Otelz.com Blog Gökhan Erdoğan’s Interview with Kesfetsek.com Founder, Travel Writer Ahmet Buğra Tokmakoğlu.

A pleasant experience with Kesfetsek.com travel writer Ahmet Buğra Tokmakoğlu our interview.

First of all, welcome, can you introduce yourself a little bit?

I was born in 1989 in Izmir. I graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism.. My master’s study in the field of international relations continues. I worked as a reporter, editor and news director in the field of economy in different newspapers in Izmir.. At the end of last year, I gave up all my professional duties and focused on my blog.. Currently, I am a columnist for İzmir Ege Telegraf newspaper.. Along with Keşfetsek, my articles are published on Gezi Evren and GezginTech websites. I am a member of the Economy Reporters Association, İzmir Journalists’ Association, Journalists’ Union of Turkey, Science Heroes Association and Economic Journalists Association.

How did the Kesfetsek blog come about?

University I have been blogging in different media since my years.. I realized the idea of starting a blog of my own with the pressure from my friends.. I have published all my travel and current articles for 3 years in my blog, the Sum of Instant Savings, which symbolizes the initials of Ahmet Buğra Tokmakoğlu.. My blog turned into Keşfetsek for reasons such as name perception and retention.. In this process, we should not forget the support of Kemal Kaya, the Founder of Yolda Olmak.

How many countries have you visited so far, and what was your favorite place?

To date, 23 different I had a chance to experience the country. Among these, Iran, the Netherlands, Italy and the USA are among the countries that I still remember and would like to visit again as soon as possible.. Instead of talking about countries holistically, cities should be highlighted at the point of liking.. Rome, Amsterdam and San Francisco are my favorite cities.. These cities impressed me a lot with their climate, history, culture, local life and mobility.

Is there a new trip on the horizon?

Australia on May 2nd I will have an 11-day trip to. I will explore the Great Ocean Road with Kemal Kaya, with whom we have developed projects. Our trip, which started from Adelaide, will continue on the south coast and will end in Melbourne.

How do you determine the places you will travel?

I used to be a very planned person.. However, after realizing that living with a plan is very wearisome, I implemented the minimum plan philosophy.. The places I have in mind and want to see create the travel plan according to the flow. Sometimes, events, organizations and invitations also help to determine the route.

Do you have any domestic and international suggestions for the next May 19th and Eid-al-Fitr holidays?

This I am in favor of not going to places that are very crowded on such occasions.. Less known and yet undiscovered places are more attractive in my opinion.. I’m a fan who likes a little more history and cultural tourism.. For those looking for a place to go abroad, I can recommend the ancient city of Aphrodisias, dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite in Aydın, or the holiday resorts along the Aegean coast. Burhaniye, Ayvalık, Assos and Kaz Mountains are on the rise. In the south, there may be Akyaka, Dalyan and Iztuzu sides.. As for abroad, the Balkans is in the first place because it is visa-free and cheap, and the Greek islands are among my favourites.
