Paradise Near Istanbul Sardala Bay

A more detailed version of my article published in Hürriyet Seyahat

To Sardala Bay Transportation

Sardala Bay was an ashy love that was on my mind for a very long time.. Based on an internet article I read 8 years ago, I am on the roads of Sardala Bay, which I remember once I saw its photo somewhere.. I think it’s time to camp.. Following the Ağva Kandıra signs and going 8 km from the dirt road after Bağırganlı village, on the second dirt road, this hidden paradise Sardala Bay, with creeks in between.

Don’t forget to follow me on my instagram account. I tell a lot in stories and highlights

Also close to Pınarlı. It takes two and a half hours to reach Bağırganlı on a green, tree-covered road.. You can navigate here. If you can’t find the way I described from here, you can find it if you ask the people you see.. We found it by asking.

What Kind of Place Is Saradala Bay?

There is no facility here, so you have to take everything and leave.. Those who will go on the Ağva road can shop at the big markets on the road.. we take from the village. I love getting warm breads from your oven.. The images of garbage thrown everywhere are mixed with the magnificent view.

The weather is very nice.. There are campers on the beach. It can be a little troublesome to get down from that dirt road in a rainy weather or to get out if you get caught in the rain here.. We walk down a path through the trees on the right and go down to the beach.. The structure of the rocks is my favorite kind. The sea is warm, the air is not cold.

Then I see Malkaya. The people of the region call the bay we call Sardala Malkaya.. Captains say that Sardala is another bay towards Ağva, but if we ask anyone now, where is this place, they describe it as Sardala.

Malkaya; Inside the island in the middle of the sea, there are hidden walls, structures that were thought to be a cellar in the past.. In 2009, underwater and above researches were carried out and this is what I read.. At that time, these dirt roads did not exist, and it was very difficult to find this cove.

Ipsiz Recep’s Harbor, aka Pool

We leave swimming and climbing to the island until tomorrow, but we call the pool. We reach the secret paradise, which the locals call Ipless Recep’s Harbor, by walking for 20 minutes, on the path created by the people who go there by walking.

Walking through the forest, getting out of one of the sights and entering one of them makes me want to go. takes it from me. It is not easy to find Ropeless Recep’s Harbor.

There is a fallen tree at the beginning of the path that goes down.. Going down we see the harbor. i stare. what a beauty. How it’s hidden, it’s like it doesn’t want to be found. Ipsiz Recep is a former pirate, but during the war he recruited men and fought against the enemies of the Ottoman Empire, hid the ships in the front and hid himself in this bay.

Caves and There are observatories. The history here is very old, but it is named after him because he last used Ipsiz Recep. There was a thick rope there until a few years ago, but they took it too.. It is even said that it is a church whose entrance can only be reached from the sea, but it was destroyed over time and remained under the ground.. Treasure hunters did not stop.

Ilhan, who is responsible for the parking lot and tent area on the Bağrganlı beach, tells me all this.. He always heard from the captains. When you look from the outside, it looks like it has no connection with the sea, but when you get into it and swim, you pass through a strait like a corridor.. Since we didn’t take the underwater camera with us, I feel like not being able to photograph it.

Those who came to the bay left their garbage everywhere.. They even brought food on foam plates and threw them into the water.. First thing I swim and get them out of the water. Can’t you do it? Who’s going to come and clean it?

Have a sea shoe and a mask. There are caves under the water, and the rocks at the entrance are very slippery.. Even when we are there it has many visitors. If you go up and come back, if you continue, it will go to a cove called Kumallı.. We walked a little and continued down a corridor with such low trees that we finally came back because it was late.

Sardala Bay Camping and Caravan

It’s time to set up our tent before it gets dark.. We come back quickly and make our preparations.. We are completely alone with nature. Interestingly, when making a call at Ipsiz Recep’s bay in the forest, the network at Sardala Bay’ is very poor or even nonexistent.

We are setting up our tent on the top of the hill overlooking the bay.. We forgot our chairs too, but oh well. Anyone can find İlhan on the beach in Bağırganlı.. Parking there is 10 TL per day, sunbed 20 TL, 10 TL per tent.. Although there are not many shadow places due to the new arrangement, it can give the expectation of civilization to those who want it.. Shower wc have what you are looking for. There are alcohol sales in the campsite and in the village.

I am one of those who like to camp alone with nature and this bay gives me everything I’m looking for, my friend is looking for a facility as a civilization lover.. Heaven for me isn’t much fun for him. Even though our people are ruined by their garbage, it is still one of the last places left untouched.

There is no facility here, there is no electricity, the telephone is difficult, the internet is troubled.. If you come here, there is the sea, there is a magnificent sunset if you like, the stars are your quilt, the waves are lullabies, if you don’t miss the garbage, there is also peace.

  • Sardala Bay is a caravan camp for caravans who do not need a facility. suitable.

I made a quilt from the stars, a lullaby from the sound of waves. Even though I was wondering when it would fly because we were right above the wind in the morning, I had a very enjoyable night under the shooting stars, breathing the fresh air into my lungs.

The next morning, before we can climb Malkaya, we leave the Sardala tale unfinished and return.. Goodbye Sardala, I will come again and enter that cellar.

What I remember: Garbage and filth everywhere, Gorgeous Ropeless Recep’s Bay, Malkaya and the insatiable view
Recommendations: Make sure you have all your camping gear with you. A sea shoe will also be very useful.
