Kaş Where? How to Go to Kas?
Kaş is a town located in the westernmost part of Antalya in the Mediterranean region, still unspoiled despite everything, established at the foot of the mountains, famous for its bougainvillea, wonderful sea, nightlife, and legendary October 29 celebrations.. It used to be like a village, but now it’s not a village, of course, but the settled people all know each other.. It’s such a small place.
Transportation from Dalaman Airport: There is no direct flight to Kaş. I know that the work on the construction of an airport had started, but it was suspended when non-governmental organizations and the people of Kaş reacted.. As such, the nearest airport is Dalaman Airport.. There is a shuttle service from Dalaman Airport to Kaş center.. You can reach Kaş in approximately 2.5 hours.. Transportation from Antalya: 189 km between Antalya center and Kaş. The navigation says you can arrive in 3 hours, but you can never arrive at the time the navigation says due to the very winding roads.. There is no choice but to turn on some good music and enjoy the wonderful views.. If you are not going with your own car, minibuses depart from the bus station.
- If you are going to travel by bus from other cities, there are bus services to Kaş.. It takes 13 hours from Istanbul to Kas (I went there in 26 hours on a holiday) and it takes 8 hours from Ankara and 6 hours from Izmir.

When to go to Kaş?
The season of Kaş almost never ends. I always went at the beginning of the season or at the end of the season.. It gets very crowded in summer because. People like me can go in April, May, September and October.. I say don’t go without making a reservation during the high season and remember that it is very hot.
The season usually ends after the famous October 29 celebrations.. I say famous because it is celebrated with great enthusiasm.. Tables of restaurants are being placed in Kaş square.. First of all, the sea of Kaş is wonderful, the water is warm for me, the sea is blue, I don’t like beaches, I prefer to enter from the pier, so I was very happy.. So why am I going to Kaş? Kaş is the number one diving enthusiast.. sea is perfect. Great night entertainment. Most places are within walking distance.. Kas is one of the rare places where I can go without a car and have a vacation without getting tired.. When I go with my car, there are many places to visit around.. Hotel Upper House: We stayed in a hotel called UPPER HOUSE in the center. The hotel is clean, the rooms are very nice, you feel touched by an architect, but since it is in the center, there may be some noise.. You can pay attention to this. When you want a room, ask for a side room, not a break room.. The sound of the TV can be heard due to the low insulation on the walls.. That’s why we changed our room. In the attic, we went to the triple room with glass from the roof, this room was very nice in my opinion.. The breakfast is amazing. Pisi Sausage and their homemade jams were delicious.

However, Can Mocamp is recommended for those who want to stay close to the center.. suitable for caravan. They provide a nice atmosphere with their live music on certain days.
Hangar Kamp: I can recommend Hangar Kamp for those looking for a different concept.. suitable for caravan. Its manager, Orhan Cebi, is a camping area that he continues to develop with his artistic touches, both because of his years of experience in the camp operation (some people may know him from Fethiye Kayaköy Adventure Camp) and also because he is an architect.. Kas Historia Beach: Now let’s have a look at Kaş beaches. Upper House hotel does not have its own beach. Don’t let the photos fool you, but it’s very close to the beach.. If you want, you can go to the beaches on foot or you can go to Kas Historia Beach, where the hotel has a contract.. we went here in 5 days. You do not pay an entrance fee to the beach, but you can go to the beach by boat.. You have to pay 35 TL per person round trip.. The boats take a 10-minute journey every day and the last boat returns at 18:30.. It’s very enjoyable.
We always went at 11 and came back by boat at 18:30.. Prices are very reasonable, beer is 30 TL, fries are 20 TL, hamburger is 40 TL but it’s huge.. (2020) If you are also a hotel customer, they offer a 15% discount. Most importantly, the showers, toilet and business are very clean and they apply social distance rules.. It’s not crowded.
Blanca Beach Resort: I want a cuppa cuppa energetic beach, if you want luxury and a beach at the same time, the right address is Blanca Beach Resort. By Car going. The side without the facility has a pebble and a deepening sea. Suitable for RV. This is one of the favorite places of RVers.. This is the first place I go when I get my trailer. You can reach the center of Kas with a 20-minute walk, or you can take the minibuses departing from the center.. When I was leaving, I took the minibus and walked on the way back.

Bella Vita: We eat pizza one evening we wanted to go to the Italian kitchen called Bella Vista in the Center. Pizzas are great, but the looks bothered me a lot as the tables come all the time so eat it and get the hell out as soon as possible.. That’s why if you want to eat good pizza, go but eat right away!!! The glass of wine is scrumptious 30 TL, pizzas range from 30 TL to 60 TL. no tea coffee. If you ask, you are eating zapara! Smiley’s Restaurant:
What if you say you want to make raki fish but you don’t want to be ripped off? The restaurant at Smiley’s Restaurant, which we went to by chance and where we were most satisfied at that location, right in the central marina, just ahead of Gratis. This is a husband and wife family business.. Most of the appetizers are made by his wife and they are always at work.. The most amazing appetizers and fish I ate in Kaş were here.. The numbers are pretty decent.. We, 5 people, 8 appetizers (octopus, sea bass marinade, shrimp are also available) salad 2 fish 1 bottle of raki 1 bottle of white wine, calamari, 2 fish We paid 700 TL, which is a wonderful figure. The owner, Mr. İsmail, is very grateful, and his wife is more grateful than him.

Long Bazaar: One of the most visited places in Kaş center one is Uzun Çarşı. It’s only a matter of time before you are teleported to another time with its wooden houses and very slippery cobblestones.. Left and right shops offer you many different products.. Almost every shop in Kaş sells their own designs.. A sarcophagus welcomes you at the beginning of the Uzun Çarşı slope.. Antiphellos Ancient City Theatre: The amphitheater, which is about 10 minutes’ walk from the center of Kaş, is the leading actor of the sunset in Kaş.. Meis Island:

When I researched how to go, I saw that there were two companies.. One is Meis Express and the other is Heroes.
I chose Heroes because there was a night expedition. Normally 25 Euro go and come. If you pay 5 more Euros, you can return at 23:00.. The evening flight is actually between 18:00 and 23:00. I thought that I would swim all day and I would pay 30 Euros and return at 23:00, but after they cut the ticket, they said that there is no night time.. The season is over. There were 35 people on the ferry and it wasn’t worth lifting the boat.. So, I ran around Meis. (October 2019)
When you go to Meis, definitely take the Blue Cave tour. When I went, I was included in the German group and paid 5 Euros.. You pay something between 5-10 Euros.. Wander the narrow streets. Do not return without eating seafood. When you return at 18:00, everything can be done by running.

Kekova Boat Trip: Kekova The boat tour is done by boats departing from Üçağız Village.. There are stone houses where you can stay in Üçağız.. What you will see when you take the Kekova Boat Tour will be the Sunken City.. He will stop by the Pirate Cave and Kaleköy.. There will be a swimming break in beautiful bays.. In these boat tours, including meals, the meals are in the form of fish or chicken and are eaten on the boat.
The grilled fish cooked by the captain on my last boat tour was delicious, but the captain was strange.. Boat tours are done by one hand by Üçağız Village cooperative.. If you are crowded, you can rent a complete boat.. The fee for this was 750 TL in August 2020. If you are only 2 people like us, you will use the normal tour boats.. 125 TL per person. I went on a boat tour years ago, but he just scammed us.. We haven’t seen any place. He didn’t even take it to Kaleköy.
Kaleköy- Simena Ancient City:
When you take the Kekova tour, you definitely stop by Kaleköy, but you can only stay for one hour.. At this hour, one is confused whether to run to the sarcophagus, climb the castle, eat and drink something.. They say that when you come to Üçağız Village, the only way to go to Kaleköy is by boat.. If you don’t go on a boat tour, you just want to go to the village, you will pay 100 TL per person.. If the boat tour was 125 TL, we bought a tour.. Of course, it was a lie that transportation to Kaleköy was only by boat.. If I wasn’t so tired, I would look at the map and find my way.
There is no way directly to the village, of course.. We had to drive up to a certain point and then walk for 15-20 minutes.. I swear we were walking. We wouldn’t run like crazy in Kaleköy either.. We even used to canoe by the sarcophagus.. There are very cute hostels in Kaleköy.. You can come and vacation here. Do not leave without tasting their handmade goat’s milk ice cream. The lemon one is my favourite.. A museum card is required to go to the castle or you will pay a fee at the door.

Demre: While you’re here, you can visit Santa’s village 51 km away.. The ancient city of Myra was truly legendary. Nicholas Church (Santa Claus) was full of Russian tourists who came to make pilgrimages. The most interesting thing to us was jumping into a well in Burguç Healing Water spa.. Kaputaş Beach: Kaputaş The beach is located on the Kas-Kalkan highway, 20 kilometers from Kas and 7 kilometers from Kalkan.. Kalkan: The distance between Kalkan and Kaş is only 27 km.. Kalkan is slightly higher priced than Kaş.. It stands out with its villa tourism. Shiny light shops, hand made design products, music overflowing the streets, streets with bougainvillea enchanted me.. You can reach by minibus between Kas and Kalkan..
