  • The seating arrangement inside the minivan is a bit cramped.. Since the road is extremely winding, it is a very shaky and tiring journey.
  • The van we used stopped once on the way.. There was nothing to eat in the resting place to suit our taste.. Traveling is a must.
  • It is possible to find minibuses that reciprocate from 5am every day.
  • When you’re going from El Nido to Puerto Princesa, book a reliable one day in advance at least. I recommend you to make a reservation with the company, to calculate the journey as if it will take 8 hours if you are going to catch the plane, and to keep in mind that the minivans may not comply with the departure times.

Ferry to El Nido How To Get To

If you have planned a Philippines trip that will include Coron Island, you can use fast ferries between El Nido and Coron.

There are important details you need to know about the ferry journey:

  • Journey duration an average of 4 hours. Departure times are around 07:00 am or 12:00 pm.
  • There are 3 different fast ferry companies: Montenegro Lines, Jomalia, Phimal. You can buy ferry tickets online or from agencies when you go.. In any case, you should book at least 3-4 days in advance, otherwise you will not be able to find tickets.
  • Attention! There are also cheaper slow ferries running between El Nido and Coron: Bunso and Jessabel. The journey time is said to be 5 hours but actually it takes at least 7 hours and it is quite uncomfortable.. I advise you to be careful while choosing.

  • You must be at the pier 1 hour before the ferry departure time.
  • There’s no food on the ferry except chips and noodle packs.. I suggest you take a snack with you.
  • Depending on the wind conditions, seasickness is very common when the ferry shakes too much.. Before boarding, you may consider taking medicine against seasickness or chewing ginger.
  • As long as there are no problems with the ventilation, it gets very cold inside Montenegro Lines, you have to travel with your thickest clothes.
