THATS TO WATCH IN SEYCHELLES – Praslin Island
Day 1: Arrival in Seychelles
Start your tour headlong after a minimum 8-hour flight, regardless of your arrival time I assume you don’t want to We have determined the island of Praslin as the starting point to avoid commuting between the ferry-hotel-airport in Mahe.. Praslin island was also good for adapting to driving on left-hand traffic because traffic is more intense in Mahe. But on the contrary, the roads in Praslin are of poorer quality and more difficult.
So, how to get to Praslin island? You can pass by fast ferry or plane.. All details about transportation between the islands are in Transportation and Car Rental in Seychelles» . We used airplanes; Thus, we did not need to arrange additional transportation to go to the ferry, and the trip to Praslin was much shorter and more comfortable. buy a line and ask the attendant to activate the line because the installation phase is in local language.
• If you are going to use the bus, exchange currency. If not, the rates at the airport are very bad.
• Book one of Praslin’s most private beaches, Anse Georgette, as soon as you arrive at the hotel (or even while waiting for a plane, if possible).. The entrance to the beach at Constance Lemuria is free of charge, but is not accessible without reservation and there is a limit of people every day before noon / noon. It was difficult to find a place in high season; we were able to find a place only 2 days later.
Hotel Suggestion for Praslin: Villa Confort» You can go to the airport without the need for a taxi or car, as it is a 15-minute walk away.
<
Even though we were tired of a road where we could sleep for 48 hours if they let go, we couldn’t stand it and walked to GRAND ANSE’ for the sunset on the first evening.. No swimming here, the beach disappears when the sea is high. You don’t have to include it in the list of places to visit in Seychelles, but if you stay in this region, you can stop by.
Dinner: Paradisier Restaurant ($$$ – Stone oven pizzas are good.)
Day 2: Curieuse Island – St Pierre Island
Curieuse Island
Curieuse Island, 20-25 minutes by boat from Praslin, is a completely uninhabited and fully protected island. a protected bioreserve. It is quite normal to encounter giant Aldabra tortoises in any hotel or restaurant garden in Seychelles, but this is where these cuties, which are in danger of extinction, roam freely.. (There is also Aldabra Atoll, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, but transportation is very difficult as it is located in the outer islands.)
Another type that makes Curieuse Island special is endemic coco de mer trees. There are only two islands left where you can see these giant palm trees that produce the world’s largest nut and seed: Praslin and Curieuse.
You can also make a short visit to the doctor’s house, which has been converted into a museum today, on the island, which was used as a leprosy hospital until 1965.. But I think the attractive part is not the museum, but the beautiful beach where the museum is located.. We couldn’t swim due to the bad weather, but it is said to be ideal for snorkeling.
How to Get to Curieuse Island?
You cannot go to the island by yourself as it is under protection.. You can arrange with water taxis departing from the Cote d’Or beach in Praslin.. In this case, you will have to pay an entry fee of taxi money + 200 rupees (€13). Also, there is not even a water kiosk on the island; There are barbecue spots on 2 separate beaches, incoming tours cook and eat there, eating elsewhere is prohibited. It may be advantageous to come by sea taxi for a plan where you will only see the turtles and return, but I recommend you to come with a guide and tour to see the different beaches of the island and the walking paths lined with mangrove trees.
St Pierre Island
When snorkeling tour in Praslin or La Digue is mentioned, fingers point to two candidates: St Pierre and Coco. Both are completely untrodden islands made of granite rocks.. You have to go to both of them with a tour.. This is our choice as all tours to the island of St Pierre include Curieuse Island.. A spot where you can see hundreds of tropical fish in flocks.
Tour Plan
If you are going to arrange a day tour to Curieuse Island, try to arrange it on your first or last day in Praslin to avoid the cost of a day’s rental car..
We used Angels Tours to go to these islands. They were picked up from our hotel in the morning, after arriving at CURIEUSE ISLAND by boat; first we trekked among the mangrove trees with the guide, then we arrived at the beach with the turtles.. In the meantime, a wonderful barbecue was prepared and we had our Creole lunch with the red sparrows.. ST. After snorkeling at PIERRE ISLAND, we took a swimming break at ANSE GEORGETTE and returned to Praslin.. (As I mentioned above, we made a reservation for Georgette, but we didn’t come back when we stopped by by boat.) We were extremely satisfied with both the scope of the tour and the company we used.. If you want to use it, link is here» The fee is €85 per person (20% online payment, the rest is cash in hand)
• All your belongings will get wet on the boat Think like this and set off with the appropriate equipment.
• Snorkel equipment and sufficient water are provided by the tour company.. You’d better take a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent lotion.
• The trekking route within the scope of the tour is comfortable enough to walk with flip-flops.
• It can get cold on the way back because there is a lot of wind in the boot.. I suggest you come with spare clothes.
Dinner: Le Relax Restaurant ($$$ – We went because it’s close to the hotel. Food was good but service was beyond slow.)
Day 3: Fond Ferdinand – Anse Georgette
Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve
The most beautiful places where you can understand how Seychelles protects its nature, why every visitor describes it as “untouched”, the protection areas and nature parks you come across on every island. One of them is the FOND FERDINAND NATURAL RESERVE that lets you look down on Praslin.. There is an intense greenery that you do not see the sun until you reach the top.. Get ready to climb 680 steps in the forest where you can see every form of Coco de mer (seed, fruit, baby or mature tree). The ascent and descent to the view point takes approximately 2 hours.
• The entrance fee is 150 rupees (€10) per person, including the free guided tour. Tours start at 09.30 / 11.00 / 13.30; I recommend you to attend the earliest hour, otherwise it is very difficult to hear the guide in the crowd.
• No entry without a guide. If you miss the tour times, there is the possibility of arranging a private guide.
• It is important to bring sunscreen, fly repellent lotion and empty water bottles.. You can use the spring water from the mountain to fill in water.
• The road to the national park is one of the worst roads you will see in Seychelles. If you can drive here, you can use it anywhere.. There is a suitable parking space for the vehicle at the park entrance; There is a bus stop 5 minutes walking distance from the park entrance.
Lunch: Le Café Celiska ($$ – Standard options such as salad, sandwiches are available. Fast, clean, delicious. The bay in front of it ANSE CONSOLATION is like a small pool with low water.)
Anse Georgette
How much time on which beach after trekking It’s up to you to spend. You can shape this section according to your reservation time in Anse Georgette, the location of your hotel, weather and tide conditions.. (Our route after Fond Ferdinand was more convenient for Cote d’Or and then Anse Lazio.) Since Praslin is a tiny island, if you rented a car, you can easily change the beach you are on.
What you need to consider when planning :
• Georgette, Lazio and Cote d’Or are all three beautiful and must-see beaches (I even think the best beaches in Seychelles) Include all three in your plan.
• Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette appear very close on the map, but you have to walk around the island as there is no road between them.
• Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette are great spots for sunset. At least be in either of these at sunset.
• “No people around.” say, you should go to Anse Lazio around 9:00 am.
Dinner: Breeze Take Away ($ – A tiny container of Creole dishes. Quite popular but service is fast as the food is ready. You can take the food and stop at the bar next door.) THE CONTINUED OF PLACES TO VISIT IN SEYCHELLES IS ON THE SIDE PAGES…
