One of the cornerstones of making travel to Japan cheap is to make transportation cheap in Japan. So, should he buy the JR Pass called Japan Rail Pass? Transport in Japan The Japan Rail Pass guide is with you!
If you ask what is the Japan Rail Pass, it is a ticket prepared especially for tourists to travel with more affordable budgets.. It has options starting from 7 days. I think the 7-day pass is also ideal for travels of 1 week and 10 days.
Thanks to JR Pass; You can take the Narita Express, which operates between the airport and Tokyo, and the Shinkansen high-speed trains (Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto-Kobe-Hiroshima) that you will use for all your intercity travels.. You can take the Hikari and Kodama Shinkansens, but not the Mizuho, Nozomi trains.. This doesn’t change anything in your life.

Shinkansen trains run every 30 minutes from stations starting with Shin (Shin-Osaka, like Shin-Kyoto) moving. Transportation is incredibly enjoyable, high quality and fast. The seats can be reclined and the gaps are wide open.. If you buy food, etc. from 7 Eleven-style markets, which you can see every step of the way before your journey, you can have a much more enjoyable journey.. There is already a service inside the train and it is not extra expensive.
You can buy this ticket from the address you can reach by clicking here without going to the country, and it is mailed to your address.. Do not leave this ticket to the last minute, I say buy it at least 1 month in advance.. You never leave this ticket with you on your trip, and when you land at the airport, you go to JR offices to activate your ticket.. Your usage period is 1 week from the moment you activate it.. For example, we activated it on 22.10.2017. We had the right to use it until 23:59 on the night of 28.10.2017. If ticket 2. or 3. If you want to activate it from your day, you can do it at JR offices whenever you want.
JR Pass ticket price is non-reserved (the type of ticket you can go on wagons that do not have a so-called seat guarantee) 252$ + 20$ shipping fee. Tickets for reserved wagons are unnecessary and expensive because how many times we took the high-speed trains during the entire trip, we did not have a problem of not being able to sit down once.. Generally, the first 5 wagons on trains are non-reserved.. Keep in mind, you have to wait in front of one of these 5 wagons while boarding the train.. Or, if you can catch it at the last moment, like us, you can enter the first 5 wagons by walking in the train and entering from any wagon.. You will also have the opportunity to witness the luxury facilities in the reserved wagons, at least with your own eyes.
Now, does it make sense to buy such an expensive JR Pass? Or rather, is it necessary?
If you just want to go to Tokyo and see a single city, don’t buy a JR Pass.. Tokyo’s subway system is amazing. Since you can reach everywhere by subway, you get daily or 3-day tickets.
For transportation from the airport to the city, either pay the Narita Express to reach the city quickly or get the Narita – Tokyo station subway ticket, which is a more affordable way. You arrive in Tokyo, you buy a ticket from Tokyo station to your destination.. Shinkansens also depart from Tokyo station.
With your JR Pass, you can still use some subway lines in the city, but JR does not pass everywhere and you have to pay for different lines.. At the point where you buy a single ticket, you look at the region of the station you will go to in the use of the city metro and you buy a ticket at the price determined for that region.. If you buy a 200 yen ticket to a 400 yen place by being coyote, the door won’t open when you swipe the card at the exit and you have to go and upgrade the ticket and pay the difference.. The Japanese are smart! This city transportation is not cheap either.. In my opinion, one of the most costly aspects of traveling to Japan is transportation within Japan.
If your goal is to travel across Japan, which you can probably go once in your life due to its distance, you should definitely buy this ticket.. We are glad that we chose this and we were able to see 6 cities with different characteristics in Japan.. There has never been anything else in my life that occupies such a heavy place in my travel budgets but works so well.. To make it simple:
The cost of a single Shinkansen ticket just to go from Tokyo to Osaka and back to Tokyo is already equal to the cost of a 7-day JR Pass.. If you don’t buy this ticket, it’s a dream to go to a place where you can experience the pain of history as far as Hiroshima, or to go to the Kyoto Bamboo Forests to breathe that magnificent scent and listen to the whispers of the wind; because you can’t afford to buy tickets for these. It’s that expensive.. The above procedure is the same.
