We wanted to feel the historical atmosphere of Sivas, but the strange signs, the unsuitable cafes and the piles of bags and suitcases in front of the shops unfortunately prevented us from experiencing that feeling.. According to the inscription on the Double Minaret Madrasa, one of the symbols of Sivas, it was built in 1271 by the vizier of the Ilkhanate State, Şemseddin Cüveyni. Do not expect to see the madrasa rooms in this madrasa from the Ilkhanid period, because only the minarets and the crown door remain from the madrasa.

The Double Minaret Madrasa, which has the highest crown gate in Anatolia, is also known as Cüveynül Dâr’ül-Hadisi.. The engravings on the minarets and on the door are a great work of craftsmanship.. As if it was made for symmetry patients. All the embroidery looks very neat.

    • The location of the Double Minaret is here.

    Şifaiye Madrasa

The Şifaiye Madrasa is located right across the Double Minaret Madrasa. I would like to say that this is a place where you can really feel the history of Sivas to the end, but unfortunately there is a cafe inside this madrasah.. Places such as cafes and shops in historical buildings in Sivas seriously damage the historical structure.. If we give a minus point to Sivas, this is the reason..

Şifaiye Madrasa was a madrasah where patients were treated and medicine courses were given during the Seljuk Period.. The part that has survived to the present day is the largest hospital in Anatolia.. I in 1217/18. It was built by Izzeddin Keykavus. The tomb of Izzeddin Keykavus is among the cafe tables in the madrasa!

The crown gate here is also quite magnificent.. There are sun and moon symbols on the crown door.. The embroidery has a truly aesthetically marvelous architecture.. The madrasa was repaired in 1939, 1962, and between 2008 and 2011.

It is not known how the hospital worked in the years after its establishment and which physicians were employed.. 14. It is thought that Physician Ali from Sivas, who lived in the 19th century and had a medical work, worked at Sivas Hospital.

Here it was the almity stone and the lost stone that caught our attention.. It was used as a place where those who lost their lost stone, one of the beautiful applications of the Ottoman period, looked to find it.. Small in area, Kale Mosque has undergone many repairs recently.

You can see the symmetry and aesthetic architectural understanding at every point here.. Unfortunately, there is also a cafe inside this madrasah.. It is not disturbing to walk around with the gaze of those sitting in the cafe.

    • The location of Buruciye Madrasa is here.

    Sivas Congress Building

In Sivas center Places to visit include Sivas Congress We continue with the Congress Building, where it was built. We are very emotional here.. The fact that Sivas High School could not graduate, especially because the students participated in the War of Independence, affected us deeply.. The founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK and his friends stayed here for exactly 108 days between September 2 and December 18, 1919.. This beautiful building served as the “National Struggle Headquarters” in the most difficult days of our nation.

This beautiful building served as the NCO School for a short time after the congress activities, from the first years of the Republic until the 1970s, as the “Sivas High School”. ” was used as the “Congress High School” until 1981 and its ownership was transferred to the Ministry of Culture in 1984.. Following the repair, it started to serve under the name of “Atatürk Congress and Ethnography Museum” on 19 December 1990. transferred to. Sivas Congress Building has no entrance fee.. • Sivas Historical Gendarmerie Building location is here.

    Sivas Archeology Museum

Sivas Archeology Museum, opened in 2009, is a small museum in its own right. It was built in 1914 by the Governor Ahmed Muammer as the School Industrial Factory.. It was later converted into a museum by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

The mammal fossils dating back 9 million years in the Archaeological Museum are quite interesting.. In addition, it is possible to see many historical artifacts from the Hittite, Roman, Byzantine and Seljuk periods in the museum.. Artifacts in the micro-environment made of gold took us from us. If you are as interested in archeology as we are, add this place to your list.

    Sivas Great Mosque

Sivas Ulu Mosque, Sultan of Anatolian Seljuk State II. It was built by Kul Ahi between 1196-1197 by Kizilarslan bin İbrahim during the reign of Kutbeddin Melikşah, who ruled the region between Sivas and Aksaray after Kılıç Arslan divided the country among his 11 sons.

According to some historians. The mosque was built during the Danishmend period.. When you look at Sivas Ulu Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Sivas, you see that its minaret is tilted.. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see inside because it was closed.

    • The location of Sivas Great Mosque is here.

    Gök Madrasa (Sahibiye Madrasa)

Our next stop after Sivas Ulu Mosque was Gök Madrasa, which has a magnificent stonework. The stone you know has turned into art here. From carvings to geometric shapes, from symmetry to tiles, eulogies are not enough here.

The reason why the Owner’s Madrasa, which is the real name, is called Gök Madrasa, is the turquoise colored tiles on it.. As it can be understood from the inscription above the main entrance of the Gök Madrasa, it was built by Architect Kaluytan by the Owner Ata Fahrettin Ali in 1271..

The inscription above the crown door reads as follows:
عمر في ايام دولة السلطان الاعظم شاهنشاه المعظم غياث الدنيا و الدنيا و الدن خلا خله له shah sultan It was built during the state of Keyhüsrev, son of Kılıç Arslan, the assistant of the world and religion.. May God bless his state forever.“

The Gök Madrasa, which has been serving as a madrasa for religious sciences since its construction, was converted into a museum in 1926.. In the madrasahs of Sivas, both science and science were taught.. We were amazed by this. Unfortunately this place was closed as we coincided with the restoration period.. I can’t help but hope they don’t give the inside of this place to a business!

    • Sivas Gök Madrasa location is here.

    Aksu Park

Aksu Park We are moving away from the center of Sivas a little bit. Don’t mind when I say we’re getting away, Aksu Park and the Historical Eğri Bridge and Hobit Houses, which I wrote below, are 5-10 km from the center of Sivas.. You can easily reach these places by car or city transportation.

Places to visit in Sivas center , Aksu Park, which we have included in our list, is a green area where you can relax and have a picnic.. Although the surrounding buildings shade the park, you can still relax a bit.. You can take a walk around the water channel in Aksu Park or have something to eat and drink at the cafes here.. After taking a break here with Üstün, we went to see the Historical Eğri Bridge.

    • The location of Aksu Park is here.

    Historical Curved Bridge

Let me just say Historical Curved Bridge landscaping required. Uncovering this historical bridge could add potential to Sivas’s tourism potential.. Eğri Bridge was located on the Baghdad (Silk) Road in ancient times.. Eğri Bridge, a beautiful example of Seljuk architecture, is 173 meters long.

It consists of two parts, one of which is 12 and the other is 6.. The reason why it is called the Eğri Bridge here is the Eğri Bridge because the bridge continues straight to the west, while it curves to the north in the middle parts.. This place, like many Seljuk works, was built of cut stone.

    • The location of the Historical Eğri Bridge is here.

We completed our tour in the center with the Eğri Bridge.. Apart from that, if you have time in Sivas center, you can visit Sivas Castle, İsmet İnönü Mansion, Abdiağa Mansion and Sivas Hobit Hillside Houses.
