We sat in a spot that caught our eye in the main square.. Name: “Wierzynek” This is a very stylish restaurant serving authentic Polish cuisine. Everyone who works here takes you back years with their clothes and facial expressions.. Here, just like in Warsaw, the decoration preserves the atmosphere of a wine cellar when you go down 2-3 floors from the entrance.. In fact, if they had told me to put an apron around my neck and work here from now on, I think I would have agreed without a word.. The prices are a little high but believe me it’s worth every penny you pay. Here we sang a mixed fish plate. We just ordered a grilled salmon and coleslaw salad.. Cabbage is also widely consumed here.. Along with a bottle of white wine. Then comes the desserts.. The apple tarts here are very successful, and if you add a scoop of ice cream to it, you can’t get enough of it.
Michael Jackson’s music is playing in our ears… We head towards the sound.. an amazing show. what? Originally a puppet show, but far, far beyond just a puppet show. It’s amazing!!!
Hundreds of people gathered around a stand in the square watching this show “Falko Show” in amazement. obviously me too. I’m waiting ’til the end of the show. ‘Cause whatever I do I need to meet the person who made this show. The show host is Kristof. Kristof was making all his puppets himself, wood carving was already in the family, he learned it from his grandfather.. “I also have an ear for music,” he says.. Even if he doesn’t say it, it’s understandable… He was ready to go to every country and show off if he was invited and his transportation and accommodation were covered.. Even if you don’t see it directly, search and watch it on google as “Falko Show”. You won’t regret it.
From there, we’re going straight to the Kermes area next to the main basilica.. A small concert venue has been set up here.. We start to try local flavors with music.
The salty cheese they make on the grill was my favourite.. Other “Piragi” Polish dumplings. The larger of our ravioli. You can get it fried or boiled. Mushroom, meat, spinach, cheese, chicken, tuna fish… I tried all of them. I say you should try it too.
Widac main square buzzes with musicians in the evening. When Hitler came here for a while, this square was named Hitler Square.
The end of the street you will enter next to the main basilica connects to Florian Gate.. On the right you will see the Theater building. This building was Krakow’s first illuminated building. Whatever you look for on this street, there are shoe shops, doner shops, fast-cafes (starbucks-cafe nero’s term in my perception: fast – cafe)…
Door numbers while walking on the streets draws our attention. It’s on the sign on one side, it says Illuminated (inside the lantern) on the other. This is one of Hitler’s gifts.. The reason is; When the Nazis were going to raid these houses, all the door numbers were changed in this way at that time, in case the people inside would notice and hide or run away if they used a flashlight or a flashlight to search for the door number.
We had breakfast, but still, in small cars on the way We can’t help but try the little bagel-like things they sell.. These are tiny little rings.. Sold as a string. Quite different from simit… Smaller, sesame and sweeter. I recommend you to try it, it’s delicious…
There are many painting-based works that taste like an open-air exhibition around the Florian Gate at the end of this street.. They turned the city walls into gallery walls.. All of the works exhibited here belong to the students studying at the Academy of Fine Arts.
When you pass this door, you will see another door at the back.. Barbikan Gate… All the Kings used to enter through this gate. King Jan Sobieski also prayed in front of the Barbikan before the Austrian war.. While the city was surrounded by walls, there were 7 gates, the most important of which was the Barbikan gate.. The height of the walls surrounding the city was 6.5 meters and the width was 2.5 meters.. Now, of course, we can see some of them.
For shopping, you can easily find all kinds of products at Galeria Kazimierz and Galeria Krakowska. However, both are closed on Sundays.
Sorrowful Krakow, home to “Schindler’s List”, “Katyn” and “The Pianist” We recommend that you take plenty of time to explore its streets.
Since Krakow is a cheap city, accommodation is very cheap.. You know, who settled in quality hotels here for a very small fee.. I can recommend Topolowa Residence as accommodation in Krakow.. The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from the Galeria Krakowska Shopping Center and the Old Town. The nearest public transport stop is about 5 minutes away.. Besides, a cheap and quality hotel in Lounge Apartments. St.. Mary’s Basilica and Cloth Hall and Kraków Main Square are within a 7-minute walk of the hotel, and Kraków Barbican is only a 1-minute walk away. Another beautiful hotel, Vinci is 800 meters from Wawel Castle and 1 km from Galeria Krakowska Shopping Center and Kraków Główny Train Station.. Right next to the hotel on the main market square. In addition to these hotels, Apartament Skyfall and the luxury hotel Metropolitan Boutique Hotel are among the other hotels that should be on your list of choices..
