Kekova region is generally a virgin place, so it is very suitable for camping.. That’s why we wanted to write a long Kekova Camping Sites article, but unfortunately there is only one establishment as a camping area in Kekova and that is Kekova Camping. There is no other paid or free campsite in Üçağız or Kaleköy.. Some hostels buy tents in their gardens, but they are not places that we can count as camping places.
Therefore, our article will necessarily be about Kekova Camping rather than Kekova camping areas.. They are generally arranged as tent camps, but occasionally they take caravans instead of flat ones.. Don’t imagine a camper camp with a clean water connection, a sewer drain or something.. In addition, it is not possible to find a shaded area for the caravan, since the trees are small, only tents can be set up in most places.. We found a difficult place with a top tent and we were completely in the sun.
Kekova Camping has a large land, according to its operator, it is 30 acres, but not all of it has been arranged as a camping area.. Probably they will increase the tent places as the demand increases, although it was very crowded when we went so the tents were very close. We were lucky to be a vehicle top tent and there were no tents set up near us.. Although they wanted to establish it for a while, I have to explain it separately when talking about the operators..
The campground is not in the center, it is on the road going down to Üçağız, it seemed far from the center at first, but we chose this place as there is no other alternative as a camping place in Kekova.. Still, the road was not a problem, it takes 10 minutes to go to the center and 15 minutes to get back to work because you go uphill.. Thanks to being in a slightly elevated area, it blows beautifully, perhaps this is the only spot in Üçağız where the wind blows.. Also, the terrace has a very beautiful view.
The most interesting part is the toilet, the top is very natural, but it is a big problem that there is only one toilet in the camping area.. By the way, when we say one toilet, we are not talking about a women’s and a men’s restroom, there is only one.. Get ready for the toilet queue in the morning you will understand. The showers were not bad, the water was hot, but since we went in August, we have to thank the sun for that.. There is a refrigerator and kitchen counters in the open area, but we say don’t keep your expectations high.. Kekova Camping has electricity and if you have a cable, you can pull it to your tent.. Of course, some tent areas are too far from the sockets, so at least 20 m of cable may be required.. Although there is electricity in the camping area, there is almost no lighting; tent areas and crossing areas are pitch black, we even went to the toilet using a head lamp. In addition, people could not find free space at phone charging points.
Kekova Camping is a family business; Brother Malik, sister Hülya and their son Pasha run it together.. They are all unique and good people, they try to help as much as they can.. When you want something from brother Malik, he first looks and thinks, he doesn’t answer for a while, such a displeasure, such a reluctance.. However, his general temperament is so, so it is not a special case for you.. Hulya sister is constantly running and very warm-blooded.. Pasha also came to ask if it would be okay if I took a tent with you one evening, in the mode we will take care of it all the time.. We said it wouldn’t be too close, he said yes, he left, anyway, he didn’t have a tent set up, but it was an interesting dialogue..
In short, Kekova Camping is not a place where we would say go and camp here, but we cannot say that you will regret it if you go.. If you are going to Kekova and you are thinking of camping, you already have no other alternative, but if you do not keep your expectations high, it is not a camping area that will upset you.
