Inside the Waters and Whites: In Pamukkale

I suddenly came across Pamukkale during my holiday visit.. Well, it wouldn’t have been possible without a visit, having come all this way.. Although I live in Izmir and it is among the nearby places, it did not attract my attention before.. From the first moment I started traveling, I realized that I was doing a great injustice.. When I first stepped on the travertines, I felt as if I had come to a ski park in this heat.. It’s like white cotton everywhere.. I was astonished by that whiteness, as the words that the travertines deteriorated and they were no longer white remained in my mind.. With the closure of the hotel, which is one of the most important factors in the deterioration of the structure of the travertines, and the care started again, it started to regain its former whiteness.. Deformations are still not conspicuous in places.

Pamukkale travertines and hierapolis are located in the same area. There are 3 different entrance doors. The most enjoyable road is the one that leads directly to the travertines..
This gate is smaller than the others and has a longer ticket queue. Entrance is free with the museum card, but since there is no card reader system, you still have to queue to get your free ticket.. Despite all these troubles, it is worth the pleasure of going up this road. The waters in the travertines are flowed in a controlled manner.. It is forbidden to travel in areas without water.. Officers warn with their whistles. So every time you go, you get the chance to visit a different region.

Intense interest from domestic and foreign tourists. But not everyone has the necessary sensitivity. Information should be given at the entrance. Travertines are formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonates in water.. Visitors walking around the pools cause the collapsing limestones to disperse before they can harden.. Soft areas should not be walked around too much and limestones should not be applied to the body.. There are even people who believe that water has a cure.. There are people who apply calcium carbonate to their face like a mask, or even fill it into a bottle and take it away.. These unnecessary movements cause the water to lose its clarity, deprivation of that magnificent clear view and most importantly, the travertines to deform very quickly..

When you reach the top of the travertines, a cool wooded area welcomes those who are overwhelmed by the heat.. You can relax or visit Pamukkale Hierapolis, Hierapolis Museum or the ancient pool.
