Called as the Aegean’s land of blues with its beautiful bays, Bodrum has developed so much over the past few years that it almost has the appearance of a mini city.. Especially those who were overwhelmed by the crowds of metropolitan cities such as Istanbul and Ankara began to settle in Bodrum.. Even though it is far from what it looked like ten years ago, it is still a beautiful place worth exploring.. This year, I wanted to make a change and see Bodrum’s April and I liked it much more than summer.. Bodrum welcomed me with wonderful views with yellow daisies, poppies, lemon trees and tangerine trees in their last moments.. I also came across the rain, I also went to the sea in a heat of up to 30 degrees.. And while I had time, I realized my dream of doing a mini Aegean tour that I have wanted for a long time!

We set ourselves free for the first time without making any plans and programs, and we set out to go wherever the road takes us and have wonderful experiences. we spent four full days we lived. We understood that the hospitality of the Aegean people was different… We met such sincere and good-hearted people during our breaks that we erased our prejudices.. If you have been in Bodrum for a long time and you intend to escape to a place nearby, even for a few days, this article is for you! The Ancient City of Kiyikislacik and Iasos

Milas

Milas Kyikislacik, a small village in the strong> district, is 1 hour away from Bodrum.. If you want to How to get to Kiyikislacik, just follow the Iasos sign on the left after you pass Milas Bodrum Airport.. But let me warn you, your journey may not be as comfortable as you think, because heavy vehicles have destroyed the asphalt.. After you reduce your speed at the entrance and move forward, the road gets better, but the bend begins.. After walking for 15-20 minutes through the pine forests, you witness that this place has started to be turned into a cooperative heap.

The quiet and peaceful Aegean village of Kıyıkışlacık is home to the Iasos Ancient City.. Even though you can see the ruins of historical churches and tombs at the entrance of Kıyıkışlacık, you need to reach the coast to visit the ancient city.. 3 BC. If you are interested in archeology, Iasos Ancient City with its history dating back to the 19th century may be of great interest to you.. In the ancient city, which is thought to have been founded by the immigrants from Argos, structures such as the agora, theater and fortifications have managed to be preserved to a large extent. on display at . You can visit the open-air museum, also known as the Fish Market, for free. Unfortunately, we encountered no staff at the entrance of the museum, which is located a little further from the coastline, and the abandoned appearance of the artifacts once again revealed the value given to history…

The reason why Iasos Open Air Museum is called Fish Market In the first excavations, it was thought that the fish trade was organized here.. As a result of the findings obtained over time, it was revealed that it was a mausoleum dating back to the Roman period.. You can take a closer look at the statues of men and women, pedestals, stone inscriptions and tombs in the Iasos Ancient City, and go on a time travel.

The Güllük Bay is located right across the calm, peaceful and quiet Kıyıkışlacık. taking. Kiyikislacik, where boat trips are also organized from Gulluk in summer, can be reached in 20 minutes from Gulluk.. You can visit Kıyıkışlacık, one of the hidden corners of the Aegean that not many people know about, for a day, stay for a few nights in the pensions on the beach, enjoy raki and fish in shabby fish restaurants and rest your head.. Do not expect too much from the sea, it may not open your heart after the glassy coves of Bodrum.. Even though it is not a place to visit again and again, if you like to travel and discover new places like me, you can add Kıyıkışlacık to your route.

Mazi

Mazi is such a place that you can love it. who doesn’t like it too much! Mazi, located 1.5 hours away from Bodrum, is a quiet and serene village as much as Bodrum is lively.. If you’re thinking of getting bored with the crowds of Bodrum and going to Mazı during the summer months, get ready for the bends of the Mumcular road! Don’t be intimidated, you won’t even realize how quickly the road passes while you are walking through the greenery… I think Mazı is not a place to go for a day.. I suggest you stay at least 1 night while you are here.. You prefer Hurma, İnceyalı and Çakıllı to stay in Mazı, which has eight beautiful and eight coves lined up around the Gulf of Gökova. you can. We preferred Seaside Pension’ in Hurma Bay to stay in Mazi. We couldn’t forget our mini holiday where we stayed away from all kinds of communication tools for two days and just read books and enjoyed the sea and the sun… If you are one of those who dream of resetting yourself, waking up in the morning against the sea and falling asleep to the sound of crickets at night, Mazi Village > just for you. Especially if you come in September-October, don’t enjoy it!

Çökertme

When you think of Çökertme, you think of the famous Aegean folk song, right? But this Çökertme is not that Çökertme 🙂 The Çökertme in the mentioned song is in Yalikavak. Çökertme, which I will talk about, is a small village in Milas, which is 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Bodrum and is known as one of the indispensable stops of blue cruise boats.. If you’ve seen the movie The Dairy Philosopher you might be more familiar with it here. Because the whole movie takes place in Çökertme.

We met Çökertme through Akyaka.. Çökertme was on our way as we preferred to go to Akyaka by following the Mumcular road.. We stopped by Rose Mary Restaurant on the beach for a tea break. Mahir Bey, the owner of the restaurant by the sea, moved from Ankara to Çökertme 30 years ago.. Here he runs both a hostel and welcomes his guests in the restaurant.. Season in Çökertme is between June and September. Although the beach is stony, the sea is clean. You can come for the day or if you are bored with the active environments, you can stay for a few nights and rest your soul.

You can think of Çökertme as Mazı.. After enjoying the sea and the sun all day long, you can eat your fish against the sea in the evening and sip your drink.. The only sound you will probably hear will be the crickets.. ‘Cause there’s nothing built around except a few restaurants. Nightly accommodation prices in Çökertme 100-150 TL for two people. Even though our first meeting was short, I think I will come to Çökertme again at the first opportunity.. I am sure that it will be like a medicine especially after Istanbul!

Ören

Eight kilometers by car from Çökertme > we reached Ören after the trip. As soon as we stepped into Ören, located in the north of the Gökova Bay, she welcomed us with all its beauty.. Oren, which is connected to the Milas district of Muğla, is one of the favorite holiday resorts of Gökova with its glassy sea and peaceful air.. If you have the opportunity, I suggest you come to Ören in spring or autumn.. You will not be overwhelmed by the extreme heat and you will have the opportunity to listen to your head away from the crowd.. You can swim in Ören, where the sea season opens in April, until November.

After the seaside pleasure, shabby restaurants line the seaside await you to try the astonishing flavors of the Aegean.. You will not want to leave the table decorated with delicious appetizers with fresh fish caught daily.. If you want to change your mind like us and extend this pleasure, you can book a place from each other cute hostels.. If you want to know more about Ören, which is about two hours away from Bodrum, you can read my Oren travel guide.

Akbük

On the way from Ören to Akyaka, your eyes will be filled with green and blue like never before.. Since I haven’t had a trip with such beautiful scenery in a long time, we stopped almost every four or five kilometers to take pictures.. The interesting thing is that our trip coincided with the news that the Gökova Bay would be opened for development.. I wonder if we will be able to see the Gulf of Gökova, the pearl of the Aegean, so green and untouched? After seeing its beauty from the top, we decided to go down to the bay to take a sea break for a few hours.. I was already dreaming of swimming in the turquoise sea as I drove down through the trees.. When we came to the beach, there was only us and a foreign couple who came with their caravan.. In summer, there is an entrance fee by car, but we parked our car without paying because there was no one yet and the season was not open.

The sea of Akbük is just as I expected.. Even though we are still in spring, the water is not cold at all, you get used to it immediately when you leave yourself to the water.. The sea is stony, so it deepens immediately. Since the beach is stony, you will be very comfortable if you bring a camping chair.. It’s a little difficult to sit for a long time with a towel otherwise. Akbuk is one of the popular destinations for campers.. If you want to get rid of the tiredness and stress of the whole year in the middle of the lush trees and the deep blue sea, you can take your tent and come to Akbuk or you can choose the facilities here.

Akyaka

two and a half hours to Bodrum, half an hour to Muğla > at a distance from Akyaka, is located in the east of the Gulf of Gökova. The lively atmosphere in Bodrum and Cesme lends itself to peace and quiet here.. Frankly, before I came to Akyaka, I never thought that it was such a small and cute place.. The most important feature of Akyaka, which is called the little paradise of Muğla, is that it is one of the 15 quiet cities of our country.. Yes, Akyaka is a cittaslow (quiet city) That’s why the entertainment life, beach clubs, traffic noise that lasts until the morning has left its place to bird sounds.. Akyaka, whose air is generally cool because it is covered with dense forests, is the first place that comes to mind when wind surf is mentioned in recent years.. Akyaka, which is flocked by locals and foreigners for surfing in the summer months, also offers the opportunity to have a vacation in the summer without being overwhelmed because it is windy.. click if you want to take a look at the article I wrote about my accommodation in Akyaka and my travel experiences.

Akyaka is in such a location that if you wish, you can stay in Akyaka as we did and stay in Akyaka. You can explore the rest of Gökova Bay. We created the rest of our route as KoycegizDalyanIztuzu Beach and we have collected wonderful memories, albeit for a day.. We are planning our second trip to Marmaris-İçmeler-Turunç-Selimiye, Göcek, Dalaman as soon as possible.. The Fisherman of Halicarnassus did not say this for nothing: See Rome and die, see Gökova and live…

my trip has arrived
