We are waking up to the day when we will experience entering the lake for the first time in Macedonia, which shares two large lakes, Ohrid, with Albania and Prespa with Greece and Albania.
Six Ohrid, which is recorded as the city with a thousand-year history and the Cyrillic alphabet used by the Slavic peoples, is of great importance for the Slavs.. Although the prices are higher than the Macedonian average, the well-intentioned and friendly local people lead the development of tourism in the region where tourists from Turkey and the Balkans predominate. We find the beach at Struga, 15 kilometers from Ohrid, where we will enter Lake Ohrid, which is the oldest and deepest lake.
Struga, located on the route between Ohrid and the Albanian border. is among the touristic attractions of the region. While more locals prefer to swim in the lake on a few beaches on the lake shore in Struga, which continues its development day by day, affordable facilities appeal to everyone. Even if we get caught in it, we get out of the lake so that no harm will come to us from the lake.
We stick our heads inside the sign that says “Burek” and choose from hot, salty kinds of pastries and bagels that are very close to our taste and make our way.. We are at Struga Beach after we put the ayran, which we were very excited about, in our bag, in honor of the promise that the Turkish does not give up his taste no matter where he goes.. After circumambulating the beach with Gözde and exploring the possibilities, we enjoy our pastries in the shade of a cool tree.
While we are still enjoying the taste of the pastries consumed with ayran, we can go to Ohrid Lake, where so many people are swimming and shining under the sun. we lay down from the beach. When my parents agree not to enter the lake, we leave them on the sun loungers on the beach and send them to the pier to immerse ourselves in the cool waters of the lake.. While I was thinking that the lake will be a turning point after experiencing the ocean, sea and pool in so many different places, Gözde enters the water without thinking too much.
As we look at the sand, the bottom of which resembles light mud, and the wide reeds behind us. While I’m shivering, I say not to think too much.. While we think of swimming in fresh water as a big pool, we open up with Gözde.. At the end of our 15-20 minute swimming experience, we focus on sunbathing on the beach and the books in our hands.. Sipping the local beer Skopsko, the body evaporates under the warmth of the sun shining directly overhead, with the noise of the children on the beach, the strangeness of the idea of entering the lake, and the rush of trying to finish the book in hand. or later on to Skopje, the capital of the Republic of Macedonia.. As these distances, which will be considered short, get longer due to roughness and terrain conditions, we will be whole in the car.. Still, being on the road is good, being on the road means collecting instant savings.
