Santorini Mykonos Vacation by Ship

My wife and I have a disagreement about whether the holiday we plan to go without children at the end of the summer should be rest or sightseeing.. If we are going to the Aegean Mediterranean coasts, I want to have children.. My wife, on the other hand, wants to be both childless and in direct hospitalization without trying to explore places.. When we come across the 3-day short cruise that only tours Santorini and Mykonos, we say why not?. For those who want to go to bed, stay on the ship, for those who want to travel, there is a tour on the island.. It is decided to take a Santorini Mykonos Vacation by ship, our child-free holiday plan is taking shape. We set off with the tour bus on Thursday evening and arrive in Kuşadası at 9 am.. In Kuşadası, we find the Yılancı Burnu location, which is both close to the port and a quiet bay, with the recommendation of a friend.. Although it may seem blurry at first because the sea is choppy, we find a clean area just ahead of the bay and go in and out of the sea many times…   We miss the Aegean, it feels so good. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said that at noon we are enchanted by the trio of calamari, potatoes and beer at Fatih’s Yeri, a shabby restaurant next to the beach.. Especially after we jump into the ice-cold waters again, at that moment I want to make a status update on Facebook: “Happiness is jumping from hot sand into cool waters after drinking an ice-cold beer with your loved one on the beach with squid and potatoes”..   We have to leave in the afternoon to board the ship.. When we get on the ship around 16.30, we learn that lunch continues.. Saying ‘how so’ we find ourselves eating on the porch of our ship. Although the ship is a Greek ship, the meals were prepared according to the passenger profile.. In our tour, a large part of the profile is Turks, and a small part is Japanese.. Therefore, the menu is very suitable for our taste.. Meals are served in buffet style by Filipino uncles settled in a circle, and we wander around this circle and make pick and take. A large plate and two bowls are placed on the tray, salad is taken from one of the bowls, fruit is taken from the other, and the side dish is taken from whatever is being grilled that day on the main course plate.. Meals are small, concise and delicious. Apart from the terrace restaurant, there are 2 indoor restaurants, one of which is an à la carte.. We always dine outdoors on the patio, and luckily we don’t have any trouble finding a place.. After a late lunch, we retreat to our room and have a good night’s sleep as our ship begins to sail towards the Mediterranean waters.. Then we get up like cillops and enjoy dinner on the veranda… The next morning, after breakfast with the view of Santorini, the boat of the ship leaves us to the island in groups. Santorini has something like this.. Cruises cannot approach the island, some of which was destroyed by sinking into the sea as a result of a volcanic eruption, they anchor near it and carry the passengers to the pier with boats.. We manage to get on the boat of our ship on the second tour and set foot on the island pier.. The island center Fira Town is right above us. Now let’s come to the issue of how we will get to the top.. There are two methods for this. Cable Car or Donkey. When we came on our honeymoon holiday, we took the cable car, this time I vote for the donkey.. My wife, on the other hand, does not like such uncanny work, she says I won’t be surprised by the cable car’. But she is surprised not to offend me. Each of us gives 5 Euros to the donkey uncle, in the front my wife on horseback and behind me on donkey we start climbing towards the Santorini hills. We realize that there is something strange about this business when the animals slow down, stick their heads off the cliff and start eating grass.. There is no one directing our animals! The dishonest Greek was too lazy to come with us, drove the horse and sent us off.. Deeeh, come on boy, we’re giving gas with words like go on, but unfortunately it doesn’t work.. We try to hit it with our hands, the animals turn their heads and glare at us, we trot. Another group comes down and we look like we’ll join them and that’s not there.. As the animals reach into the abyss to eat grass, we get excited and shout “Aaa”. My wife says let’s get off and walk. I put it on my head, I’ll go up the hill with a donkey. I don’t even know how to keep the animal straight if I want to get off anyway.. When I say two back and forth, my wife jumps off the horse.. When the horse is idle, it turns and starts to descend quickly, my donkey turns and goes after it.. Now I’m scared too, I’m throwing myself off the donkey. We take a walk, the rest of the way. It’s not hard to reach the top with that adrenaline..     We have 5 hours to spend on the island. Since we have visited the center of Santorini before, we aim to go to Perivolos Beach, which is famous for its black sand, which is at the top of the list of places to visit and places to see in the south of the island.. The bus terminal is within walking distance, we take the Perivolos bus, which departs every half hour, and reach the black sands in 20-25 minutes. The beach is smoked and the sea is petrol blue, the view is amazing. The first and only sea break of our short cruise, we enjoy the clear sea.. The hours we don’t want to pass are passing quickly classic, we must turn now. The bus arrives later than we expected and goes later than we expected! It’s been half an hour, we’re not even close to the center of Santorini. When we ask the assistant why, we learn that the bus we came to was an express, and there is no village where we are now! The estimated time of arrival given to us by the assistant corresponds to the time of our ship’s departure.. My God! I used to answer yes to the question of whether you are prone to working under stress in job interviews, it’s a total lie…  I am directly paralyzed.. Our master in these matters is my wife.. We ask how we can reach the center faster, they call a taxi, they give a number, we get off the bus in a hurry, but we can’t reach anywhere from the number they gave.. We decide to hitchhike. It’s been 20 years or so since the last hitchhiking, how were we doing, thumbs up! A helpful Greek citizen stands, thanks to him, throws us to the center. When you reach the center, the work is not over! 5 minutes until the last lifeboat departure, we are still at the top and there are at least 200 people waiting in the cable car queue to go down. my movie breaks there. I’m starting to cry. People are hurting, they give way, I cry in front of the whole line, I cry more knowingly when I see that it works, the ropeway officers who stopped us at first are now escorting us and we sit on the first ropeway and the last lifeboat is waiting for us below.. Victory is ours 🙂 After Santorini our mini cruise changes its course to Mykonos. So we retreat to our room and save sleep for the Mykonos nights. Disembarkation time 21:00, boarding time 03:00. Ideal timing for Mykonos. Again, we love this colorful island.. It’s even nice to wander around its narrow streets. Since we are on a Friday evening, the tables of the restaurants overflowing into the streets are crowded with everyone clinking ouzo and wine glasses. We get tired of walking and swing our feet towards the sea from a pier-style ledge in a slightly desolate place.. A man of our age approaches and asks my wife what time it is, we answer.. He comes soon and says his watch is very beautiful, we can’t understand. He comes back after a while and offers to have a drink together.. There we break. He’s trying to tell me that he’s married to me or something, I’m weird.. We can hardly get rid of the child. We remember this incident for a long time and laugh a lot..

All night long that bar is yours, this is mine, we’re hanging out in the morning mode. Our horse carriage has to leave the fun before it turns into a pumpkin, we get on our ship at 3 o’clock. Next day we’re on the road all day. We spend the day eating a lot, unwinding with violin and piano concerts, doing sports and singing at the karaoke bar. The ship arrives at Karaköy Port the next morning. We have our breakfast against the view of old Istanbul and say goodbye to our ship.. An interesting anecdote about our trip is this: Aegean 1, our ship on a 5-day cruise tour that included Patmos, Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, Mykonos on our honeymoon in 2002, was completely renovated in 2010 and renamed Aegean Odyssey. Unknowingly, after 9 years, we cruised again with the same ship on our honeymoon.. Life.
