South Korea is a country that aims to achieve its success in technology and automotive, now in tourism.. Where to Eat What in South Korea? Muslim-Friendly Restaurants in South Korea
Obviously, when it comes to halal tourism, it is often underrated.. When my friend Erkan from the South Korea Tourism Office called me to talk about his work on this subject, my first question to him was whether the gold of the subject was really good or not.. Because there is a misconception in Turkey that sees no pork in the restaurant as halal.
After our conversation, Erkan sent 2 booklets showing South Korea’s work on this issue, and I understood the seriousness of the event much more.. After all, I saw that the Koreans were going surprisingly systematically in this regard as well.. Perhaps such a detailed study has not been carried out even in Muslim countries where the majority of people are.
Muslim-Friendly Restaurant Categories
Muslim travelers in the country can more easily identify suitable taste stops for them. Muslim-friendly restaurants are divided into 4 categories.
Halal Certified:
Restaurants certified by the Korean Islamic Association (KMF)
Self-Certified
All food is halal. Restaurants are certified “halal” by Muslim restaurant owners themselves

Restaurants suitable for this concept in the country have been categorized city by city and booklets have been created. I counted 42 restaurants in the capital city of Seoul alone.. There are also over 10 restaurants that meet these criteria in Incheon and Gyeonggi-do.. Not only in these cities, but also in many Korean cities, halal restaurants are available for Muslim travelers.. Even on Jeju Island, which we can call the Thailand of Korea.

The first one in Gangwon-do and 4 in South Korea. halal certified restaurant. Famous for its picturesque view on Namiseom Island, the chef of this restaurant is a Muslim Korean, and all the food here is halal.
The famous dish of Chuncheon city is Buldak (chicken with hot spices), Nasi Goreng, rice pasta, fried rice, Asian cuisine. It is possible to taste many kinds of cuisine here without worrying about whether it is halal or not.. There is even a mosque inside for those who want to pray.
