road again on the morning of 13 July 2013. We knew this one would be a very long journey. If nothing goes wrong, if it comes out after 44 hours, who knows when we would reach Philippines El Nido. When we said El Nido to those who asked where before the holiday this year, the bewildered glances we encountered, the fact that no one knew, and they asked us to open a picture of it on the internet and let’s see it, excited the Traveling Couple, whose aim was to “Go to the Unseen and the Unknown”.

Everything was fine until Kuala Lumpur. While saying Starbucks and McDonalds in KL, the Philippines journey also began. After waiting for 7 hours, we fly to Manila and arrive there in Puerto Princesa after 5 hours of forced waiting.. Everything was normal so far.. But after that, it was the most interesting of the Traveling Couple journeys.. We were going to go to El Nido at the end of a 7-hour journey with Roro Bus from Puerto.. So far, everything was within our knowledge and plan.. Also, on the way from the airport to the bus terminal, the tricycle driver suggested that we would travel comfortably in a Minivan in 5 hours.. Here it all started with our distrust of the driver.

When we were buying our tickets at the terminal, when the box office clerk said that there was a bus that will leave in 15 minutes, but without air conditioning, we bought the tickets immediately when the price was half the normal value.. Let’s have a dream to visualize the bus; imagine our first public buses in Istanbul, at least 30 years old if possible. You know, the windows half opened from the bottom up, the seats are torn, there is a squeaking sound from everywhere, and in addition to this, the last sound karate film is showing in the bus of 50 people, with a minimum of 100 Filipino and the poorest type of passenger profile, on the driver’s seat with a rapper hat on his hat, sunglasses on his hat. a maniac with fabric pants on the bottom, sneakers on his feet and a cigarette in his mouth

This is how our journey started, but what to start. Whatever God gave, he was gasping until the end, without thinking about bends, cliffs, pits, people, children and children.. When Neslihan saw the bus that took off before us, it flew to the mountain from the bend we saw on the road and it was like paper, when Neslihan said to her assistant, “Now the driver should drive the bus slowly”, the assistant must have thought it a joke and laughed.. Although it was not strange to us that all the passengers on the bus were comfortable during this maniacal use.. Even Orkun, who spent most of his youth by the crazy car racers, was unable to speak out for fear.. Indeed, after a nightmarish journey, we reached El Nido safely.

El Nido bus terminal.. After such an arduous journey, we settled in our room with the dream of a nice bathroom.. Take it, another surprise! The water heater does not work. When we explained the situation to the hotel staff, he said that a small part of the device was burned, but they can fix it tomorrow.. We got stuck in cold water, but after all, we got washed and cleaned. We took tours during our stay in El Nido. And during this time, our room and we unfortunately could not get hot water.

The hotel owners were French family, we have seen many Turkish and European living in Thailand, Malaysia before.. But we were quite surprised when we saw it in El Nido.. Because this place is not very livable except for boat tours.. The simplest is that there is no electricity from 6 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.. There are hotels and restaurants along the beach.. It is not possible to swim in the sea, as all the tour companies cover the boats on the beach.. But as far as we can see, cafes and hotels are generally run by the French.. As we learned from the local people, there is no state hospital in the region, there is only one private hospital.. We were in the rainy season.. But beyond the monsoons here, it was a different type of precipitation.. The rain that started while we were sitting happily sipping our shakes at Pukka Bar, which we went to on the last day, rained non-stop until the next morning.. When we decided not to come back with the same bus company on the way back, we got on the Minivan at 6 pm this time.. 600 pesos per person. We were full again, but we can still say that it is very comfortable from the bus.
