Kapuzbasi Waterfall, Kayseri

Kapuzbaşı Waterfall, located in the north of Küçükçakır Village of Yahyalı, one of the most beautiful districts of Kayseri, is a place where you can admire with its mountainous and green area and its magnificent view.. It is located in the area known as Aladağlar National Park.. Since there are a total of 7 waterfalls, two of which are small and five of which are large, it is also useful to know this place as Kapuzbaşı Waterfalls. I can say waterfall. I say add this waterfall, which welcomes you with all its coolness in summer, to your list of places to visit in Kayseri to visit this waterfall with a family on a nice weekend and enjoy nature and naturalness.

What to Do in Kapuzbaşı Waterfall ?

The best thing to do around the waterfall is to have a nice picnic with your family or friends.. On the way to the waterfall, in many green and empty fields on the way, many families see the waterfall and come here again to enjoy a nice barbecue (because they can’t find a place near the waterfall or they don’t like the crowd).

Small restaurants and cafe-style places around the waterfall are limited. because the prices are so high. Therefore, it is better to stay away from such places around the waterfall.. It will not be easy to find the service and taste you want in such a crowded place anyway.

If you get very hungry, my advice to you would be to go to the center of Yahyalı.. It is possible to find many restaurants, pide parlors and cafes in Yahyalı, which is an average of 1 hour away from the waterfall.. If you intend to stay at these waterfalls for more than 1 hour, do not forget to bring something to eat and drink.

There are not many activities to do around the waterfall.. But one of the biggest activities will be getting wet in the waterfall.. When you see hundreds of people taking off their shoes and getting into the water, you get gassed and get under the water, if the weather is not too hot, you get sick.. In any case, the water of the waterfall is so cold that it is not possible to keep your feet in the water for even 1-2 minutes.. However, if you are coming here with your children, I would say at least buy a towel and something like a coat for them.

In summer, at noon, your children can easily dry in the sun for 1 hour after they get wet by going under the water.. However, in this region, which is much colder than the center of Kayseri, the air temperature drops tremendously after the afternoon.. If you get wet here in the evening, it will take a long time to dry.

If you are planning a picnic at the waterfall, try to get here as early as possible.. You can have a barbecue and picnic almost anywhere you see greenery.. That’s why you don’t need to do a lot of research for a nice place.

If you want a nice place for barbecue; If you can find a place, there is a way down just to the left of the entrance of the waterfall (When you turn your face to the sign that says Aladağlar National Park at the entrance, the place on your left without going inside). This is the ideal and most beautiful place for barbecue.. But it is also very difficult to find a place.. To get a nice place here, you have to be here by 9-9:30 at the latest.. If you can’t find a place, continue on the road to Yahyalı and you can settle in the first green area you see on your right or left.

Where is Kapuzbaşı Waterfall Where and How To Go ?

The first way (for those going from Kayseri, Sivas, Malatya) ; Come to Kayseri Düvenönü. Ask any tradesman about the way to Mount Erciyes. You can reach Yahyalı after 1 hour and 20 minutes by using the Erciyes-Develi-Yahyalı route.. So far, so good. The main thing is to drive on the road from Yahyalı to the waterfall.. After Yahyalı, something remains of 80-90 km.. However, that road seems like 150-200 km to you.

The road after Yahyalı is so narrow that it is very difficult for two vehicles to pass side by side.. Also the road is two way and not a divided road. When two vehicles come face to face, you can hardly pass.

In addition, there are hundreds of sharp bends from Yahyalı to the waterfall.. That’s why the road is really tiring for the driver.. If you are going to the waterfall with a novice driver, woe to you.. If you’re going to come here with a novice driver, I say don’t come at all.. The roads are the kind that will force the drivers who say I am a master.. Anyway, if you go with a novice, you won’t be able to understand anything from the waterfall you see or what you eat, due to the stress you experience on the way.

Second Route (For those coming from Ankara, Istanbul, Adana side): The other way of transportation we prefer to see Sultan Marshes is to use the İncesu-Yeşilhisar route.
This second route is the preferred route for those who want to go to Sultan Marshes and those coming from Ankara.. Anyway, if you’re coming from Ankara, you have no other choice.. Of course, if you’re not going to go as far as Kayseri.

On the second road, just like the first road, you first go to Yahyalı, then use those cliffs, winding, narrow roads.

NOTE. : If you are trying to go to the waterfall from Kayseri, Sivas, Malatya, do not use this Incesu route.. Because when you use this road, you add an extra hour and a half to your journey, which makes a total of 3.5-4 hours.. You can even go to Istanbul in this much time by pushing a little harder.

So forget this road.. The extra 1.5-hour journey is not worth the towing or the gasoline you burn so that I can see the Vay Sultan Marshes.. If you can’t go to Sultan Marshes in the morning, you won’t be able to see birds.. If you can’t see a bird, if you can’t see anything. So, going to Sultan Marshes is not very smart.

As those coming from Ankara or Istanbul have to use the İncesu route, you can stop by here for 5-10 minutes.. However, more than 5 minutes is too much for the reeds.

NOTE : There is no chance to reach the waterfall by bus.. However, you can go to Yahyalı with the Yahyalı minibuses, then go to the waterfall by paying crazy prices by taxi, or you can go to the waterfall with the help of a tour company in Yahyalı for a crazy price.. It would be much more logical to rent a car without experiencing all the action.. It will be worth your ordeal.

As a result, Kapuzbaşı Waterfall is a place where you can go to Kayseri city center in 2-2.5 hours in total from Erciyes-Develi road with a skilled driver.. The waterfall is really worth seeing.. You know, it’ll be worth the ordeal. But if you’re going just to see the waterfall, is it worth the trip? I don’t know. However, if you are planning to have a nice picnic with your family, you can see this natural wonder first and then spend a nice time with your family.. Here, this will be worth the ordeal you’ve gone through.
