I love to spend my free time in new places in Istanbul that I have become accustomed to or have just opened. That’s why I wanted to tell you about these three places that came together by chance and kept me in Kadıköy from morning to night.. I especially preferred to write Pattis, Old Java and Secdus together; because making people happy in the first few minutes after going is the common feature of all three of them.. Let’s say you will spend a day in Kadıköy and you are looking for such places.. If you ask me, the first things that come to my mind are Pattis with its delicious breakfasts, and Secdus with designs that make your dream world come true with its minimal decoration and extremely delicious coffees that travel lovers will love.. Come on, let’s examine all three of them together..

One of the smallest cafes in Kadıköy, it’s not too late to say new.. This is both a breakfast and brunch place, as well as a delicious coffee shop with brewed coffees.. Its rich breakfast with various alternatives is organic, most of the products come fresh from the family farm in Thrace.. Great care is taken to ensure that the products purchased from outside the farm are not processed.. Long live healthy producers! But these features are not the only reason why I love Pattis so much.
One Man Giant Squad, Menemen, Bloody Mary Salmon
I met one of the partners at a place in Orjin, where I had breakfast before going to work; Tutay. I’ve never seen such energetic people in my life, or should I say original? Even though I see Tutay three times a year, its temperature is always the same.. The interesting part is that we met at different times and in very unrelated places in my life.. Tuğçe, the other of the two partners, is the former Marketing Manager of a brand that I have met frequently in my business life.. Old; because they both said goodbye to corporate life and met at Pattis so they can freely pursue their dreams. Tuğçe, like Tutay, is one of my sweet friends whom I do not see often, but whose support and sincerity I always feel very close. Even if I don’t eat or drink anything in this place, let me state that I will love it just because it motivates me to pursue my dreams.. Pattis is the ‘free dreams corner’ of my heart.

The biggest reason why it has become so popular in a short time and is so full that it can’t find a table in the morning is because everything served to you is extremely delicious and attentive.. My favorite is the Single Giant Staff breakfast, which includes 2 types of cheese, 2 types of olives, beef ham, home jam, milk jam, homemade acuka, zahter, olive oil, dried fruit, walnuts, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, greens and 1 cup of tea. (19TL) Çılbır Toast made from poached eggs with yogurt and labneh cheese (14 TL). It would not be a lie if I said that the mornings are going well.. You can add to your breakfast according to your personal preferences; milk jam is in the top 3 on the list of things you must taste when you come to Pattis.. There are also many toast, egg and salad options on the menu.. In some weeks, they also have different breakfast concepts, who can forget the scrambled egg with smoked salmon called Bloody Mary in the special menu they prepared for the New Year?

Well, on top of such a nice breakfast, you have to drink coffee, of course.. You can choose the delicious coffees of Pattis brewed with Aeropress, Chemex and Syphone techniques according to your taste.. I’m a Flat White fan, but you can also have a Matcha Latte at Pattis if you choose alternatives that contain Matcha.. To summarize the prices in general; Cold Drip 11 TL, Flat White 8 TL, Americano and Cortado 7 TL, Aeropress 11 TL, Chemex 10 TL, Syphone for two people 25 TL. The most beautiful is the wooden plates with the concept of continents, where the coffee is served.. One can easily teleport to long trips from here!
Especially at a time when everyone is positioning themselves as a breakfast eater, I think Pattis’ difference is obvious in every respect.. I invite you to the place on Hasırcıbaşı Street, for breakfast as soon as possible, so that you can see that I did not pass the ball to my friends.. Another place in Kadıköy for those who love to travel, Old Java. Already, photos of the place appear frequently on Instagram.. That huge, illuminated world map is not going to go unnoticed by anyone! This super minimal place with its familiar coffees that we know from Galata is also among my favorites in Kadıköy.
Although some of the new generation coffee shops are a little high, Old Java’s The sincerity in the fashion branch makes you feel as if you went to the neighbor.. You can chat for a long time while preparing your coffee with its barista @kahvebarmeni and continue to enjoy the day here.. If you don’t want to drink your coffee alone, you can also choose one of the limited number of dessert alternatives.
Old Java Roasters
With the white decoration of Old Java, they made this tiny place very spacious.. The greenery in between makes you calm, and the tables located against the street are perfect for dreaming while watching the people of Kadıköy.. By choosing one of the beans in different flavors, you can brew in alternatives such as Chemex, Aeropress, Hario V60.. It is possible to get up to 25 TL for two people, coffee prices vary between 7.5-20 TL depending on the type of preparation and brewing.

We came to one of the most creative places in Kadıköy. In his place in Söğütlüçeşme, there is an unexpected dream world when you look around.. Many of us know Secdus, we follow it fondly.. Maybe we got used to buying plates and cups filled with beautiful illustrations over the internet; what about the main place? Sometimes I spend hours browsing the site, to decide which one to buy.. However, there was an easier side; come to the shop.

The moment you see its blue door, you understand, there is a completely different world inside.. When you enter the door, a lot of plates, pillows, cups, candles greet you.. All of them are colorful and the harbinger of happy moments you will spend inside. If Secdus, the owner of these designs, is also there, great! You can get your tea and chat with Secdus at the point where you can’t decide what to buy.. The place has two floors, the upper part is of course quieter.. Enjoying the weekend is not a bad idea in the wing chairs, but one’s mind stays with the designs downstairs, what should I lie? I love everything that Secdus can do. Coming as a guest and being a guest in his dream world is a completely different experience.. It is impossible not to leave here happy, if you haven’t arrived yet, make sure to note it on your list!
