Waya Lailai Island

The volcanic Yasawa Islands of Fiji, one of the most preferred countries of the south pacific sea, seem to be flung into the sea like pearls. With its impressive, calm beaches and colorful sea that is ideal for snorkeling, it is a candidate to enter the category of dream islands. strong>, affiliated with Fiji’s Yasawa Islands group. It is right across the Kuata Island where I am staying.

Wayalailai Resort, located on the island, is run by 100% native Fijians.. Waya Lailai Island is also the right address for those who want to discover what the local Fijian village life is like. Smiling and warm-blooded faces, a different kind of smile, an exotic environment, sea, sun, sand… Sounds good.

After breakfast, I decided to explore the surroundings by canoe.. I went and told one of the resort staff and then we pulled the canoe out together and got the paddles.. After going to the human-like cliffs of Kuata Island, where I was staying first, and wandering around a bit, I turned the direction of the canoe to Waya Lailai Island on the opposite side.

Resting along the way, colorful fish swimming, blue sea. I took frequent breaks to see the stars and the corals.. I first saw this crystal clear and enchanting sea in the Red Sea, Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

Kuata Island to Waya Lailai Island

About 45 minutes by canoe After a few minutes I arrived at Waya Lailai Island.. Canoeing from island to island sounds good, doesn’t it! Village people lived in the houses just behind the shore I reached.. The yellowish-white beach sand area is quite wide.. After pulling the canoe in far enough for the waves to reach, I walked to the other side of the beach and came across the long beach of the resort, which is a small cove where many guests sunbathe.

I can say that Waya LaiLai’s beach is better than the beach of Kuata Island where I stayed.. The beach of Kuata Island, located in front of the resort, consists of volcanic cliffs, it is not very suitable for swimming, but it should be noted that there is a nice beach with white sand a little farther away.. Wayay LaiLai’s sands are more yellowish.

Waya Lailai Resort

I met a resort employee named Bil, when he said I wanted to know the room rates, he asked me to follow him. While walking, he saw the resrtun diving office. I’m really excited. Because one of my priorities was to get my diving certificate. I learned that the diving course cost for 3 days is 660FJ$.. When I saw a crowded check-out group inside, I decided to go around a resort.

Waya Lailai Resort, Kuata Natural Resort‘ where I stayed on Kuata Island. It is a very planned, organized and stylish place, the roof of the bungalows in rows is made with reeds unique to the islands in Oceania.. The building where the dorm room is located is located on a slightly higher place, so there is a beautiful sea view.. Dorm prices are the same as the resort I stayed at, 72FJ$, but bungalows 200FJ$ per day. Those who want to camp in a tent should pay 55Fj$ per night.

I chatted with Bil when the work at the reception took a long time.. When I said that you can stay here in the village at the same time and a friend recommended it, he said, of course, you can stay at my house.. When I asked the price, after thinking for a few seconds, he said it was $40, my friend said I had $25 left.. Bill said OK this time without thinking.. This price includes 3 meals a day. On the other side of the island, within a 45-minute walk,. they lived in a village called Naboro. Saying that his wife’s sister is a master at the resort’s diving department and that he could give me information, he sent her and left.
