HOW TO GET TO THASSOS ISLAND WITH YOUR OWN CAR?
WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS?
4 How does an elephant fit into a car? Our trip to Thassos begins with a deer in the shape of two to the back and two to the front . If two families go in one car, it was an international driver’s license, insurance, gas, automobile insurance, if we split all these costs, would we fit 4 adults and 4 children in a car with suitcases? We’ll fit in, we wouldn’t, we’d say as much as we’d say, we wouldn’t, and we hit the road in the morning.. We arrive at Ipsala Border Gate in approximately 3 hours from Istanbul.
A pleasant surprise awaits us at the border. So cute! A Greek police car does not allow us to pass because we are 7 people and we are 8 people.. We don’t say that, we don’t say that, Noah says, he doesn’t say the Prophet, he sends us back to the Turkish border.. When we say what to do, we consult the Turkish police and leave the second father at the border and cross the border as 7 people in 7 seats.. Soon we meet our second father, whom the Turkish police put in one of the cars behind us.. Yuppiii!
At this point, I would like to give a brief information about the documents for crossing the border.. When you want to go to Greece by land with your own car, you need to take out international insurance from Turing in addition to your Schengen visa.. This insurance, called Green Card, costs 52.5 Euros for 15 days and 65 Euros for 1 month.. In addition, you must have an international driver’s license. If you are going to issue a new driver’s license, you have to pay 486 TL, and for renewal, you need to pay 270 TL.. It is up to you whether to have insurance for abroad or not.. After crossing the border, we take the highway directly and arrive at Keramoti Port after about an hour and a half.. Ferries depart every 45 minutes in the morning.. We pay 38 Euros for a car, 4 adults and 4 children and get on the ferry without waiting in line. (Keramoti – Thassos ferry crossing, car fee is 16 Euros, Adults 3.5 Euros, 1.5 Euros for children over 5 years old.)And here we started watching the seagulls catching pieces of bread thrown into the air. even…
THASSOS ISLAND HOTEL RECOMMENDATION, PANTHEON APARTS
After getting off the ferry, it takes half an hour to reach our hotel in Limeniara in the southwest of the island. Thassos is a very popular island not only for Turks but also for Bulgarians and Romanians due to its proximity to the countries in the north.. Therefore, when you want to book a hotel on booking.com before your holiday, we encounter an occupancy rate of 80%.. I would especially recommend those who plan to go to hotel reservation early..
Although there are only three or five hotels left that fit our price scale, the first 2 nights of our 4-night holiday We are very satisfied with Pantheon Aparts that we have chosen for. Eleni’s hospitality, with its wonderful garden where children play while we chat on the balcony, its clean and characteristic rooms, conquers my heart for the first time in a hotel even though it is not modern.
THASSOS (THASOZ) ISLAND TRAVEL NOTES
After settling in our rooms, we are excitedly Thassos is one of the places to visit We land on Tripiti Beach and get frustrated. The sea is choppy and blurry. E, but the sea of Thassos was amazing?!?!
THASSOS (THASOZ) ISLAND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, PEFKARI BEACH
We continue on our way, saying that there will be no bread from here, and after three or five kilometers we turn off
We reach strong>Pefkari Beach. Despite the wave, Pefkari Beach manages to steal our hearts with its turquoise color. Kids love to play with the waves. There are also two or three restaurants in the beachside concept.. Better yet, apricot in Damascus 🙂
THASSOS (TAŞÖZ) ISLAND RESTAURANTS, KAPAKI TAVERNA
First of all, hungry bellies are at the restaurant kapaki Taverna souvlaki (skewers), sucukaki (meatballs), homemade sausages and also Our indispensable Greek salad is fed to me and then jumps into the sea.. This is my favorite part of the Greek islands. Restaurant and sea. Get into the sea, go out, sunbathe, eat, drink, all together and in very reasonable numbers.. (Account 52 €)

If we look a little more, can’t we find a sea without waves? Shortly after passing the center of Potos, we find it right next to Royal Paradise Beach, one of the most magnificent hotels in Thassos in my opinion, and after playing with the lambs in the sea, we lay down on the sand and fall asleep.. It wouldn’t be bad if we went back to the hotel now. Overlooking the beautiful garden of Pantheon Aparts, after 5 teas, give your hand Potos.
SHOPPING IN THASSOS, POTOS REGION
Potos center is chirpy, restaurants, boutiques, gift shops. Perfect for shopping lovers. There are many taverns, cafes and bars along the beach for food lovers like us.. Although it makes more sense to look at ice cream shops with 4 kids rather than a bar..
THASSOS (TAŞÖZ) RESTAURANTS, TAVERNA POSEIDON, POTOS
We had meat for lunch, dinner We choose a tavern with a fish counter, Restaurant Poseidon.. Although, in Greece, seafood and meat are usually combined in all taverns.. I wouldn’t say that selling both can’t be good in Turkey though, but that’s not the case here. We order two mixed seafood platters, two calamari, two Greek salads, and two ouzo for 8 people and have a nice feast… (Account: €57) The lambs are tired, they’re playing jazz , we finish the night early…
Thassos Island On our second day in , after we prepared a nice breakfast with the ingredients we bought from the market on the balconies of Pantheon Aparts, and filled our stomachs with tomato juice flavored with fragrant olive oil and lemon, we made our way to the south of the island again…
THASSOS (TASÖZ) BEST BEACHES , NOTOS BEACH
The view we saw from the hill when we were just on the road, stopped the car with a sudden brake and ran down to Notos Beach it causes our breast. What a beautiful sea is this, what color is it. We settle in the shade of the tree and leave ourselves to the deep blue waters. We could spend the whole day here but we still have a lot to see.
Wonder of Nature GIOLA
Our target is GIOLA. GIOLA, one of the most important places to visit in Thassos, is a deep natural pool formed between rocks, reached by a 2-kilometer pathway in the south-west of the island.. Our childhood was spent in places like this on the Black Sea coast, on rough days, but I think it is interesting to people because such formations are rare in the Aegean.. After parking the car, we go down through the forest like a goat for about 20 minutes.. Here we are finally in Giola, one of the symbols of Thassos. Eight of us find ourselves in this natural pool when we say that the children could or could not enter. When we get tired of swimming, we watch the brothers jumping into the pool from a little height.. Need on the passenger way, let’s take off. As expected, our debut is quite slow as we rest in the shadows of the trees…
THASSOS (TAŞÖZ) ISLAND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, ALIKI BEACH
Our next stop is among the coves that have a restaurant, I think the most beautiful of Thassos Island dark ALIKI BEACH. This time, he says let’s not set an ouzo table at lunchtime, while the children sleep in the car, we take Sucukaki, which is potato and Greek meatballs between pita bread, accompanied by Mytos at Kantina Aliki, one of the places to visit in Thassos .. It’s sea time. After the naval ceremony, we sip our Frappes at the Beautiful Alice Resturant, the seafront restaurant under the tree, and then the 7 B.C.. We are visiting the ancient city ruins dating back to the 19th century. It’s time to go back to the hotel…
THASSOS (THASOZ) ISLAND LIVE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT, AUGUSTOS RESTAURANT
Tavern means restaurant with drinks in Greek. All restaurants with wooden tables and chairs covered with paper, most of which have a map of the island, are called taverns.. So it doesn’t necessarily have to be live music and entertainment as it comes to our eyes.. But tonight we are going to a tavern as we know it, Taverna Augustos. We order the specialty of the place in Thelogos Village on the hills of Potos without roasted lamb, we love the taste of lamb like Turkish delight.. On stage, a team of tons of Greeks present figures from local folk dances, restaurant owner Augustos personally takes the stage and sings.
Those who cannot be content with breaking their necks in their chairs breathe on the stage, the lambs sit on 4 chairs in front of the stage and watch those with their mouths open as if they are watching a theater. The fun ends with a tavern classic, breaking the plate.(Account: 63 Euros)
