TIAN TAN GIANT BUDA – ISLAND OF LANTAU

It took 12 years to construct a 34 meters long bronze statue weighing 250 tons completed in 1993. When it is inevitable to climb 268 stairs to see the statue closely, we start climbing.. As we get closer, we immediately notice that the Buddha is sitting in the lotus flower.

There are 3 parts inside the statue. These; It is “Universe Hall,” “Benevolent Hall of Merit” and “Hall of Remembrance.”

Po Lin monastery is located right across from the Buddha. This monastery is considered very sacred for Buddhists.

After finishing the stairs, on the large terrace one lower level of the Giant Buddha, you can see the magnificent valley view around the Giant Buddha, facing the Buddha. it is surrounded by statues surrounding it and praising it.

Our choice was the ferry. We wanted to go cool like this.

There are two more options to reach the island besides the ferry;
