Müncher Freiheit and Giselastrasse

Englisher Garten

It’s another favorite of ours.. Again, this is a forest area further south of the city, but you can easily reach it by getting off at the Brudermühlstrasse U-Bahn stop.
‘Schinderstadl’ and ‘Zum Flaucher’ ‘, there are two beer gardens, a barbeque area if it’s not enough, a beach where you can enter the river and a ‘nudist camp’ area in the middle of the river! We noticed it while walking around and we were shocked. Imagine that you are out for a walk with your spouse in the sunny weather and suddenly you come face to face with 100 +70 years old naked Germans.. Nudity is far from being a taboo in Bavaria, and people can lurk even in community areas.. If you want to grab your beer, put your feet on Isar and enjoy yourself, go to ‘Reichenbachbrücke’ in the very heart of the city.. Nymphenburg Castle
It is very easy to reach Nymphenburg Castle from Munich center by public transport, and although this castle is famous for its porcelain museum, the most beautiful place for us is the botanical garden.. It is open every day between 9-17 and the section we liked the most was the tropical plants section.. In this section, which is designed as a greenhouse, there are flowers of magnificent colors blooming at 20-25 degrees in large and spacious rooms.. If you are one of the people who can’t get enough of green, you can prefer this place instead of visiting the museum-porcelain.
There is also the Blutenburg castle, which is a smaller castle but feels much warmer to us.. This small castle; It is located on the banks of Würm, the second river of Munich, and in front of it has a green lawn in summer and winter, a pond with swans and ducks swimming in it, the Wine Festival held twice a year in its garden and a traditional restaurant.. We loved this area so much that we are looking at our new home in Munich from this area.
Beer Gardens (Biergarten)
As soon as the sun comes out in Munich and gets a little warm, it’s all over the city. Biergarten (beer gardens) opens. Since Germans consume beer in the same way we consume tea/coffee, these beer gardens work in the same way as our tea garden
. If you want, you can bring your food with you and just buy beer, or you can buy both your beer and your meal.
Beers are usually 1 liter and the alcohol rate is around 9/10 percent.. People usually drink this beer at Oktoberfest, too, and it’s called ‘Mass beer’.
Two of the most visited, touristic but also the most beautiful beer gardens are the ‘Chinesischer Turm’ and the ‘Chinesischer Turm’ in Englisher Garten. ‘Seehaus Biergarten’. These are also one of the oldest beer gardens in the city.
The two beer gardens inside Flaucher mentioned above are our favourites.
