Places to Visit in Singapore, the City of Forbidden

When planning for Malaysia and Hong Kong, I was a little biased for Singapore. What I didn’t know was that the hotel with the pool I saw in the pictures, the trees from the science fiction movies and an island made just for fun were waiting for me… was within distance. I made my plan and set out to make the most of my time.

I only paid the airport, Botanic Garden and Sentosa Island transportation fees with the metro card.. I walked the rest. I preferred street food except for the famous things for the food. I was able to visit the places I wanted without buying a city card or unlimited metro card.

For Accommodation in Singapore: I listed the most suitable hotels for you.. You can see it by clicking on the Singapore Hotels link

If you want to visit places such as the Aquarium, zoo, Madame Tussauds among the places I wrote, you can get unlimited cards for 2, 3, 4 days in Singapore as in every city. available and starts from S$67 and goes up to S$250.

Everywhere is within walking distance except the botanical garden… :  In Singapore places to visit

If you have little time, these cards are not needed, most of the sights are free. If you have a long time like 1 week, you can use this card for 2 days.. Although there is a tourist card in the subway, I did not choose it.. I used the subway once or twice and it was more economical.

The most beautiful architectural structures and exotic temples in the city for those who are interested and curious: Sri Mariamman Temple(Chinatown), Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple(Little India), Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple (Little India), Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple(Ceylon Road), Sri Shivan Temple(Geylang)

1.Orchard Road

A long street where shopping centers and famous stores are intertwined, where you can relax in cafes or lose yourself in stores.. Prices are not that different from our country if you don’t come across the discount time.

It makes more sense to get your electronic needs from two other centers I will write instead of here; Mustafa Center or Funan DigitaLife Mall.

Orchard Road on special occasions Isn’t it a must-see?: Places To Visit In Singapore

I started at one end of this street and walked, and the shopping malls were architecturally designed in unusual ways and seemed interesting.. Even if I don’t shop, I even enjoy walking here.

To get to Orchad Road: You can choose one of the stops at City Hall, Orchard, Somerset or Dhoby Ghaut to reach Orchad Road; I chose to walk because it is central.

2.Chinatown

The Chinatown, which I always come across in different cities I visit; aka gift paradise. Moreover, it is intertwined with many temples…

Of course, it is useful to receive the gifts on time in order not to worry on the way back; It’s always best to buy souvenirs in one place after wandering around for a bit, and you can even have bargains and lots of discounts.

The most affordable price in the city gift center, Chinatown. : Singapore tour

This is a good option for those who want to try different and Chinese food.. But let me warn you in advance, the food made here is real Chinese food; The ones made in Europe, America and Turkey are adapted from these dishes, not the original.. You can understand this more clearly after eating here.

For transportation, you will stop at the MRT stop in Chinatown.. The name is impossible to confuse.

The architecture of Hindu temples is extraordinary, you should pay attention to the details! : Places To Visit In Singapore

If you want to visit Hindu and Buddhist temples after shopping and dining, Sri Mariamman Temple would be my first suggestion to you. It is the region’s oldest Hindu temple dedicated to the rain god. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is another temple in this area. Finally, don’t leave here without buying the miniatures of the Merlion statue!

3.Little India

If you want to try Indian food rather than Chinese cuisine or shop at Mustafa Center, you can experience the culture of India here. The food is very spicy and the smells of these spices fill the streets.

To get here, Little India is the most convenient way of transportation.. According to the suitability of the line, Farrer Park can also be preferred.. As I said, I preferred to walk around and explore the streets.. I would also recommend it to those who like curry scents…

The houses in Little India are waiting for you in this way, colorful and pleasant.

Serangoon Road is the main street of this place and you can see colorful little houses on this street, you can visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple. This temple also impressed me architecturally and it was interesting.

4.Clarke Quay

Singapore Nightlife is the liveliest place and the famous Chilli Crab can be tried Clarke Quay ! In the evening, you can enjoy the view while taking a walk by the river, and sip your drink in a nice restaurant or bar.

The nightlife here continues indoors or outdoors; For detailed information, you can read my Singapore Travel Notes. In that article, I wrote it all for you from the moment I started my trip to the end.

Clarke Quay is the heart of entertainment at night…

I think this area is a must-have, especially in the evenings.. For transportation, you can use the MRT station of the same name, namely Clarke Quay stop.. In the subway, you can find the place you want to go very easily, as it is usually named according to the touristic places.. Personally, I could easily select them all on the Metro map.. By the way, of course, trying to find Latin letters can be tiring at times.

5.Singapore Art Museum

Singapore Art Museum can be a good option for art lovers or those who want to get a little more detailed insight into the culture of the region,. It is one of the important museums in Singapore.. By the way, you can get information on the site for current exhibitions.. For transportation: Only 2 minutes walking distance from Bras Basah station.

Singapore Art Museum, Asia It’s a good option for those who want to examine the culture of art.

Students can enter the Singapore Art Museum at a discount.. It is open from 10:00 to 21:00 on Fridays, and from 10:00 to 19:00 on other days, and adults S$20, students S$15, children (under 6 years old) can enter the museum free of charge.. If you went as a family, you can enter S$52 with the family package of 2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children.

6th Botanical Park

Peace, nature, tranquility… Botanical Park has become one of my favorite places in Singapore. Plus, it’s free to enter.. I would never have guessed that such a beautiful park could be free.

Swans, different trees you have never seen (Many plants brought from surrounding countries and South America), flowers , a small pond right in the middle of the park and a wonderful scene in the middle of the pond. Singapore, despite being a small country, continues to fascinate me.

Since we’ve praised the Botanical Park enough, let’s talk about transportation.. You can easily reach here by Metro.. If you want to walk, even if it takes a little longer, it will be worth it! It costs around S$10 by taxi and can be a convenient and quick mode of transportation for those traveling with a few people.. Of course, the Botanic Garden station by metro is the most convenient and cheapest way, which is what I chose.

One of the statues spread all over the city. This was my favorite.

By the way, if you spare at least half a day in the Botanical Park, you can take beautiful photos and enjoy nature.. I loved this place very, very much.. I wanted to mention it again for the last time.

By the way, there is the world’s largest orchid garden inside the park.. It’s called “National Orchid Garden“. Entry is around S$5. In my opinion, little cost and more value. Inside, you can see special orchid species named after famous people or politicians, and if you ask a few curious people, you can learn a lot of new information about orchids.

Orchid Garden’s orchids saying hello to you, hundreds of…

I was very lucky here. I met a botanist from America and he gave me information about both orchids and other plants; he talked about plants that I could not find if I searched for hours, a special tour, enlightenment and rest were all together…

A little advice; If you read a few things about orchids and their evolution before going, you can get great information about the shapes of flowers !

7th Marina Area

A place to go both morning and evening. Because you can see two different landscapes, you can greet the Merlion statue. This is the Merlion, a rather large statue that has water coming out of its mouth, and has been photographed profusely.. Opposite it, there is the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Marina region is the place where touristic activities are most intense… : Places To Visit In Singapore

The Marina Bay Sands hotel has its own MRT stop. Its name is Marina Bay. To get to Merlion, you need to get off at the Raffles Place stop. I got off at this stop and walked to Marina Bay Sands. If you have plenty of time, this walk is relaxing, accompanied by a beautiful view, after dinner.

Isn’t the Merlion statue like the guardian of the city? : Places To Visit In Singapore

After reaching Marina Bay Sands, you can visit the casino and shopping center inside the hotel. In some hours, light and water shows are held in front of the hotel.. I even say what do you do, come across. I liked it very much. By the way, always have your passport with you if you want to enter the casino.. You cannot enter without a passport.

The hotel is 57. floor is the Skypark, that is, the viewing floor. If you are staying at the hotel, you can enter for free and use the pool.. Even though I visited the hotel, I did not go to Skypark.. If you want to exit, the fee is S$25.

Another museum here is the Art Science Museum, which belongs to the Marina Bay Sands hotel and is right next to it.. The architecture of the museum attracts attention when viewed from the outside, and various exhibitions can be organized to which NASA also contributes.. My advice is to check before you go.. Because if you are not staying at the hotel, there is an entrance fee of S$32 for adults, S$19 for children.

Sentosa Island transportation is the most comfortable with Sentosa Express, other destinations I always walked. : Places to Visit in Singapore

There is Singapore Flyer on the opposite bank of the hotel. Found in most cities, this Ferris wheel is quite large and costs around S$35.. Promenade stop will be the most convenient way of transportation.

8.Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is an amazing place where light shows are held with music after dark, there are plants from different climates in glass greenhouses, which will make you feel like you are in a movie.. Whoever made it had a really good imagination.. Personally, I admire it.

If you go during the day, you can visit the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest parts, namely the greenhouses. You can take a walk on the giant artificial trees of 50 meters called Supertree.. It’s quite possible to feel like an extraterrestrial in sci-fi movies while sitting under these giant trees and watching the lights.. For example, Avatar movie.. For some reason, while I was here, I felt like I was in one of Avatar’s scenes.

Simply amazing! : Places To Visit In Singapore

The garden is free to enter. There is a fee (Approximately S$8) to walk on the path built between the two greenhouses and trees I have mentioned.. As a park, you can have a pleasant time and relieve your tiredness here, as it is quite large and near the water.. Must see, must be discovered. I know it’s unique in the world.

9.Kampong Glam

The predominantly Muslim area of Kampong Glam, also known as Arab Street or Haji Lane. A large mosque, plenty of cafes and a very boutique area for me, this is actually a neighborhood where familiar foods can be eaten and shopping can be done.

You can go for food and gifts close to our culture.. : Places To Visit In Singapore

If you look carefully at the walls on Haji Lane, you will see carefully drawn murals. Wander and walk the streets, there are beautiful details!

Get off at the Bugis or Lavender stations contact me here. It’s a little far away. It can be difficult to walk.

10.Singapore Zoo-Jurong Bird Park-Night Safari

I wrote this amazing trio together as a combined ticket, even though the bird park and the zoo are in separate places.

If you haven’t tried it before , Singapore night safari can be a good option. Since I visited the bird park in Malaysia and did not have much time, I could not do these three activities, but it is one of the activities that many people like and you can try if you are going to stay in Singapore for a long time.. You can include it in your program.

Since these events are outside the city, it makes sense to take all three of them together and spare a day.

They are a bit outside of the city, but you can reach them by public transport without signing up with tour companies.. Boon Lay station-194 bus or taxi. Again, if you’re a few people, a taxi might be ideal.

What I want to say again is if you have time to pay S$79 to four parks ( Zoo, Night safari, River safari, Bird park) and it makes much more sense than paying S$30 for a single park.. Of course, the choice is yours.

11.Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island is a fun island where many different activities are intertwined.. Especially “Is it possible to swim in Singapore?” I would definitely recommend those who ask, to go swimming in Sentosa Island.. By the way, although the beach is artificial, it is so beautiful that you can surf and sunbathe and sip your cocktail.

Sentosa Express is very easy to reach.. I came this way too, on the way back I walked. Here you can stay overnight or take a half-day trip like me.. It totally depends on what you’re going to do. Come on, let’s explain both the daily plan and long-term vacation activities for you below.

Showing everything when I get the Sentosa Island map on the island it put me at ease, definitely have it at hand.

Golf, shopping, hotels, restaurants, beach parties, cocktails, walks to discover different butterfly and insect species, surfing, water park, Simulation of parachuting experience called iFLY, aquarium, Merlion observation deck, sky tower, trapeze, Singapore Universal Studios, free-fall and a long adventure with wire.

By the way, if you want to go, here is the southernmost point of the Asian continent.. FYI.

With so many options, stay for a few hours or a week; there is so much to do!

I want to give a little more detailed information because this is like a different city.. First of all, about Transportation to Sentosa Island;

This Merlion statue on Sentosa Island can be climbed. : Places To Visit In Singapore

  • Cable Car: It is called Cable Car, you can go with forest and ocean views, but it is a bit expensive; If you take the Harbor Front MRT station and go to the island, S$33 adult, S$22 child. You can also see the cable car museum as a gift.. It operates from 8:45 to 22:00 and the last cable cars are at 21:30.
  • Walking: On foot after Harbor Front MRT station Allows you to reach Sentosa Island. Free until 31 December 2017, then S$1. I walked free of course. You are walking on a bridge built over the sea.. It takes between 20-30 minutes and the scenery is perfect for a photo shoot.. The only point to note is that if the weather is hot, it can be tiring.
  • Sentosa Express: You pay S$4 and the entrance fee to the island is included in this price.. It takes a short time and has stops depending on where you want to go on the island.. Hours vary according to the seasons.
  • Bike or car is also possible.. Island entrance fee of S$2 for bikes and S$6 for cars/taxis.

Good pizza and cocktail , what more would I want… : Places To See In Singapore

Events: There are hotels and spas. If you are going to stay on the island, it would be perfect to choose one of these and have a comfortable vacation. Adults pay S$38 and children S$33 to enter the water park.

There is a center called Butterfly and Insect World; Adults can enter for S$16, children S$10.. It is a place I can recommend when you want to take a closer look at the creatures of this tropical and exotic center.. Madame Tussaud’s opened here too. If you’ve been before, I don’t think you need it.. ( Entry price S$39 for adults and S$29 for children ).

An experience that caught my attention was iFly . If you want to experience the feeling of skydiving, it is an exquisite experience, but a little expensive. Two flights around S$119. Four flights S$199.

There is also a big Merlion statue on the island, you can climb on it if you want and enjoy the view. There’s also the Tiger Tower, similarly.

You can’t go back without seeing the southernmost part of Asia! : Places To Visit In Singapore

Would you like to see the southernmost part of the Continent of Asia? Then the island’s Palawan beach is for you. Don’t leave without immortalizing your moment at this point of the beach! Aquarium and trapeze options are also nearby.

Singapore Universal Studios( Adults S$76- children S$56 entrance fee) entertainment lovers There is also such an option on the island. This is a very enjoyable park in terms of amusement park.. They made the mix of Six Flags and Universal Studios in the USA here as well.. Great place to have fun with kids. The aquarium is located right next to it.. It’s a nice experience to see thousands of kinds of sea creatures. For example, human-sized crabs are an example.

I felt it in sci-fi movies while walking under these trees.

Wave House and Mega Adventure, on the other hand, is MegaZip, 72 meters high from the sea and 450 meters long. This is adrenaline-filled, like a climbing wall, a trapeze. different packages available for options. If you want to experience the adrenaline at its peak, you will have to pay S$100 for the most comprehensive package.

Then for surf lovers or those who want to try Wave House (from S$15) is waiting for you. You can watch the sea view while you eat and sip your drink in the restaurants and bars right next to it.. I tried pineapple pizza and cocktail and enjoyed the view. I suggest you try it.

Packages are much more advantageous for these events than buying one by one.. The most advantageous is the one-day Day Fun Pass.. You only give S$82 for 20 activities, the normal price of which can reach S$300.

The activities included in the package are; 4D cinemas, 2 hour bike rental, Butterfly Park & Insect World, Maze, Megabounce(trampoline) or Parajump(inter-island wire slide), children’s entertainment, aquarium, Merlion‘ a ascent, segway ride, race, cable car, trapeze, visit to the Tiger tower, museum of deception, surf, Madame Tussauds… So much and so much fun?!

My favorite thing in the noon heat is to rest, rest, rest. : Places To Visit In Singapore

The most indispensable for me are beaches, volleyball, golf, sand, sun! Siloso Beach is getting a little more crowded. Tanjong is a bit quieter, calmer, restful. Palawan Beach is the southernmost point of Asia! You can reach these beaches on foot.. You can take a walk and explore along the way.

Sentosa Island is a nice memory with Merlion and its pool…

How do we navigate so many places? When and where to go? I have prepared special daily plans for you to answer these questions.

12. 3-Day Guide

What to Do on Day 1?

We can start the day with a nice breakfast at our hotel. If your hotel does not have this option, there are suitable breakfasts available in many restaurants near the hotels I recommend.. You can read my Singapore travel guide in my article.

I started early and traveled, walked, discovered; what more could i want! : Places To Visit In Singapore

The first stop after breakfast is Botanical Garden. After reaching here with the metro station with the same name, it’s time to walk, rest and find peace with the sound of nature.

When you tour these places on the first day, It is very good to relax and have fun : Places To Visit In Singapore

The reason why I started the first day here is very clear! To relieve the tiredness after the flight and say hello to the nature of the city.

After visiting the orchid garden, Orchard Road is our second stop by metro.. Here, those who want can do their clothes and other shopping, have lunch.. Be patient for technological shopping. His turn will come too.

Our first stop is this peaceful place. : Places To Visit In Singapore

After walking on Orchard Road, it will be evening and of course, for the best times, Clarke Quay is the last stop of the day.

Chili Crab is a must for dinner, if you want to eat other seafood, you can choose the restaurants here.. “Where to eat, which restaurant?” For those who think, I wrote good options for every budget in my “Singapore Travel Notes” article.

After dinner Singapore nightlifeand have fun as we wish on the first day…

2. What to do on the day?

We had a rest on the first day and then enjoyed the Singapore nightlife. Whether you wake up late or early, I say this day is entirely Sentosa Island.

This island with us with everything for fun and vacation! : Places To See In Singapore

Transport to Sentosa Island is by Sentosa Express, the fee is S$4. On the way back, we will pass the walking path and watch the evening view.. If you want, you can walk in the morning and use the Sentosa Express on the way back.. The choice is yours!

When you reach the island, definitely get the event map! Here, they have explained each event location and details…

Sentosa Island beaches are waiting for you : Places To Visit In Singapore

It will be cheaper to buy tickets online for the events to be held on Sentosa Island before you go. Even if you don’t want to run too much for a day, walking to the beach is the best option.

When you come to the beach, it is both healthy and relaxing to sit in a cafe without wandering around in the midday heat and getting tired.. My choice was a freshly made pineapple cocktail and pizza.. Espresso cocktail for the afternoon…

Palawan Beach for those who want to see the southernmost part of the Asian continent, surf trials and volleyball on the beach for adrenaline lovers can be nice.

What to Do on Day 3?

Marina district fascinated me and I wanted you to feel it before you go.

Singapore would not return without breakfast… For this, “Singapore Travel The Chinatown Complex Food Center that I mentioned in the “Notes” might be a good address.. That’s why the first stop is Chinatown.

When you come to Chinatown, you can buy souvenirs and wander around the streets.. There are plenty of Buddhist and Hindu temples here, we don’t leave without visiting these temples I mentioned before.

If you have time, walk to the Marina area and visit here before it gets dark. you can see. My advice would be to visit the indoor areas of Gardens by the Bay, stop there for a few hours, and then move on to Little India.

Little India not very big. An hour or two is more than enough as there is not much to see except the temples and the main street.. If you are hungry you can taste Indian curry food. Recommended for those who love Indian cuisine and spicy food.

We spend our last moments in the city here. : Places To Visit In Singapore

We are going back to the Marina area when it gets dark. After watching the light shows in front of the Marina Bay Sands hotel and visiting the inside of the hotel, it’s time to walk towards the Merlion statue.

The shopping center inside the hotel, if you want, You can also consider options such as the terrace.. I have already explained the details in the Marina District Title above.
