Sakarya Walking Routes

If you ask how we missed a place so close to Istanbul with such a beautiful nature, we would like to know. we don’t know. Because we ask ourselves the same thing… We had some photos in our minds, now when we researched Sakarya, we said “this is the place”.. As you know, foreign currency hit us to the bottom, we started to prepare a list of places to visit in Turkey.. Here it is (in front of us) Sakarya..

Actually, the distance between Sakarya and Ankara is 310 km, and the distance between Sakarya and Istanbul is 157 km.. So close to both major cities.. We do not know if it is the lack of marketing or the lack of attention to promotion, but there are many hiking routes in Sakarya where you can mingle with nature.. here are them;

1- Sakarya: Adapazarı – Akyazı

The total track is 17-18 km, We will start from Kuzuluk, climb the slope of 750 meters with an altitude of 7 km, and pass the plateaus at the skirts of Keremali Mountain at 1500 meters, and reach Çamlıca Lake.. After the summit, we will descend to Gölyayla and see Keremali Plateau and many plateaus and descend for 10 km to complete the track.. If you wish, you can also see the Acelle, Çardacık, Karagöl, Guides and Mustaflar highlands in the Kapiorman Mountains.

2- Sakarya: Sülüklü Göl

Istanbul’ a 230 kilometers from Sakarya, 40 kilometers from Akyazı, the Sülüklü Göl hiking trail is 14 kilometers and takes 5 hours.

After Sakarya, take the TEM Akyazı exit and take the Akyazı – Mudurnu road (D140) before entering Akyazı town centre. ) continues. From Dokurcun turn, continue in the direction of Dokurcun. After passing Dokurcun, 3-4 kilometers later, in the Rabbit Water area, you come to the Sülük Lake junction.. You can easily see the National Parks sign on the right.. The lake is reached after driving 9 kilometers on the dirt road in the forest. After entering 2-3 kilometers from the national park sign, you get off the vehicles and start walking on the dirt road at the trout farms.. Since it was formed after a landslide, tree remnants can be seen in the lake in summer and winter, especially when the water decreases.. Sülüklü Lake Nature Reserve, located at an altitude of 1055 meters above sea level, is a national park. After two hours you reach the lake.. It is one of the most beautiful places in our country for tent camping.

3- Sakarya- Kocaeli: Yanıkdere

130 kilometers from Istanbul, 5 kilometers from Sapanca The middle difficulty Yanıkdere walking route is 10 kilometers away and takes 4 hours.. Yanikdere is a stream that originates in Kartepe and empties into Sapanca Lake.. The walking route can be drawn in two ways: the first is to start from the quarries and follow the tractor road to go down to the stream in the valley and to reach the village by following the stream, and the second is to go from the stream.. It is necessary to risk getting wet on the creek road. This route can be challenging as the rocks are mossy and slippery. In fact, the track can be made more difficult and finished in Separate Planet.

4- Sakarya: Dikmen- Beşoluk- Çiğdem- Turnalı Highlands

A 20 km long hiking trail on average.

We walk 7 km from Dikmen Village of Hendek District of Sakarya and reach Dikmen Plateau at an altitude of 1580 meters.. In August, there are mountain strawberries on this plateau.. In fact, there was a festival.  We are climbing up Dikmen Hill, the highest peak of Sakarya, at an altitude of 1727 meters.. After a 12 km descent, you arrive at Beşoluk Plateau, then one of Turkey’s 10 most beautiful plateaus, Topokotu grass, and Cigdem Plateau, named after crocuses.. Next stop Turanlı Plateau. There is also a pond built to respond to forest fires here.

5- Sakarya- Bolu: Karagöl Plateau – Çardacık Plateau – Acelle Plateau

6- Sakarya: Kılıçkaya Belpınarı

Geyve and Taraklı of Sakarya We will start the hike from Kılıçkaya village, which is among the villages, and climb to the Kılıçkaya summit and complete our hike in Belpınarı Village. The walking route, where we will see the Belpınarı Valley, which stretches from Düzotlak to the Göktepe ridges, is approximately 17 km.

7-Sakarya: Karasu

We also see the 20 km long Karasu beach. we leave it here as a bonus. Isn’t it possible to walk on the beach, too?
