TRAVEL NOTES FROM ALACATI

A peninsula in the west of İzmir, surrounded by Urla, Karaburun and the Aegean Sea, a neighborhood connected to the peninsula with plenty of wind, very blue, white stone houses and colorful flowers… Alaçatı, which is one of the first to come to mind, is the most peaceful place to visit in the spring, and combines the old and the new with its colorful doors and stone houses, every corner of which is photographic. This is the region that has attracted the most tourists in recent years, and at the forefront of the Aegean coast, which hosts thousands of athletes and professionals every year. incoming surf center.

Alacati; In addition to its streets depicted from a nostalgic story, its boutiques full of culture and its unique Aegean flavors, it is also the address of an energetic holiday in the West with its proximity to sparkling coves and full entertainment life.. I know, it has become an expensive and luxurious location for vacation, especially in the last few years, but I am from Izmir.. Even though I prefer more suitable routes for long holidays, I said that it would not be possible not to write Alaçatı, I gathered my notes and prepared a list of my favorites and what you need to know.. We wish you to enjoy reading all the beauties that are good for the soul, and to see and taste each one of them before the season ends…

wind in the Aegean When we say surfing, the first place that comes to mind is Alaçatı.. Thanks to the strong winds blowing between May and October and its shallow bay, Alaçatı welcomes many surf enthusiasts and athletes every year.. The most suitable places for surfing are Yumru Bay and Çark Beach.. Windsurf Paradise is preferred by professionals.. You can also take lessons from many surf schools here.

Fun Beach

The Maldives of the Aegean, Ilıca has both a public beach and Sheraton’s private beach.. According to your preference, you can go to the white sandy beach of Ilıca or visit the bays such as Altınkum, Boyalık,Dalyan, Çiftlikköy and Ayayorgi. you can try. The fame of the ‘beach clubs’ in these bays is legendary, and my favorite is Fun Beach in Altinkum.. Fun’s entrance is 50₺ per person, they were giving 50% discount with Vodafone Red last summer.

Alaçatı holiday is ready to the Aegean While you are gone, do not return without tasting the delicacies of this place.. Kumru in which delicatessen products are served on special sandwich bread with chickpea leavened together with cheese and tomatoes, mussel and zucchini flower from appetizers and snacks, especially from Aegean herbs Şevketi bostan, cibez, sea beans and of course artichoke should be added to the tasting list. While we’re talking about appetizers, I think it’s not a bad idea to enjoy a raki at Karina Alaçatı on the road to Hacımemiş.. It is a decent place where you can go without any hesitation, which has not entered the size of a business in this environment.. When you order a 20 raki of raki, 5 cold appetizers, a green salad for two and a shrimp casserole, you can leave the table with 200₺.

White and Alaçatı Çarşı, full of stone houses, is famous for its designer shops, vintage boutiques, cafes and ice cream shops.. After an ice cream cone at Veli Usta Ice Cream Shop or Imren in the bazaar, a break at Köşe Kahve is a must.

My favorite Cookie & Big Bubble from Veli Usta

While walking in the bazaar, you will reach your destination in a short time. Hacımem Mahallesi, the rising value of recent years. Home to many boutique hotels, Hacımemis is the multibrand store Bashaques of designer Başak Cankeş, who has gained international success with her wearable art concept, and Sometimes, the boutique of designer clothes and accessories> Be-Dest with its nostalgic enamels and cups that take you to the past, and Rue 1387 with Nordic and vintage designs are among the places to see.

B-dest

The other stops of Hacimem; In addition to its meal alternatives, Kapari Garden and Canvas (one meal + wine = 70-100₺) with its pleasant venue, and 5 Cocktails & More (one cocktail) that we know in Istanbul with its cocktails : 35-50₺), Bird Cage with its cage and antique decoration products, Dondurmino with its amazing Italian ice cream. The Saturday Market, located just ahead of Dondurmino, is the classic here.

Canvas

The place to go in addition to the bars in the bazaar for a fun-filled evening in Alaçatı Alaçatı Port. If you are good with seafood, I recommend you to try Ferdi Baba and Balıkçı Hasan, one of the fish restaurants here.. Booking a few days in advance for two venues is more than a requirement.

Birdcage

Those who love healthy eating should stop by Yaya Raw inside the newly opened PereMere Hotel. You can taste Yaya Raw’s organic flavors, raw (raw food) options, flour-free, sugar-free snacks and very delicious smoothies, and continue your detox with cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices.

Yaya Raw

By the way, unlike the boutique hotels in Alaçatı, PereMere Hotel has a modern and minimal line. let me also point out. Peremere is one of the hotels I can recommend to you for a risk-free and warm hotel experience for your Alaçatı trip.. Moreover, you will see when you look at Booking.com, satisfaction is the best around.. If you go, say hi to sweet Yasemin for me!

Peremere Hotel

Note: Alaçatı gets very, very crowded on weekends and public holidays. If you are going in such a period, I recommend that you wait for 10 minutes in front of Kose Kahve and go knowing that you will enter the walking traffic, you will walk on the streets with slow steps, and that you cannot enter the restaurants without a reservation.. This place is definitely more enjoyable on weekdays and even on off-season days.. By the way, you can see my other Alaçatı photos on my Instagram account and on the hashtag #journavelalacati.
