October 2009, for dinner on the Han River bank in Seoul We are at the Manchester United Restaurant Bar. We go out to the terrace of the restaurant to get some fresh air during the meal.. At that time, a senior Korean executive of Hyundai pointed to Han River and said to me, “Can you look at that view? This view is nowhere to be found.”. At that moment, I thought of our saying, “You see, there is no other place like this”, taking them to a restaurant on the Bosphorus in Istanbul.
Hyundai in 2009 We went to test Hyundai’s ix55 and visit Hyundai’‘s factories in and around Seoul.. During our stay in Seoul, we had the opportunity to explore the city a bit.
Transport to Seoul and Time Difference with Istanbul
You can reach Seoul with a 9-hour flight from Istanbul.. There is a 6 hour time difference between the two countries.. Therefore, it is useful to adjust your sleep time on the plane and not to have jetlag.. Due to the support of our ancestors to the country in the Korean War, South Korea does not require visas from Turkish citizens.
When you reach Seoul, the dominance of Hyundai and Samsung in the country draws your attention.. Almost all cars are either Hyundai or Kia (Kia also belongs to Hyundai). Other brands in the remaining 10-15 percent market. Among these brands are Samsung-branded cars produced by Samsung with Renault.. But this situation is not limited to cars only.. From buses to elevators in the city, everything you see with a brand on it can be either Hyundai or Samsung.
Places to See in Seoul
The Han River divides the city in two. There are bridges connecting the two sides on this river.. Han River and its surrounding Restaurants evoke the perception of the Bosphorus in us.. Although I prefer the Bosphorus, a Korean can also prefer the Han River.. Although I did not have the opportunity to explore all the lines since I did not stay in the city for a long time, I compiled the places to see in Seoul.. Hope it helps you.
Gangnam
Gangnam, which gave its name to Gangnam Style, the song of the famous Korean singer Psy that influenced the whole world last year, is one of the decent places to go in Seoul.
The area that was a rice field 50 years ago is today the true center of Seoul, where the wealthiest people live.. The area is not surprising, but the nightlife is also very fast. You can try Club Octagon here.
Myeongdong
Myeongdong is a complete shopping paradise. But it would be wrong to describe it only as a shopping district.. 1.5 to 2 million people a day come to Myeongdong, one of the city’s banking, commercial and cultural centers.. In this sense, it resembles Istiklal Street.
Here you can go to the Seoul N Tower and enjoy the whole view of Seoul. Especially at night, the view is quite good.
People who come with their lover and spouse also hang a lock here for a lifetime of togetherness.
Also the Teddy Bear Museum located here is pretty cute.
Itaewon
Itaewon located in Yongsan-gu district of Seoul It is a place where foreigners mostly reside.. Maybe that’s why there are restaurants suitable for many countries’ cuisines, especially Indian, Thai and Mexican cuisine.. Maybe that’s why itaewon is the most visited place for tourists.. It is also a very active place in terms of nightlife.
